The new boss spell card from the new Touhou game looks cool! I like the gimmick of it being the same 250 bullets the entire way through but still being different patterns!
If you dont mind me blowing your mind, ancient mathematicians had these kinds of patterns figured out and attributed many of its properties to the natural sciences. Only this time its given sound and an hour long visual presentation in the form of a video.
Every single one of these dots is going through its pattern at its own pace. Every one of them is in its own trajectory and that’s where it stays whether going fast or slow. They move in a straight line from the edge, inward through chaos, and out to the opposite edge. Every single one goes back and forth in a straight line, never changing speed nor leaving their path.
Oh yeah. I thought I had noticed that myself already but apparently not because I just spent five minutes drooling on myself as I watched the dots go back and forth.
Every time I see something like this my brain just goes ablaze trying to wrap itself around all these complex mathematical relationships and seemingly cosmic patterns that evolve, but I think this video in particular says a lot about the human psychology of comedy and comedic timing given that the bits where the sound builds and builds and builds, pauses for a brief moment, and then POPS as a bunch of the dots strike all at the same time literally make me laugh out loud more than most intentionally constructed jokes and memes I've ever seen Edit: Also challenge for Adam Neely: Play this polyrhythm in its entirety.

That really freaked my German Shepherd out. She just tried to break down my studio door.
For free satisfying moments, take 40:00 and divide it by some not-very-big integer.
For example, 40:00 / 6 = 6:40, so there are nice moments at integer multiples of 6:40: 0:00 6:40 13:20 20:00 26:40 33:20 and 40:00.
Or, if you choose 9, you get: 0:00 4:27 8:53 13:20 17:47 22:13 26:40 31:07 35:23 40:00
If you divide by 7 you get: 0:00 5:43 11:26 17:09 22:51 28:34 34:17 40:00
Math is power!

6:40 the build up to this was great
3:13 opening chest on zelda
LMAO
I want it known that an ad broke me out of the cycle. The moment an ad popped up I returned to earth after being mesmerized
I feel like this should be played in Willy Wonka's computer research lab.
Something tells me this could cure some mental illness. Very simplistically satisfying.
4:59 the "dut" is so funny to me and idk why
Bop
20:00 is a complete restart how cool
Okay but it's half cycle
"yo can i hop on aux real quick?"
Who relates to finding just one of these videos and just watching more then successfully becoming a fan?

What if aliens are listening to something like this and being like: Damn this track is fire 🔥
This video calmed a panic attack that woke me, and for that I thank you, sir

15:00

the energy of this video is like those videos of a guy dipping a chicken nugget into a bucket of bbq sauce while also being covered in bbq sauce
I’m not quite 3 minutes in and I could watch this all day. reminds me of a sorting algorithm in some ways
These are so fascinating! Would you happen to have the code for these animations open source anywhere?
3:10 the build up for that single ping
This sounds like a mix of a zombie apocalypse alarm and a game of Pac-Man
How can my senses be assaulted yet satisfied at the same time??”
I love how it looks like it's about to make the loudest sound ever and just explode and then its just 🗿
They are all moving in a straight line, focus on one circle. They also move at different speeds, which is what’s creating these shapes and stuff.
That's the hardest polyrhythm I ever heared. 😅
10:04 now i need to attack the boss while theyre charging so it will interrupt the charging
The sound is oddly reminiscent of the sound used in sorting algorithm videos, including the satisfying "flick up" of the final check.
And I'm loving it. I'd love to hear this sound profile used in a few more experiments.
