Competitive play is pretty insane for anyone who's mind isn't spinning at 160rpms, ya know? D *I* couldn't play this fast. NEVER. And I've played HoMM3 for 30+ years (single player, mostly).

BDs have always been my favorite from HoM&M. :) Sure, ever since Rustys, Crystals, Azures, etc. were added, that's a bloody THRONG of HP, but immunity to magic is pretty devastating. Especially if you make certain to boost morale & luck via artys, map locations, or both.
QUESTION! :) Is the "two possible artifact layouts for hero's body" a hotkey?! I don't understand how to do a "this is my economy setup, and this is my main setup". Hope that makes sense how I'm asking it. THX!

It does make me wonder, though. I wonder why the HOTA dev team doesn't simply craft in a small "tab" or button where one can swap between "gear layout 1" and "gear layout 2"? Seems easy enough. :) Especially now that it's a popular, "every turn" action for competitive gameplay.

I am a big H3OMM fan, but still a noob after years of playing :))
I barely beat the AI at hard on a M size map, but it's still fun for me.
What I can not understand in this video and not only:
1-How in the hell with 1xTrog and NO DIPLOMACY skill in your pack, 21 harpies joined into your army in 1st day?
2-How in the name of God did you just find nearly to your castle, town portal and teleport spells with no guardian around?
Is this a special map/scenario? There are any special configs or rules for this multiplayer game?
I swear I can not understand.
Don't laugh, I know I'm noob, but I really want to know :))
The template played here, Duel, especifically allows for those scenarios to happen, to enable fast paced gameplay.
in Duel starting location is called a bunker, unit's guarding gold mine there always joining.
fly, tp and dd scrolls are always in the bunker as well

I enjoy H3OMM for the adventure map, full build my town, doing a ressurection with an Archangel, exploit the game with Luna's fire walls and do some skeletons snowball with Galthran...
It's not much, but it's honest work :))

@@mitcher074 I play most of the time random generated maps, S or M size.
Sometimes I try an L or XL, and after 8-10-12 hours of playing, the AI kicks my a$s:))
But anyway I like Devil is in the details, the huge HoTa map and my dream is to beat it one day:)) Maybe I will never succeed, because I don't have the necessary time to invest in order to learn new strategies and tricks...
