    Hello Benjamin! I am a beginning VJ astist and trying to use Touchdesigner as a way to make visuals, to later use them in resolume. Is there any way you could help me evovle? I'd like to up my game by using a kineckt1 to make the particles flow by movement. I know it is possible, i have seen some vids where they used point cloud with a kineckt2. But the kineckt i have is a version 1, there are no vids on how to do it without a kineckt or just a camera. Is there any way i could still manage to get my particles connected to an outline through the kineckt?
    Kind regards,
    Fitjenza

      Hi! You could try to use a trace SOP with the infrared image of a kinect to get a shape and then use it as the surface attractor for your particle SOP, never tried it but it might get you closer to what you want to achieve !

    Hey, great tutorial! I found the particle system a little unresponsive due the nature of the particle simulation - I was initially hoping to use this in an audio reactive installation, but it looks like I'll have to stick with my instancing set up unless you have any tips on making the particle systems more immediately responsive?

    • @BenjaminCarrierDesign
      @BenjaminCarrierDesign  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately I don't, for an audio reactive work, instancing would definitely be the best option in my opinion and you can instance particles. If you are into more advanced techniques, I would suggest looking into GLSL shaders to create the system

    Hi thank you so much for this tutorial, but when I drag the ramp to my particle the whole preview’s particles disappeared.and they only visible when I set the alpha value of the particle not to 0 or 1, if you could help me out with this issue?

      Is your material point sprite? And are they rendered as point and not line?

    • @f.e.n.g.p
      @f.e.n.g.p Год назад

      @@BenjaminCarrierDesign yes, it’s point sprite and I’m not sure where to check the rendered format, but in the point sprite settings, there are properties like ‘constant point scale’ attenuate point scale’ do they mean rendered as point?

    Umm my particle looks to crowded until the shape is not very visible...so how can I reduced those praticles or maybe how can I organise those particles into shape?

    • @BenjaminCarrierDesign
      @BenjaminCarrierDesign  2 года назад

      You can change the number of particles with their birth and life length, or you can change their size in the material, hope this helps!

    Hello!
    Can you tell the settings from the pattern chop?

    • @BenjaminCarrierDesign
      @BenjaminCarrierDesign  3 года назад

      You can link the pattern to the "select input of the switch SOP. you can play with the settings, but a sin wave with amplitude and offset at 0.5 to make values go between 0 and 1 will let you change between two shapes

    how to make a loop of this?

    • @BenjaminCarrierDesign
      @BenjaminCarrierDesign  3 года назад +1

      unfortunately, it's pretty tough to create a loop since particles are generated by the software and you don't have control on a way to loop them
