Same, i played it solo all the time. Used to play with my sisters. I was zargon becauze im older and it was my game. They stopped playing because they said i cheated. In other words they were bad at it and didnt want to play
Better to use cursors to move the characters. That way you will trigger traps when heroes step on them and also when you press a cursor key into a door it will open the door and only reveal the visible line of sight rather than the whole room which gets revealed by right clicking->reveal location.
Ah nice! I was just looking around on how HQGM worked to find a video that uses my Tabletop Simulator HeroQuest mod to demonstrate it! Albiet my mod has updated more by now, but still very much the kinda video I am looking for to see if it was legit. Just updated Hero Quest: Master Edition recently actually, Added over 200 dreaded "Modular dungeon tiles" and an extra space zone.
Thanks! I have made a new sticky post on my mod that leads to this video plus instructions on how to use HQGM. Hopefully this can help people get into playing Hero Quest that otherwise would not.
Of course you can play the original game alone? Sure, if you are the player and the GM the element of surprise is missing, but dice luck is still dice luck. I for sure played it a ton of times on my own when no friends for it were available and it's just as much fun. And a great way to test out new campaigns you created.
the switching back and forth between HQGM and tabletop simulator is a bit tedious. Isn´t there any mod where HGQM is directly implemented into tabletop simulator?
The PC game can't hold a torch to the board game, so learning how to play solo is useful-practice being Morcar/Zargon before inviting your friends to play, or just amuse yourself. (/(=^_^=)\) EDIT: I didn't realize this is a much later PC version, hence why I thought I was looking at the actual game board rather than the Gremlin Interactive version. System requirements for v2.6?
The board game version of _HeroQuest_ probably isn't much fun playing solo. The board game version of _Memoir '44_ plays better as solo than _HeroQuest,_ though it's a completely different game.
Go to the tabletop simulator on steam then click on the workshop tab which is on the row of tabs under the play button. Search the workshop for heroquest, you will find plenty to choose from.

Right click on the installation exe file and click on the compatibility mode tab. Try running it in Windows XP Sp3, if that doesn't work try other XP modes. That should fix it.
Yes, The HQGM has the Following expansions ready to go: Against the Ogre Horde Barbarian Quest pack Elf Quest pack Keller's Keep Return of the Witch Lord> Wizards of Morcar The Tabletop simulator also has the Quest packs such as the extra monsters etc.
I actually prefer physical. I've bought 2 physical expansions and seeking to get the other expansions but of them being $1,200 it's a bit of a stretch.
Ive seen the base game sealed sell for around £250 which is around $330. I know some of the expansions can fetch a lot more than the base game but not that much..!
It looks tedious to me. I still prefer the original 1vs4 system, I think it's the better way to play HQ. For solo play, there are many other games specifically designed for that.
Skip to 3:18 to see HQGM being shown.
Played the original game always solo due to lack of people that were interested in trying it out.
Worked quite well!
Same thought here.

I'll take a look into that.
I am definately getting this!
The hasbro app i think also downloads onto your phone and can DM too.
yea, you can also use that with the PC if you have software to imitate a phone

It's a great mod Cebi, thanks for all your hard work :)

I'm working on a UE4 version
I literally have Blender open right now to get started on a Unity version... lol. Should I bother with it?
I think the gargoyle has been painted otherwise he would be gray. I think they made him a marble statue kind of thing

I was finally able to figure out how to download this but the only quest available is the Trial. Can anyone help please
They should be in the file tab 3:30
They may not show when looking into the game directory.
Wow, that's awesome. Just got the board game again. Where can I get this version?
Links are in the description for the downloads.
I don't see this game on the steam table top simulator list, how can I get it.
Go to the tabletop simulator on steam then click on the workshop tab which is on the row of tabs under the play button.

That's Mentor not Zargon
Hi! I cannot install HQGM. Tried all compatibility modes and admin mode... :( It always gets stuck when installing the font file. Any ideas?
Found the solution. :)
@@leanderquest I was going to suggest installing the font separately, what did you do to get it to work?

Ok. I see that Tabletop Simulator cannot automatically run the game. Can Scripting be added to Tabletop Simulator?
yes it can be added

You need to purchase the tabletop simulator first.
Once you've bought it you can download heroquest plus thousands of other games for free.
How do you get all the assets on the same side as the game board?
I got an error trying to install HQGM 2.6 saying "Cannot create the following file C:\Windows\Fonts\Caxton Bold.$$A"

Thank you that worked
Melon Pumpkinhead I did the same thing but only 1 quest is available...
Now I was just able to choose any of the quests, no problems...now since I closed it and tried to go right back to them, I get run time errors

I only own the Base game, I don't think I could ever justify the cost of the expansions, the prices are crazy.
I saw the basic box game and 3 or maybe four expansions in shrink wrap claiming they were never opened for $11,200 ... come on now !
