Very well said, I can relate. Hit home when you said we can’t take it with us when we are gone, but I am sure as hell going to enjoy the hell out of my collection while I’m here! Awesome video!
Started collecting movies because growing up we were poor and we’d always have bootleg tapes taped from tv or other tapes and the quality would be so bad, but we’d still watch them. It was kind of a rare occasion that we’d spring for a real movie and that always felt so special to me. I just love owning the real physical copies since then and it’s just carried over.
This was a fun watch dude! I’ve had SHOCK EM DEAD in my collection for probably 10 years because I remember you saying in a video way back when that your dad was in it. :) My story isn’t much unlike yours. My Dad was a big collector. Comics, toys, movie posters, some autographs. And I loved renting movies and “escaping” as a kid. Put those things together - I have become a movie/comic/toy/autograph collecting fiend. 😂 But it goes deeper than that. So many things in my collection have memories attached to them. Memories of when I bought them, where I was at, how I felt. Almost like a photograph. I love picking something off my shelf, having those flashbacks, and then thinking - this looks exactly like it did X amount of years ago when I bought it.
Great video bro and insight on how started collecting and that your dad was a big inspiration for it. Definitely rad all the boxers he met and films he was a part of. I have Shock Em Dead on tape! Such a fun one!
Woooohoooo ... it's so fun to collect 🎉😂 I see you look like your Dad‼️I'm so impressed with what you do🎉 My Dad watched movies with me too. I feel closer to him and he loved Star Wars just like me. Darth Vader was his favorite character!
Great video Brennan! I’ve been collecting myself for a very long time. Film its self has always served as an escape for me. Especially through very tough time times in my life. Collecting physical media has always insured that I still have that escape when I want to. Thanks for the great inspiration and content.
Damn i never knew your dad was this cool, i love your collection dude! That is one hobby anyone should be proud of! That Ali signed mag is something I'd keep for ever and pass it down to my kids!
This is the first time I’ve heard you say you were in special ed/had a learning disability. That’s brave of you to say, dude. I’ve enjoyed your videos over the years and I hope you always keep it going! 🤘🏻
That's a cool story! I collect movies too and I think it also started with my family taking me to drive-in theaters. My brother and I really enjoyed it!
Great story. Makes sense collecting physical media, since your dad. It's both something you shared a passion for. You will always have those memories. It might not be a bad thing to, talk about them on the channel every now and then. And pretty neat he, was in 'shock 'em dead' and an extra in the classic Raging Bull.
As a kid, I started collecting bottle caps. But it just took a few weeks and I grew tired. Around that time I noticed I had a bunch of erasers since I drew much, and every time we were on a longer trip somewhere, erasers was the thing I got. So I started collecting. While it wasnt the biggest of collections, I did manage to get a bunch to fill up a plastic 2 liters ice cream box that I to this day has stored. But I have taken the erasers from it since I am today an tattoo artist.
Pretty much the same story for me. I did not have an ideal childhood, but my happiest times were at the video store and used book stores, looking for movies.
The boxer at 6:30 in red shirt is Ruben Olivares. He is considered one of the greatest Mexican and all time great fighter of his generation. He is still alive today.
Brendan what ever makes you happy, makes you happy. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different. I like watching your videos because you are honest, and they make sense. But I also see you love movies, and of course I love movies too!
Movies/ tv/ art/ books/ sports take us out of our reality. If you like to collect things that take you away for a couple hours, have at it. Life isn’t easy, and if you can keep things that take you out of your world, to escape, that is great. You have to ask yourself, does it make you money, or does it make you happy? If your answer is, no, then don’t do it. Enjoy your collection, and don’t let others bring you down.
Your dad is a star! I can see your dad in you…..thank you so much for the video my friend. Any chance we can see a photo of you and mom? Yeah, friends is always tough to try and get, and I’m like you, I’d rather just hide at home and watch movies and play games, and read. More enjoyable, and don’t have to worry about name calling and getting picked on. I collect to loose myself and have fun.❤
Great vid Brenden. Neat that you’re sharing about your dad. My folks passed away a few years ago and I miss them every day. Really enjoyed watching this✌️
You don't know me, I'm just a casual viewer, but I've been subscribed for years and it's neat to hear some of the back story! I'm not into collecting anything myself, but your passion for it is pretty obvious, keep it up! I'm gunna watch that movie later if I can find it!
I started collecting disney vhs I loved disney as a teen mostly and I loved music so I collected cds and everything I can get my hands on that was disney built up a large cd collection and disney collection. I moved from vhs to dvd and was able to get large amounts of dvds at pawnshops so I started the movie collecting and as I had to move a few times and my Disney room had to be boxed up I started to slim down my disney and build up my movies... I still love music but really don't collect cds anymore but still have over 1,200 and a few boxes left of Disney stuff. My movie collecting kept growing and I love the hunt. I go everywhere and find movies. Now for three or more years I have been upgrading to Blu-ray. The love of you and other physical media collectors on youtube keep me buying and upgrading all the time.
Dope video! I collect for the love of movies. Growing up; my dad rented a lot of movies and it was a good time bonding. Action movies are my thing 💥💥💥💯😎
Especially in a era in a streaming service era ❤ also. You continue to do what you love. I love physical media. I don't like movies that are connected to the internet.
I'm a investor/collector. I enjoy collecting things I like, but I plan on selling most of my collection when I retire to ensure I never have to go back to work again.
Great story about your dad. I don't have a big collection maybe 120 blurays some dvds i only buy movies i really like, other than that I'd stream movies. I never upgraded to 4k blu-rays, it's too expensive. I can watch some 4k streaming probably not as good as physical media. But it will do.
i collect vinyl record albums because i feel it brings me closer to the music. the act of playing the record makes me more involved also seeing the artwork.
Great Story Brendan my Dad gave me a couple of dvd movies previews for me to have a look at and got me into it and being in a disablity social organization living service we went to diffrerent shops to go and buy movies with the spending money we all got at weekends to buy and since then I've got lots of movies some say I've got too much but now I'm hooked on buying movies blu ray movies and dvds like you said it makes me happy I enjoy watching movies and collecting movies something I enjoy bye from Rhett.
yeah while were alive might as well make the most of it right? movies are ideas and experiences put on film and so it can have meaning and connections to people, as long as it makes u happy just keep collecting, for me i collect art and photos that have moods and atmospheres 👍
I would say your specific collection is pretty solid Brendan, it just needs some organization so you don't look like an impulsive hoarder at best, or a manchild stuck in his nostalgia at worst. Obviously collecting physical media is a bit outdated, but I think you make up for it with a couple of gems that are very difficult to find. But the reality, that's most collections out there, tons of crap with maybe one or two gems. I would say your only issue is you hold on to some stuff that you should probably discard. You should really dissect your collection and sort it with things that are rare and make that the center of your collection, and have the other stuff on the side. Like some guys will have "Americana" collections where they own a very rare superman comicbook as their center piece. Yours could be a "Hollywood" theme collection.
I collect because it's fun for me also im autistic so I feel more for the characters and get attached to them on a emotional level more than a normal person would. Example the cast of NCIS is my second family. Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, McGee, Abby, Ducky, and Palmer.
I collected since I was a teen just always like to have a physical copy with picture hold it every the art I collect cds , movies , video games and dvd , blu ray , VHS I have signatures but mostly bands some comics I got one movie signed the Room by Tommy Wisue lol
The boxers posing with your father are all former champions in different weight classes. In order, they are Archie Moore, Ruben Olivares and Larry Holmes.
You are truly amazing guy Wet1 who can do no wrong IMO, the skies the limit for ya!…Shout out to Jamie Lee Curtis-Please sign Wet’s OG “Halloween” poster!!
Nothing wrong with you Brandon I collect physical media like you and funko pops,I just picked up ultimate warrior hall of fame funko pop from gamestop..I recommend getting if you can since he passed away might be valuable down the road
I started following after leafyishere did a video on you when you went to that comedy club and met Shaun Weiss and Ron Jeremy. Shaun Weiss was a real ass to you on that episode.
Brendan I can only afford to collect Movies I mean I'd love to collect Autographs and stuff like that. But my parents just couldn't afford that. But anyway I started collecting Movies because of you and Danny and OGP. It's because y'all love Movies so much so y'all are the reason I started collecting. Love u buddy 💞😁
I think that’s how most of us film geek aficionados started out. By our parents love of film. It’s endearing my mother used to take me to the movies every weekend The Milford Fourplex. I didn’t know at the time but those were some of the best times. Good memories. Years later my first job was in a video store‼️🤔
Great stuff, Brenden. I had no idea your dad was involved in some movies. Thanks for sharing.
Very well said, I can relate. Hit home when you said we can’t take it with us when we are gone, but I am sure as hell going to enjoy the hell out of my collection while I’m here! Awesome video!
I haven't watched wetmovie for years, I have missed you! great watch!
Lol, nice you put the RLM clip in there. Whenever you mention that movie I think of their review.
Started collecting movies because growing up we were poor and we’d always have bootleg tapes taped from tv or other tapes and the quality would be so bad, but we’d still watch them. I started collecting when I quit drinking in 2019

Love the more personal videos Brendan, movies are what bring us together and show us all we aren't alone.
Awesome Video Buddy 💯 dude I'm glad you finally showed your dads scenes from the Shock Em Dead 🤘 keep up the amazing content brother 😎 #WetmovieCrew
Great video bro and insight on how started collecting and that your dad was a big inspiration for it. Definitely rad all the boxers he met and films he was a part of. I have Shock Em Dead on tape! Such a fun one!

That’s so awesome, your dad actually looked like you and Gabe had a love child 👍
I gave my wife the same answer when she ask me why I collect. It makes my happy and I am going to enjoy it while I'm here.
Great video Brenden!! Keep up the good work.
Woooohoooo ... it's so fun to collect 🎉😂 I see you look like your Dad‼️I'm so impressed with what you do🎉 My Dad watched movies with me too. I feel closer to him and he loved Star Wars just like me. Darth Vader was his favorite character!
