Totally agree with you, Mark, i think too we're all living at the peak of our civilization. Yes, we can do much better but also much worse and through the technology we are now allowed to pass down to posterity entire portion of our lives and the works of these magnificent artists. Your grandson's answer after Atkins' passing was impressive: he was literally saying that some gifted people between us can now reach the immortality, a goal granted only to Gods. This is a serious and deep stuff to realize, it always amazed me how children could change the way you see the world in a blink of an eye with just an innocent sentence. I love listening to Aretha Franklin singing. The reason I say that is because with each song she sings, she has lived it!! Authentically speaking t That's her life has had a lot of trauma in it so unless you have walked in her shoes Do not judge. She walked in many shoes, she was beatin down. She was divorced four times, she was hit by men and yet still she found beauty in the music that she sang. The depth of her soul is a immeasurable.
