Today we're back playing with the Sturmtiger. This time we're doing "10 kills Cchallenge". I'll be trying to destroy 10 tanks in one match with the Sturmtiger.
It's not an easy task...
Sturmtiger was a World War II German assault gun built on the Tiger I chassis and armed with a 380mm rocket-propelled mortar. The official German designation was Sturmmörserwagen 606/4 mit 38 cm RW 61. Its primary task was to provide heavy fire support for infantry units fighting in urban areas.

I was able to do it in that Italy map, I played close support and killed whatever the hell wasnt being targeted (german teams not looking)
CAS is a total joke in Ground RB. I nearly always lose more Vehicles to CAS that other ground vehicles. Not only do you have to endure the revenge bombing but the constant spawn bombing and strafing is ridiculous!! They should put AI controlled AA around spawn points at least! Also make it far more expensive to spawn a plane and up the repair costs in ground RB.

Thats why I take the ME-162 at that BR for germany, if you know how to play it you can get 3-6 air kills before having to go back to the airfield to reload

There's so many planes at this br. The match turns into air RB after after like 4 minutes. That's great if you're playing with AA only

This video shows clearly why I left War Thunder for the moment (still love your videos doe), sometimes you login and say to yourself "Man, I want some tank on tank action" and you are welcomed by spawn camping planes and helis, on GROUND BATTLES. They should at least add some invincible AAs to spawns, and SAMs for higher tiers, raise their spawn/repair costs, allow them only on later stages of the battle or remove planes from ground battles entirely.

Not only the repair cost, but planes should be 1000 SP minimum, so that they work for the plane not just cap with a fast tank and then kill half of the team with a plane

11:43, One thing I like about WoT is status affects because it means that non-pens might still be useful.
Imagine just chilling in your tank and almost 300 lbs of TNT goes off right next to you.
I've gotten 6 after they made the rangefinder more accurate. Surely if I used a backup I would've gotten 10. It's possible.

I did not notice the difference from the last video. Still same inaccuracy. Unless they changed it in past few day? And it's very possible, the problem is you get bomb when you do good
@@DOLLARplays the problem is u get bomb. period. u dont need to do good, ur enemy needs to do good to get bombed
@@DOLLARplays it was a bug fix update earlier in the past week adding in 50m intervals for rangefinding. Previously the intervals were 100m, making you miss almost every shot. With 50m intervals you still get some inconsistencies (like if the target is 125m away you will range 150m), but generally the gap is smaller now and I've been doing better. In my experience.
Strangely enough, below 100m it's accurate down to the very meter. I've ranged 69m before and so on.
Might get easier if the BR change goes through...saw they were planning on dropping it to 5.7
I was so mad at CAS players I mained anti air only and shot down 9 aircraft in 2 battles,

I've done some calculations using wikipedias intel about the Sturmtiger. It had a V12 Gasoline engine with 700hp and a capacity of 23 litres. Using its 534 litre tank, it was able to drive 120 kilometers on the road or 85 kilometers in heavier terrain. The very economic Sturmtiger thereby consumend an astonishing 445litres/100kilometers (0,53 USMpg) in eco mode and 628litres/100kilometers (0,37 USMpg) in sports mode.

I remember a time when only a perfectly placed bomb or a direct hit from a rocket that also had to pass the penetration check actually killed a tank with decent armor. Now, even guns kill crew and set tanks on fire, from 1 km away, as if there is absolutely no bullet drop or kinetic loss whatsoever.

The thing is there was a simulation battle mode back in the day where there was no planes.
Gaijin is one of the few studio in the world that delete the good things of his game for a more casual experience

CAS def seems out of hand in some of these matches.. Though I always enjoy a montage of planes suffering.

Solution 1: Remove CAS entirely or add a CAS free mode.
Solution 2: Keep CAS (gross) but nerf it. Making it so it requires actual skill and a functioning brain to use. The planes will use simulator or realistic controls instead of arcade.
Bonus: Anyone getting in a certain radius of the spawn zone will have a 3 second timer before they detonate, if they go near it again to try and spawn camp, it's an immediate detonation, repair costs are doubled and your earnings are slashed in half for that match. This is coming from someone who was on a team getting spawn camped hard core. Half of the enemy team just lounged around out spawn. Hell, why not, for 5 more matches you will be branded as a camper and anyone can TK you without penalty, hell they should be rewarded too as you count as an enemy.
@@cogcog5264 I'm terrible at aa so i just take a. Bf 109 g6 with me and try and provide cover for my teammates, shooting down any plane that spawns

Or make there be a limit to how many planes can be up at once, make the repair cost higher or even just make it require more sp.I do hate it immeasurably I don’t even play air I just play ground but cas is part of the game but it’s way to easy to use
Love the Sturmtiger videos. Some days I just log into war thunder and play only SPAA. It's pretty relaxing gameplay, honestly, especially at ranks 2-4.

The Mighty Sturmtiger needs to a posse of SPAA and some escorting fighters. Only then can you readily achieve 10 kills without allied sky cancer ruining your fun.

Hey Dollar, your likelihood of getting bombed would go down drastically if you had a friend in a squad, in a fighter giving you cover from the air. Kinda like a guardian angel of sorts!

Man the feels from all that revenge CAS...
When in a ground vehicle and I see a plane hit the ground before the bomb does to take me out, I just think to myself "I must have been doing well this game", or I have a chuckle and say "well someone was mad".
On the odd occasion I can be bothered to spawn a plane myself I always try to see if any team mates need help, or if there is a big push going from the other team, and go for that instead of the revenge kill (I also try to keep my plane alive and make multiple runs, but sometimes derp happens and trees are a thing).
Only times I really go in for the "revenge kill" is when someone is sitting in a really scummy spot, spawn camping or something.
I noticed recently that a lot of people like spawning something like the PE8 and going straight for bombing the spawn, even when their team is losing the fight for capture points and stuff..
I am sad the game rewards no skill plays like that, they need to do reduced rewards for kills on players who spawned in the last 15 seconds or something to discourage it.
That's a developer problem. Players just use whatever is allowed. Even if I don't like something, I can't really blame them.
Oh yeah, I see a lot of Pe 8's. But there's some risk involved if you don't know what you're doing, like wiping half of your team 😂

to be honest, they need to x3-5 costs of planes in ground RB.. just look what Drones are doing to ground atm.. so people will think twice about taking there KA50 - MIG27k F5E or all those suicide bombers.
I didn't think the Sturm could reload 10 times in a match let alone get kills those 10 times.

Great video Dollar. This nicely shown us how CAS is stupidly strong and that only if you got good SPAA (which let's be honest, most nations doesn't have up to rank 5) you got a chance to do something. Unless there is 5 planes attacking you in the same time.
But no matter what CAS players will just say their dumb things like "jUsT tAkE SpAa oR pLaNe"
Well, that's the best spaa up to 8.0 you can't even get now. Most other spaa are open top, slow firing, lightly armored. I did a video with French low tier spaa, and it didn't go as well.
