Hello, We are Sherry, Heather, and Mary, also known as the "Alaskan Bears!" We live in Fairbanks, Alaska and we have decided to share our adventures with you!

Saw you ladies on Somers in Alaska's vlog today doing the 6k midnight run. You looked great. Awesome job ladies.
Awesome! Thank you! We just watched the video, we saw all of them along the course, kind of funny with a sea of people around us. It was a 10K, 6.2 miles. We had already walked 6 miles that day! 😉🥵

I wish there was something like that here for us to do. Looks real fun. We did go to Homer last week for my grandson's baseball game, and I got burnt like a lobster from sitting for 5 hours. Not as hot as Fairbanks, but enough.

Hello!!! Haha, Mary and I had to go watch the Somers video after I saw your comment 😊 We saw Bert with the camera but didn’t think he caught us, he was trying to video the Barbie cars, lol. The peonies up here are amazing! Oh my gosh! I am glad the weather was nice in Homer, but yeah, you gotta be careful in the sun here 🌞 I do love the rainbow of outhouses, they did it a few years ago and have been doing it ever since 😍😂

The Garden looks amazing. The Soil there was always very good to grow. I remember the Mt. McKinley Banks but don't remember the building. Everything looks very similar to me except the solar panels. brings back a lot of good memories.
We do have really good soil here. And lots of sun for sure, perfect for the sun loving plants. The Mt. McKinley Bank here is still really involved with the community, it’s nice.
✍Hello Alaskan Lady Bears...Beautiful gardens, love peonies. Thought I saw you on The Somers video at The Midnight Sun Run video. Speaking about turtles...Since I know how much you guys love animals...have you seen the short video of "the skate boarding turtle and the cat" ? This turtle loves this cat💞 the channel is called American mona skateboarding turtle and cat. I bookmarked it so I could have a laugh when I need one. Its been really hot here as well but I've been staying in the AC since I'm not able to do much of anything. I did go grocery shopping Wednesday and it really wore me out so now I'm physically paying for it. I just can't do much since being in the hospital. The Festival looks like so much fun but I agree with you about not bringing your dogs not only to an event on a hot day but they say to put your hand on the concrete and if you can't leave your hand for 3 seconds its way Too Hot for your dogs to be walking on it !! The garden different variety of flowersplants and the bees hear them buzzing it big place we had in Washington DC a botanical gardens it nice got to go in September.Take care all .❤😊🐦❤🙏🙏👍

Those gardens were beautiful. What do they do with all the produce? What a happy place for the bees. The peonies are so pretty. Great place to get your steps in. I can't believe how many people were at the festival. I'm glad to see people out and about and not worrying about social distance. I would love to try the wild berry lemonade. Nice to see Heather out and about with you! It's 68 in Minnesota today, perfect day. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!!
I think they use the produce for the culinary program at the college. We love walking there in the summer, it’s always a surprise what will be there, new flowers, bugs, critters. Wild berry lemonade sounds really good right now. It has been so hot 🥵 Heather will go if there is food and shiny things involved 😂 68 sounds wonderful. We had a great time today, we will head home tomorrow. It’s a long drive. I hope you are having a good weekend 🥰
Hi Bears 🐻🐻🐻 Happy Summer Solstice. I don't think I have ever seen so many people then on the video today. Activities are usually not that crowded, are they? Other than longer waits in line, still looked very fun. Enjoy your weekend ... have a safe trip home from Palmer 💜💜💜

We see lots of bumblebees here. People really get mad about the spraying, so we actually still have the good bugs! Weren’t those weird sculptures?

The gardens looked nice. That was at UAF, correct? I don’t remember it being there back in the day. I think you commented before that you should do a UAF video, that would be neat. 😊
I remember the Midnight Sun festivities. One of the things I remember is that they used to play golf all day and night long. I saw a place on the map called Bike Vault, is that where you can rent bikes, or is that just a place to store them? It’s nice that they have a parking garage downtown now. BTW, the canoe races looked like fun. I don’t remember the Chena Lakes recreation area being there when I was there.
How much longer do you think it will take to tear down the building (and now I can’t remember the name of it!)?

The Gardens at UAF were started in 1991, but actually didn’t take off until 2007, so they are fairly new. I really do need to take a really long walk around campus, lol. Midnight Sun has changed a lot over the years, even just since we have been here. The bike vault is something the city parks and rec started this year, they are checking bikes at events to keep them safe and encourage people to ride them instead of bringing cars. That parking garage is really nice,but people rarely use it. They are actually moving pretty fast with the demo of the Polaris building, the street is closed off now. The city is hoping another hotel will buy the property, we will see. An indoor water park would be nice 😎
