My man found that ticket on the ground, trying to cash it in
that's unlikely. i used to work at a 7-11. anytime a winner is produced, we'd take the original ticket and staple the payout receipt to it (as you can see had already been done) and then file it behind the counter. you don't get to keep the ticket. it's more probable that someone at the store scanned it as a winner, told the guy it wasn't, and then collected it themselves. a lot of shady convenience stores do that. i'm not saying that's the case here, but like i said you don't get your ticket back, it's policy. the store needs the original ticket to prove lotto payout.
@@damienwarlock I don't know if it's the same for other states, but Texas we have an app that you can use to scan the ticket beforehand so that you go in knowing that it's a winner.
@@damienwarlock that could be true too!

“You have a beautiful South Carolina Afternoon!” - Cpl. Furgal
Ahmed Gafar yeah cop sounded extremely sarcastic😂
:D
its Sgt, Furgal now my dude
That comment by the cop was somewhat insincere me thinks!
Trascy Jaac absolutely insincere and condescending
Narrator: ...he didn't take it up with the South Carolina Lottery Commission
I mean we all know he bought the ticket from someone after it was paid out or found it somewhere lol.
he traded for some crack!!!
😂😂😂
You're not the narrator, gtfo.
@tootz1950 Narrator: thanks for your helpful reply
This call was a waste of time for that cop.
Its the South...not that much crime here ya'all so cops have plenty of time
I am a kentuckian so I can testify.
Ivy The Blind Husky Richland county has a lot of crime. South Carolina is not Kentucky.
I think most of them are.
ice there's always bad atras but those are usually called the ghetto/hood and are exception the norm. You only live there f you are too poor to live elsewhere. South Carolina overall has a lower crime rate per capita than Kentucky.
Meanwhile someone getting shot r robbed

I swear Cpl Furgal always gets these type of side quest calls lmao. Never sees action and just talking to weirdos. Such a nice guy tho lmao
mpkp2011 Because he is a corporal and they give of all the violence calls to the new guys that are expendable
Hank Fuchs they all are
1:07 as soon as they saw the camera, the guy left and the girl dipped down lol
I said the same thing.
Dude said "oh man"
Then the girl dipped down like she was given a BJ
Dunked down? Was she playing basketball?
dunked?
He said "come on man"
That’s some serious observation @Dani Plays
He's obviously lying. Why would he be content with a new card if he genuinly won and was entitled to $250?
Cuz he's like my black Uncle, has the most horrendous attitude and acts like he has no class.
We call him Ratchet Uncle Ricky
@mrt57rn yes they usually do, something doesn't add up here..
M 6 black uncle? Why not just uncle?
Well to begin with when you turn in a winning ticket the store takes the ticket as proof of the payout.
This was my exact thought
"you have a beautiful south carolina afternoon" is the best thing I've heard all day lmao
This was just a break time for the pig
About the same thing happen to me. I took my ticket in for a payout, cashier scans it then said she didn't have enough money in her register and that I would have to take it elsewhere. I took the ticket to another place and they said the ticket was already paid out. The first place didn't back the ticket out of their system and kept the money. It's a cashier scam going around California.
You know he went straight the the lottery commission after he was done talking
No he didnt that was a weak little scam!
He's going straight to the source for the cover up
@@tammyrogne1471 it was sarcasm lol
I mean that's something any rational person would do lol 😅
Evidence? Y'all assuming too much
This literally happened in my town of Albion New York. A guy went to cash a 10 winner and it was claimed. Turned out the people that worked there were running tickets through and taking the money. I hope he was in the right.
Least SOMEONE here is offering Ben of Doubt
Yeah clerks do that. I worked at a gas station and a dude left his tickets for us to check and came back at lunch. He had won $2,000. He gave me $100 and said, “Thank you for not stealing my ticket”... something that would’ve never occurred to me to do because I was raised right.
Sgt. Furgal is always so positive with his beautiful South Carolina afternoon/evening goodbyes to everyone! Love how he respects everyone & his calm demeanor.
"You have a beautiful south Carolina afternoon"
I like the officer's attitude very relaxed :'D
Richland has some good officers
The workers that didn’t wanna be filmed are a whole mood 😂😂😂!
U know they was illegal with no visa or papers 2 work here in the US 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙂
lol I empathize with them - like I'm just trying to get to the weekend, don't look at me
I LIKE GRILLED CHEESE AND TOMATOE SOUP ON A COLD DAY...
I work at a Sunoco, that is completely false at least from my experience @Tootsie
@Tootsie they still need to have the ticket.
Might be different state to state, although it seems like every state should keep the ticket once it's been paid out
lots of gas stations have a wall they post winners up at... he could have just ripped it off there
The SC machines make a ton of noise about how you're a winner when a winning ticket is scanned so that rouge employees can't scam customers.
I like this cop. Cool, calm and professional.
“You have a beautiful South Carolina Afternoon!”
awh
I wondered, how does that work?
People just aren’t good at scamming 😂😂
I love how Our sheriff makes you say have a beautiful South Carolina afternoon on live PD. HAAHAHA I’m dead
1:07 dude in the blue shirt 🤣🤣🤣
He got warrants
He cashed the ticket
Then the girl dipped down u der counter like she was given a BJ
COME ON MAN!
What a wonderful cop!!! Keeping the peace!!! Good Job officer.
The way he went from talking to the guy to talking to the camera was smooth
I like this cop. He doesn't need force, just uses his brain!
Enjoy watching this officer cause he's good about playing things cool, I know several law enforcement officers that get tired of babysitting calls like this and although they play it cool too, it gets em after a while cause they're more interested in protecting and serving the community by taking those who prey on the innocent to jail. Very professional encounter shown here mad respect for this deputy💯
He prob went home, found out he won, and some family member took it and cashed it without him knowing. But after cop said they can pull video, he completely wanted to get out of there.
My theory is chick cashed in. Than scanned it again and said. It's been paid. nd when old homie walked out she pocketed the money and new the cops were racist asfu and would never believe a old black geezer. He got screwed
Eightys Baby87 I’m cool with that, up until he asks for another ticket....you saying you’re just gonna give up your $250 for another scratch off? Nah. Scam
@@eightysbaby8798 lololol stupid. Dude said ok of you don't give me the 250 then I want a new ticket OMFG you guys are stupid. Why would someone give up 250 for 5 dollar ticket.
@universal understanding facts. Didn't even notice he said. Keep the 250 one and give me a new ticket. MB. Bc yea. If I won 250 and they said we ain't paying it but we'll give you another ticket. We fighting in the store.
@@eightysbaby8798 I guess everyone is going to ignore the black cashier that was also in there with her. He even threw up his hands like dude really called the cops?! And didn't want anything to do with the situation anymore. I think you and a few others up in the comments have found something racist about this situation. And you're part of the reason we as a society can't overcome racism cause you try to find it even when it's not there.
So in the UK some shop keepers have been caught saying winning tickets was already paid out, or wasnt a winner Then pocketing the winnings themselves

Seems like he’s trying to say he just purchased that ticket along with the other 3. Just because he bought 4 doesn’t mean that ticket was one of them. I mean I’m sure it sounded like a good idea in his head.
The idea in his head was to cash out the $250 then tried to swindled the ticket again for another $250. Wonder why the first cashier gave him the winning ticket back? People do not normally get their winning ticket back.
@@UnchainedAmerica probably because of the slim possibility that he was defrauded?
If you buy four tickets you can tell if the tickets for both together or if you took one out and stuck in a different one cuz they all have serial numbers keyboard for together the serial numbers would be consecutive

Dang he kinda sounds like John Witherspoon. The feels man...
Dylan Woolard What? The dude in the video sounds like the actor John Witherspoon. Granddad in Boondocks- Cube’s dad in Friday. But if you’re warning me, I’ll take that to heart. Wouldn’t want my legs to fall off.
I randomly heard Morgan freeman in my head saying “and that would be the last we’d ever see him”
They really need to give the 911 dispatcher more power to deny calls because people are taking advantage and wasting resources.
The next day he was ready to pick up this bridge in Brooklyn someone sold him
I like how pops didn't want to hear the details... just started in with "it's not fair!"
I guess facts don't matter anymore.
The lottery commission can tell when and where the ticket was cashed - all of the convenience stores have security cameras, they can even see who cashed it. My money is on a convenience store clerk cashed it, scamming the old dude. Check out other videos on youtube of store clerks cheating and cashing and underpaying lottery winner. Pay somebody eight dollars an hour you get what you get.
I have an acquaintance who got fired for just this thing. Sure it can be done, but they can also lose their job.
Was just about to say the same thing. I've seen a number of stories in the US where store clerks will cash winning tickets for themselves. It's one of the reasons why Canada has you sign your lottery ticket and the monitor showing the outcome faces the person buying the ticket and not the cashier.
Nah. He was trying to scam them. If he really won $250 then he wouldn't be ok with them just giving him a new card.
This guy said “ you have a beautiful South Carolina day now” lol the best I get out here in PHX ,AZ is “ here’s your court date “ 🙄🙄
Haha I love how optimistic this cop is.
Keep them uploads up A&E!
I heard of scams on both sides , clerks scam you also the ticket buyer will try to scam , I heard it all already 2020
I hope all you guys have a beautiful South Carolina afternoon today

This cop is like Chief Wiggum from the Simpsons.
Some people want the ticket scanned without scratching it. And if a winner they keep the ticket. Thus you can't double collect.
In South Carolina once a ticket is paid out we do not give the ticket back to the customer. We hold onto it and staple our copy of the payout receipt to it and file it until we throw it away. So yeah everybody freaking out saying he's stealing, more than likely not. My guess is he did get paid out and they accidentally gave it back to him so he thought maybe I can do it again.
This guy is the best cop ever
2:45 woah Cpl. Furgal transition from goodbye to speaking-to-the-camera mode :O
American Cops are the best in the world! I am amazed with the amount of patience you show, the respect for diversity, professionalism, the ethics and integrity, respect for use of force, knowledge of the different types of charges on the scene, quick response to crime scenes, courage and bravery...I can't name it all. Kudos to you all. Long live America!!
I love this cop
A for effort, F for messed up, and no he won't phone anyone.
I worked at a gas station for a couple years, if a ticket is already paid out you’re not supposed to give it back to them at all
This is why they keep the winning tickets in my state.
And some stores tear the losing tickets halfway to show they have been checked.
In NC, AL, and TN the stores have to stamp and keep the paid out tickets. So maybe SC should just do that instead of stapling a receipt and giving it back to them lmao
usually when there is winner ticket after giving cash to customer they should not give the scratch of ticket back to customer because they can claim they never cashed it this was the fine example of that
It’s so easy to find out if he really bought that ticket from that store. All you have to do is match the code with other tickets that have not been sold yet. Because I work at a convenient store, I know how it is.
Handled it very professionally, I hate when people don't acknowledge your effort to be kind.
What a great cop
"have a beautiful south carolina afternoon" is that like how a disney when they don't like someone they say" have a magical day?" lol
A "Double Dipper"! 🤣🤣

The funniest part I know exactly which gas station that is I drive by it on a daily basis

Oh, what a joy that I live in South Carolina.
Legend has it he still hasn't called the South Carolina Lottery Commission...
When you cash in a ticket, they KEEP the ticket!!! The fact that the cop didn’t ask that question, why was it not kept, shows how stupid he is! And the fact that he has it in his possession means it was not cashed out or some kind of way he stole it back and I doubt he stole it

That's a nice officer.
Store clerks can be just as shady as a random dude who buys lottery tickets.

Great job officer!
I like this dude... Always having a good day xx
too bad they're pulling out the LivePD show
Before we all jump all over this guy, let it be known, that there are many lottery dealers who have been charged for exactly this kind of offense. They sit there and determine winning tickets, cash them in, then resell the tickets to customers. Not saying that's the case here, but it has happened- and quite a few times.
i forgot what this video was even about im more stoked on Furgal getting promoted
I feel like that gas station employee screwed that guy. I hope he goes to the lottery commission, I really don't think he's lying. He doesn't seem like the type of moron who doesn't know that they can check the ticket. He seems like he does a lot of scratch off and lottery, and just didn't want to make a scene in public and on national TV when he knows that he's right and is going to go about it the proper way.
If he genuinely won would he really be okay with getting a brand new $1 ticket instead of the $250 he was owed?

@@nabryankeene2549 agree with you, but as a white man who worked in the convenience stores for 10 years, the amount off times i saw cashiers scam customers is ridiculous , the lottery mandates that the winnning ticket must be taken before the payout, also the ticket must be stapled for proof, this man was taken advantage of, not cuz his skin colour, but because he is a old timer who doesnt know better
why Would you just assume he’s the one lying? He sounded like a pretty levelheaded guy. Really strange that you just say he’s trying to get double paid. That doesn’t seem to be the case
I agree with you, Scenario - What if a store employee checked out the tickets and this one was a winning ticket, cashed it out and put it back with all the others to sell. One does not know at this point.
