The first point and click adventure from Core Design. While the game is quite short compared with other similar games, its difficulty comes from little to no dialogue in the game at all and you have to fumble around finding random items and use them in ways that don't always make sense. The UI is also quite cumbersome and I'm constantly getting into a muddle with it.
The game was developed along side the Amiga version and each version seems to have a unique art style and colour palette so some scenes can look quite different. Items are also in slightly different places. in game music is also in the pc version. Interestingly the game has a low detail mode (Which I recorded a lot of accidentally so had to start again). Some random animations don't play like water droplet in dungeon, no volcano rain to burn you, no electrical animation on the floor trap and no wind effect in the town.
The ice fortress gave me significant trouble with its random door openings triggered by a dice throw just wasn't going my way. So if you notice the music jump in that section its due to be trimming it down massively. -

As a kid I had this and I could never get past the first screen... now I see why. This game it's so much illogical nonsense!
Exactly the same memory. Yet I remember taking the time to load it up and keep trying.
Same here, it was impossible for me and my brothers to figure it out
People will never understand how before the Internet we would literally never get beyond the first 5 minutes of some games.

I loved this game...one of my favourites ever. But had to play with the internal speaker as soundcard instead. Such a nice times

This has to be the most poorly designed point-and-click adventure ever. So many puzzles that have zero logic behind them.

This is maybe not the best point and click game made, but the music in this PC version really helped the game to be a little bit better, I played the AMIGA version and there is NO ingame music at all exect the introscreen.
What sound card is used?

I remember playing this after playing the Indiana Jones saga, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island (1 and 2), because of that, I remember being a little disappointed with the game, besides, I was a kid and I didn't fully understand the mechanics. Also, I played it with Speakers and the sound wasn't good...! (36:15 this scene with Speakers was a nightmare....!!) Still, I realized it's a great game !!
