  • We all learned in kindergarten that it’s good to share. Infiniti and Daimler take that concept to the cooperate level. Tom Voelk reviews the Infiniti QX30 AWD model.
    Car Reviews (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, etc.) on Lamborghini, McLaren, Ferrari, Dodge, Porsche, Range Rover, Audi, and more!
    About Tom:
    Tom Voelk is an award-winning automotive contributor to The New York Times. His podcast was the first to win an Emmy Award. He also married way out of his league. Now, stop reading this promotional copy bragging about Tom's photography and editing skills and watch a couple episodes. It's much more interesting.

    Hi Tom, love your videos. Hope to see you do more, your output is not as prolific as some other car channels. Also, you can link to the GLA video directly from this one. I'm sure you can get more clicks that way, not many people will bother to search your channel for it. All the best from Singapore!

      I do not know, but it is real wood with a teak finish. And it looks nice, better than the GLA interior if that's all you're comparing (though I hear that Mercedes has upgraded that cabin). Thanks for the atta boy! Glad you like the pieces.

    Tom, I enjoyed the review - and the "background" material, too! The car looked beautiful and is on my list. As is the Mercedes variant, tho I hear it's not as tightly wound as a Mercedes should be. The Infiniti sounds better after watching this review. Thanks!

      I noted "Like" - for the honest review by Tom and that when I'm shopping for a new car, I can review all my "liked" videos. Also "liked" because of Tom's effort in putting together these videos. I've been a fan of his ever since his video podcasts on iTunes. Great work Tom!

  • @davepaek5014
    @davepaek5014 7 лет назад

    Thanks again for your review. Great as always. One recommendation: When you do your Costco toilet paper measurement test, would you provide us a point of reference by comparing to another car? In this example, when you say it fits six packs with the seats up and twelve packs with the seats down, how many packs does say... a Subaru Crosstrek take? Would be nice to know. Thanks!

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Dave, that would take up too much time since I try to keep these videos informative but brief as not to waste people's time. Also, I don't know what each person is cross shopping so no one would be happy with the model I choose for comparison. Often I will point out a competitor if one is especially roomy or cramped.
      I suggest checking out the individual videos of the cars you're interested in. That way you get the full information and I get extra views. It's how I'm building towards world domination. Cheers!

    • @davepaek5014
      @davepaek5014 7 лет назад

      Thanks, totally understand. Perhaps easier to overlay the screen with a list of competitions and the toilet packs it can fit? My two cents :-) Looking forward to your next review!

    3:55 - Presuming a locked off and manually focused camera, what is the source of the weird wavy effect? Or is it real warm air?
    As for magically appearing car, why did you need to do it twice? Shoot a single sequence, then blend the ending with no car with the beginning. Maybe I did not get your approach.

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  7 лет назад +1

      Yes warm air caused that, I shoot through the rear door opening to get that shot. I shoot a lot of extra footage you guys don't see. Some day I might do three magically appearing cars!

    In Europe Infinity QX30 have 1.5 dci engine (Renault 1.5 diesel engine with 110 horse power), probably only engine they can sell on EU market, our gas prices are 10 times higher then you have in US. Same thing for Nissan Qashqai (that is 'Rogue' in US market), even entry level Mercedes GLA have that very famous 1.5 diesel engine !!!

    I could not hear clearly, was this top shelf model 46k or 36k? I hope it was the latter coz 46k would be 15k above the base price. That's nearly 50% more just for options. Highway robbery.

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  7 лет назад

      46K. These things happen when you add lots of options. Hey, you can add ten grand to the price of a Civic or Cruze.

      Do you memorize the lines or you have some sort of a prompter, like a tablet or just a sheet with printed text? Although you do not show yourself in a long continuous take.

    • @DrivenCarReviews

    • @DrivenCarReviews

      Oh, the stuff that's on camera? I just ad lib a bunch of stuff so I have choices, there's no script or teleprompter. Later on I write the voice over to go with the stuff I shot.

    I looked forward to this when the first word of it came out, but it really is a disappointment in most ways. Cramped, expensive, ride, handling, nothing special. Gives hatches a bad name. And weak looking wheels in those big arches, quite unlike the early renderings.

    • @munnjean
      @munnjean 7 лет назад

      You must own one then ??

    • @munnjean
      @munnjean 6 лет назад +1

      Amazing how individuals like you berate a vehicle that you obviously know next to nothing about and obviously don't own one ( or can't afford one ). In my opinion reviews and opinions regarding particular vehicles are only worth their salt from individuals that actually own the vehicle in question. Cramped ? ,,, not at all, simply any sensible individual buys a new vehicle that fits !! Expensive ? ,,, well considering a fully loaded Ford Escape Titanium was $ 2,700.00 more than our QX30 no, not " expensive " at all. Our QX30 is the AWD Premium model, and we negotiated a full coverage, no deductible extended warranty to seven years.
      The ride is excellent and the vehicle handles well, the 2.0. turbo with 208 hp married to the dual clutch seven speed transmission powers this vehicle as good as any out there.
      Your comment " gives hatches a bad name " is comical ,,, the vehicle is actually a crossover ,,, we were down to the choice of two vehicles, a 2017 Audi Q3 or the Infinity QX30, the QX30 was finished much nicer, and much more bang for our buck, the price difference was $ 3,3097.00 with the QX30 having more equipment.
      The QX30 certainly is not for everyone but it more than met our driving needs ,,,, have a nice day ,,,

    • @munnjean
      @munnjean 7 лет назад +8

      Absolutely nothing " awful " about this vehicle ,,, what ridiculous comments " the vehicle can't be driven smoothly " that's about the stupidest comment I heard in a while. " Brakes are aggresive ( learn to spell ) ,,, so what do you do at infinity ? lot sweeper perhaps ? car wash boy ? ,,,,,, I'm an actual owner and I think this is an excellent vehicle, perfect size for my wife and I, the 2.0 LT Turbo has plenty of up and go and married to the seven speed dual clutch transmission this vehicle is as smooth as silk.
      And no it's not " bad looking " at all looks very sharp and stylish, and when it comes to being expensive well again it's one of " you get what you pay for ".
      My QX30, AWD Premium model, we negotiated the detailing and undercarriage package and also negotiated the warranty extending the new car warranty up to seven years. In comparison my QX30 everything in cost me $ 3407.00 ( Can. ) more than a full load Ford Escape Titanium with a three year warranty ,,, the choice was a no brainer !!
      I only put stock in vehicle reviews from actual owners ,,, you read so many negative reviews from " experts " that don't actually own the vehicles ( they probably couldn't afford them anyway ) ,,,, have a nice day ,,,
