- I had a truly special opportunity to drive the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign! With a price tag of €1m plus taxes (or approx $1.2m) it's a celebration for the 50th anniversaries of both GT-R and Italdesign with a totally new look formed on a Nismo GT-R. With very few outings to date, this is a really exclusive opportunity to get a feel for what it's like.
The GT-R50 by Italdesign has an entirely new body wrapped over the latest generation of Nismo GT-R. It sits 54mm lower and as such as a very sleep appearance, with significantly more attractive bodywork than found on the regular GT-R models. In terms of performance it has a 3.8l TT V6 but now runs 710hp/780nm instead of the stock 600hp/652nm, with a reinforced gearbox, diff and driveshafts with improved Bilstein suspension and Brembo brakes too.
During my visit to Dubai, I was invited to head to the Dubai Autodrome to take part in an experience with the car out on track alongside perspective customers, giving me a very rare opportunity to present the GT-R50 to you on video. Of course it was a fantastic day, and an amazing chance to drive! Joining me in the video is Suhail Jefferies, father of racing driving Axcil Jefferies.

@@anyau In real life an 20 - 25 year old cars for 30k isnt cheap its rather expensive, You know its a legendary car yes but in the end its old and those who cost 30k is not ran little they are proper used cars. So no they aint cheap for being that old. The only price you pay is the badge nothing else. Be realistic. R32 and R34 wich is the most popular ones from the 90s isnt cheap. Lets see mitsubishi lancer evo from 2003 - 2004 is now in a price of 20k how is this cheap for its age, Toyota supra is around 30 - 40k. We say its cheap when it really isnt we just think its cheap because of how legendary these JDM's are.
I will admit, the Spoiler is kinda cool, but its not worth 1.2 Mil. I think it's worth 300K.
When I think of a gtr I'd like to imagine it at a Japanese car meet at night. That's the attractive looks alot of ppl are looking for.

Loved that moment! But anyway, we regular watchers weren't that cought by surprise as Tim had said at the end of last year before taking deliveries of the GT and Senna that he'd go on exciting adventures with those cars. Including far away corners of the world!;)
You guys will all just have to wait and see what the plans are when they are all set and ready to go into motion! It's going to be big though, I promise...

I was about to say this was the most beautiful Japanese design i have ever seen. Then I found out it was Italian.
Japanese are not good at body designing but Europeans are really good at it.
Fire Heart lc 500 was designed under a european designer xD. The rest are typical 90s which is by far the ugliest era of cars ever made xD. Especially Japanese cars from that era have the reputation of beeing fugly and only admired by fanboys. Same as american cars. But they got back on track recently and their new cars have a nice design. (But most of american car brands hire european designers xD).

The whole thing is dope, only it would look better without the gold accents, unless the gold was carried over the hood and roof as well, and minus the side accent. I just prefer a cleaner monochrome look.

Carfan 1 The price might even pop up to over 2 million (resell) depending on the demand. But seeing as this is literally a beefier GTR with Italian design (with only 50 being made), the likelihood of that happening is relatively high

This is one beautiful looking car and as far as the price tag I do understand why it's high. This car will certainly be the rarest of the rare and each one will be different from the others. Great job Shmee as always by bringing us the best of the best and everything else in between too.

Dubai is known for dust on roads specially at roads which dont have too much traffic. That air flow you saw in the intro of the video was just dust on the road.
They took that simplistic yet sporty design and threw it out of the window for a LuXuRiOuS, ExOtIc, OnE Of a kInd, EyEcAtChInG, pRiCy car.

I disagree....I think that it's actually FUGLY.
It's the best looking R35 ever in my view.
How is it uglier? I mean, I don't love the two tone, but the design itself is amazing. It looks like a GTR from the year 2100. It would be one hell of a beautiful car if it were all grey or all gold. Forgetting about the price, I really feel like some of these design elements should inspire a future GT-R.
Is it worth $1.2M? Probably not, but by no means is it ugly. Keep in mind how few were built and also the quality of design, fit and finish, materials, and performance upgrades. They didn't cheap out on it whether you think it's ugly or not. That is subjective. The quality of the car isn't.
The front isn’t so bad but the back is horrific
The headlights and a couple other bits of the design are nice. But it still doesn't look that good and would never pay 1.2M for that...I would say no more than 250k.
I think 150 tops. Even if it were under 100k I don't think many people would buy it anyways. This is a flop and the company that made this has horrible management if they think this is going to sell.

I would say the tail lights are cool, but I liked them on the new Ford GT first. I guess they couldn't come up with their own design, so they just stole someone else's.

That may be because its not a Skyline GTR. Its a GTR.
The Skyline GTR was about as GTR as a BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the 3 Series.
The R35 is not a skyline, its a GTR and the R34 and older were Skylines, not GTRs
The R35 GT-R is not based on the Skyline body of the same year, therefore it is not the highest trim level of the Skyline range. Instead its own model.
The Nissan GTR is its own unique platform not related to the V series Skylines Nissan should have never made whereas the Skyline GTR is based on a RWD Skyline body of the same year. No matter what higher trim level of the Skyline GTR it is (V-Spec or Nismo Z-Tune etc.) Its still a Skyline with a few badges to indicate the performance parts and power figures the car has been enhanced with and the same goes for the R35 GTR (Nismo/Black Edition/Premium etc.)
i bet they'll call the r36 NOTHING
they dropped the spirit of "skyline" from the GTR since early 2000s when they announced the skyline will change platform and be a completely different project that will be rebadged as an Infiniti G-series to support the growth of that brand, and the GTR will no longer be related to it. GTR hasnt meant skyline in almost 20 years now.
The regar R35 doesn't either. The SKYLINE GT-R was
1. A race car for the street
2. A car your family can use like a regular car
3. AFFORDABLE
The R35 is NONE of those things other than a race car.

As totally random as this might be I have to ask. Is the engine now in the rear of the vehicle? I don't see anyway that the back can be opened as a trunk given the fact that the rear wing is the way that it is. But still this car is so epic!
