After Ben and Rey unite and die- restoring Palpatine's body to its full potential, Finn comes to rescue Rey but finds that he is too late, and uses the lightsaber and takes on Palpatine, with the power of the Jedi in him and the legacy of Skywalker empowering him, he destroys the Emperor once and for all. He becomes the last Jedi.
