I was an Airframes Supervisor of a Vigilante squadron in 1973. It was a tough time and all of us worked hard to fulfill our missions at the end of the Vietnam War. I thank all of you for being hardworking individuals during this time!!
You must have good memories. Respect from Brazil
I love this video, no stupid music, no comments just the pure action. Thank you.
Me too 😊

It is interesting but I still prefer Top Gun's epic legendary intro aboard the USS Enterprise.
Being a former Marine who did 2 westpacs aboard amphibious assault ships, it brings tears to my eyes knowing how valuable this service is they are doing. They all have my total support and prayers. I just wish I could be there to see any part of a carrier battle group returning from overseas.
No former always a marine. No exper on oath. 🇺🇲👍🦅🌎⚓👹🐕🦺
god bless
Once a Marine, Always a Marine.
An this is from a Navy vet. Huge respect to any an all service. Whether enlisted or otherwise. You. Matter.
U can build a new carrier , but these people working hard with decades of carrier experience is the most precious assets that standing apart from the rest in naval power.
I'm glad they don't have the heavy metal music with this video. I love the natural sound of the flight deck.
thanks for the credits in the description! Im glad you all like my footage!
Dam, I miss those great NAVY days. I love it.
ABH 2.... Loved it! The skill, the professionals, the guts, and the grit.....
team work at its best! Love that vid with live sound and no hard rock ! Go Navy !
WOW!!! The best video I have ever seen!! Thank you SO much for that and definitely thank you all working on that carrier!!!👏🤝👍
Never get tired of watching precision at its best.
I remember when this carrier dock at westport malaysia with uss aegis destroyer kidd back in early 2000's. We had a chance to get aboard the vessel and it amaze me the size of a hangar can fit 2 football field inside the belly of this mothership. Thank u us navy for making my wish came true.
Gotta admire the work of every individual on these amazing ships and planes! Gotta be the best job on this planet... but though as hell for sure!
Really enjoyed this video. Always impressed by the sheer numbers of crew members it takes to operate a super carrier. And the fact that the work never stops. Much respect and admiration for the entire crew, from the captain to the pilots to the flight deck, the mechanics, and everyone else who wears the uniform. Keep up the good work!
So amazing.God bless you, God Bless United States of America!
So interesting to watch operations as a spectator, but do realize lots of isolationism. The do have different things to improve morale. My brother was on the Vinson, the captain was big into fishing and slowed the carrier down for people to fish off the back. A few people did, when the captain got word that someone got into a marlin...he told the ship to back up (to help reel in the fish). The mess hall ended up providing the fish for din din that day.
These carrier operations never cease to amaze me.
The level of cooperation that is needed not from just launching and retrieving planes, but from every task on board right down to the resupply and the sorting and moving of goods as well as the chiefs preparing the meals! All monumental tasks and the Good ole USA does it well!! 👍
In Vietnam we did this at night try doing that with it raining for 30 days at a time !
Man, sailor job never changes, its always hard work, dicipline and duty.
Good Footage F - 18 Hornet US Navy Airforce Jet Fighters Operation On Aircraf Carrier Ship, .... Bravo.
I think you meant Navy aviators? Airforce does not use this aircraft
Nothing in the world matched the excitement of working the flight deck of an Aircraft carrier also very hazardous. Accidents happened people were hurt a few died. Served on USS Midway (Midway Magic) with VA115 . Also VA145 USS Range.r Worked as an AD squadron and AIMD jet shop. One of the best times of my now 60 year old life 1978-1982.
Thank you for your service. We as a nation very much appreciate you and all those who serve! God bless America!!
Oh, VA115, I was on the USS Midway in '83 and IO cruise in '84, AIMD IM3 division. CDR Schramm was the AIMD officer. The avionics shop was right under the flight deck O2 level port side, just aft and above the LOX plant. It got noisy while trapping aircraft especially if they bolter and drag that tail hook across the flight deck. I do not miss that part.
Thank you for your service 💖🇺🇲♥️
I can imagine a few types of danger:
* Being sucked by an intake
* Being hit by a plane
* Being burned by exhaust
* Falling off the deck
* Aircraft crash debris
* Broken arrestor cable hitting stuff
Am I missing something?
There was no shortage of accidents on the ship. The Flying squad was always being dispatched. First cruise there was a launch with my squadrons aircraft that one of the launch crew was sucked in the intake. He lived because his cranial helmet came off the engine backfired and he came back out the intake in a hurry. The engine did not survive.
Thanks guys that's all I can say about what you all do it's amazing thanks again be safe.
I loved every minute of that
Mkkkin.

Always cool to watch carrier ops, great video!
Ikr 😅
Hell yeah, I can see why people would want to be on a carrier, looks awesome!
No other job quite like it in the world. It will be 50 years next month when I left the USS Hancock CVA-19 to muster out and I still miss it... well, most of it anyhow lol.
Stennis’s anchors are all that remains of my old ship, the USS Forrestal. I don’t know who John Stennis was but this ship has history attached to it as far as I’m concerned.
i was in va-81 on the forrestal 71 to 75. i had heard the anchors went to the lincoln. thanks for the info. pretty crappy the way the navy did all the old oil burners. lot of history cut up for scrap.take care shipmate.
Naw, the stinkin Lincoln was commissioned in 89 when the FID was still active duty. I hear you though. I would’ve liked the FID to become a museum in Baltimore but the DoD wouldn’t go for it and ended up selling it and all the other oil burners for a penny apiece. Terrible.
The Stennis is named for a senator or congressman from I believe Mississippi. Don't know how he rated a ship. But there it is. If I'm not right I'm damn close.
@@jlightfoot7536 he was also chairman of the armed services committee and very friendly to military appropriations including production of nuclear aircraft carriers. There is a move to try to change the name because he was a segregationist.
BZ to the crew of USS STENNIS! Well done, Sailors.
Love y'all!
Ahh the good old days..
MAGNÍFICO !!!!
Thank you to all our service members keeping us safe and ready🇺🇸🇺🇸
All the operations are so fascinating! More like living in a naval city..another world. Is there like a complete navy aircraft carrier manual or relevant books for more information?
I always thank Americans for protecting Korea

Excellent video! ..... I miss the Tomcat!
Awesome !! Awesome !! Just awesome !!
Thank you
@8:35 is that what grocery runs look like on a carrier? xD
Connor DeYoung Racing It’s called UNREP Underway Replenishment, and one of the most dangerous grocery runs anyone can do. 😉
What a cool way to get your groceries delivered!!👍
amazing teamwork for training purposes. On the other hand, modern warfare is no more throwing bombs but economic sanctions
Absolutely adventurous
What a busy aircraft carrier
The only time I remember doing Vert reps was when we off loaded bombs before going home. The USS America (old America) needed them to drop on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
nathan marr did a west pack cruise on the America turned out a around the world cruse 68-69!
Fantastic thrilling video.. thanks for sharing..
Fantastic video!!! Bye from Italy 🇮🇹

I miss this battle group !
awesome crew!
Muito fera, se na minha juventude soubesse que poderia servir nos EUA eu teria feito o possível.
Lot of OK 3s. Good show.
Muito bom. Parabéns
Air Force rules the skies!
Awesome!!!!
Amazing👍🏻👍🏻, great teamwork and coordination👌👌💪🏻💪🏻
This video's got a lot of action.
The Captain is flying his plane at 5:54. Nice...
That's actually a Marine Corps Captain,, not a Navy Captain. Its equivalent of a Lt. Jgr Grade. A Navy Captain is equivalent to a Colonel in the marines.
@@UTClassof Actually VA Marine Captain is the same as a Navy LT, not a Junior Grade.
Not necessarily, the Aircraft of each Squadron with the Mode Numbers ending as "00" such as 200 are all marked as the CAG of the Air Wing, and or CO of the of the Carrier. A pilot will be assigned to fly a different Aircraft each Flight.
Aircraft carriers are literally the most steampunk machines ever made...
GOD BLESS USS NAVY!
This is the best Video i have ever seen of Aircraft carrier ,,
Do the pilots use a combination of the brakes and the arresting cables or do the arresting cables do all of the work stopping the planes?
Full throttle into the cable just in case of an emergency the pilot can take off again.
Sean Kiernan no brakes, just cable. engines are at full throttle
ah thanks for the reply.
Do carrier based planes (eg f/a 18's) not use any wheel braking like we have on airliners? From someone who has no experience of any military plane whatsoever, i had always thought the increase in engine power was some kind of reverse-thrust braking. Thank you all for educating us :) hope everyones well and good. Massive respect to those in this video and all military. We all have the ability to make a darn great life for ourselves because of brave men and women always there and ever ready. I dont mind ppl cussing out the policy makers but it enrages me when ppl attack those in uniform who want to give their all (and their lives) for their country.
P. Mid brakes are for taxiing only. The arresting gear does all the work. The pilots are trained to push the throttles full forward as soon as the landing gear hits. That way if they miss the cable and “bolter” or the cable snaps they have enough air speed to get airborne again. Sometimes it takes several tries for a nervous pilot to land, especially at night.
멋지네~👍👍👍
Love every body on aircraft carrier .
Love what the Men & Women do for us no sleeping on the job 24/7 A big thank you.
1:38 he got on the last cable I reckon !
There supposed to try and catch the 3rd wire the other 2 wires are back ups
@@justrogue5965 Depends on how many wires it has. For typical operations, carriers with 4 (mostly older ones) it's the 3 wire but for later carriers with only 3 it's the 2 wire they want to catch.
He got the last cable! Not many can claim a beautiful thing like that. I wish I could get the last cable sometime...
Excellent
God bless y'all 🙏❤️
Professionals, the US Army is the coolest! That would serve there!
Serrozha this is the navy
No music in this video.Awesome
