Moving from Kansas City to Phnom Penh in Jan to take my TESOL course and teach for a few year while traveling Asia. Super excited! Thanks for the videos they help a lot
That’s awesome! I’ve also often thought about teaching out here, but haven’t found the time to take the certifications. Maybe I should get on that! 😂 We hope you enjoy it. This region is amazing and Phnom Penh is up and coming for sure! Let us know if you have any questions. 😁
Well you are in luck! Because our full length video comes out right now! You can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/pvWY9NJO2qs/видео.htmlsi=YL1WIOP6mBw4yp9C 😊🫶
It really has. We felt it was important to learn about it to gain a better understanding of the country. We’re so grateful to have spent time in Phnom Penh.
Yay! You finally made it to Cambodia. My husband is from there, they had to leave Cambodia because of the war there. I’m excited to go there and see his country.
Yes! We’re so excited. We loved our time in Cambodia, even if it did its best to challenge us! 😅 So sad what happened to the people of this amazing country. Hopefully you’ll get to return soon! Thanks for watching! 😊🙏
I am excited to see your videos from Cambodia. I’ve been there a couple times. When y’all go to the same places it brings back great memories. Leaving the bracelets there was perfect. It was time.
That's awesome. We really enjoyed it. It is such a beautiful country... though, we did face our challenges haha. What is your favorite destination in Cambodia? And we agree, there was no better time/place.
I was so excited to see this drop. Thank you for honoring all the people, culture and those innocent souls lost during dark times through your kind gestures and curious nerdiness 😛. I especially love how you said, Khmer the way we pronounce it, Khmai instead of kah-mair. Can't wait to see the rest of the series!
Ah, we're so happy that you enjoyed it! Yes, we learned (near the end of our trip unfortunately) that Khmer people pronounce it differently than we thought, so in our Voiceovers, we'll likely say it "Khmai" but in most of our talking bits in the vlogs it will probably be "Khmer." One of the main reasons we came to Southeast Asia is to visit Cambodia and learn more about the country, it's people/culture and history, so we're very grateful to have been able to see these places. It's such a shame, but hopefully a powerful lesson for future generations. Thank you so much for watching, we can't wait to share more! ✨
Oh. My. GOSH! 😍😍😍😍 Your pups are SO cute! 🥰🥰 Honestly, one of the highlights of our few days in Phnom Penh! We are so happy that you found our video and enjoyed it! Thank you so much for saying hello. 🤗
Kudos to you for going to the museums to learn about the darker history of Cambodia. One of the British Army garrisons in Germany was near to Belsen. Many of us during our time, visited Belsen. It's emotional, and hard going, but we felt it's as though we owe it to those that lost their lives to remember them. I've also been to numerous sites in Northern Europe relating to WWI, and on my bucket list is to go to Kanchanaburi in Thailand in particular the Commonwealth War Graves of WWII.
Learning about the history of places, especially of tragic events that shape the entire culture and development of a country like what happened here in Cambodia is integral to gaining the full understanding of the country and it's people. We never knew we were history buffs until Kanchanburi actually. Ashley wanted to visit, and we did. I'm not sure if you've seen our video about it or Hellfire Pass, but even though that wasn't a particularly well performing video, it was one of our favorites to film. We owe it to the people affected to gain perspective and understanding of what goes on in these places that we're fortunate enough to visit as tourists. I believe that everyone should visit this museum, and others like it.
@@mikeandashley I'll have to check out those other videos. Tbh, I think there is far more to be gained by being true to yourself and being authentic, rather than chase the metrics. People visiting a place because it is 'instagram worthy', very odd. I think you've got it right, do what makes you feel fulfilled and other people will recognise that. 100%, we do owe it to those that have been impacted by such events. Take care both of you.
Thank you so much!! 🙏 We only used Riel during our time here. It was better when breaking larger bills for change. Plus, it’s pretty strict on the quality of bills they will/wont accept. So if they are worn or have small tears or errors, they won’t accept them as they are charged fees to exchange them. So be aware if you use USD to make sure any change you receive is in good condition. 😊 We didn’t run into this except for one time with a well worn $10, but now we just have it for safe keeping. 😂
Wow, so I went to school (Howe) with Ashley and stumbled upon your blog. Super weird but pretty awesome. I currently live in Alaska, travel to Thailand all the time (wife is Thai) and also travel all over the world whenever my wife makes me! Maybe I will find myself where y'all are someday and you can have a guest appearance!
Wow, that's so crazy! We actually lived in Healy for four years before traveling to Thailand. Where in Alaska do you live? It would be great to catch up one day! Thank you soooo much for supporting our channel. Hope you are well! 🥰❤️

Thank you for sharing your experience in Cambodia! If you do come across a Buddha amulet made out of wood, you should consider purchasing it. It is believed to provide good luck and to ward off evil or bad luck. Furthermore, it is handcrafted, which makes it a rare spiritual antique. Enjoy your trip! 🙏 🫶
Nice thumbnail. Hope you enjoy your 2 day trip to Phnom Penh, even though the weather is unpredictable on your 1st visit. That's good that you stay 3 days in Phonm Penh to explore the city. I didn't know you visit Cambodia for the 1st time because last year, your visiting Laos. What date did you film, how's the English level, 50/50 or 75% and do they accept card in some places that you eat and do you remember how much you pay to stay in a hotel for 3 days?
Thanks @kevin19358! Yeah, we visited Laos, then returned to Thailand to stay in Bangkok for a month before heading to Vietnam. For some reason, we just skipped over Cambodia and I'm not sure why. English was actually quite good in our experience. There were obviously some times that we needed to pull out a translator, but less than you'd imagine. 65%? We filmed in June-July of this year... it was very hot. We were very surprised at how many places accepted credit card. They also use grab, grab pay and have an app called Namm24 that's really good for food service and paying for things. I believe our accommodation was only around $60 USD for 3 days. But I will say, we got a good deal.
My favourite Amercian Vloggers... not loud and obnoxious as some others..😉 Great storylines and photography is definitely getting better every episode ! Very respectful trip and vlogg editing to the Museum & Killing Fields..🙏 Keep up the good work guys your vloggs are appreciated 😊

Oh wow, that’s odd, they definitely told us we weren’t able to film and there were still signs around. They even made us put our camera bag in a locker. I wonder if it’s because we have a larger camera setup and not our phones or something? 🤔 Thanks for letting us and the other viewers know though! 🙏
