I like that interpretation. However, the scripture was written during the time of kings. If you wanted to have an audience with the king during this biblical time, you might want to come with a gift in your hand. For example, a bribe. Now we know that bribes are not good things. But men did this with kings during this day. Because the scripture was written before the Holy Spirit, it is not a spiritual scripture. We cannot bribe God, so no need to bring a gift to have an audience with God. He wants us to approach the throne freely.
