  • My first attempt at targeting squid/chokka. I thought it was gonna be easy but man are they fussy buggers and was I wrong.
Awesome weather, no wind and flat water.
Kalk Bay in the evenings are really worth the trip... to grab a bite to eat, come fish or take a stroll around.
Kalkies fish and chips my bru!!!

Nice video man. Do you recommend yamashita lures for jigging?

Howsit Terence which lures should I buy starting out. I see DTD and yamashita lures are hard to come by.

Hi there..I got Squid Hunter from big catch ...reasonably priced..around R90 each. Got 3 colours..green ..pink/red..and blue...enquire when you there..they very helpful. Get into it first before buying top class jigs...some swear by certain brands but test the waters. Each day can be different ..tight lines bud

@@terencesimpson100 im looking to invest in an estuary fishing rod ie, I want to catch my own chokka and then I want to use the same rod with small paddle Tails for fun fishing. The rod I'm looking at is a 7ft3 10g - 42g. Otherwise I'm looking at the same rod just 7g - 28g. I thought the first might be a good option. Which would you aim for? Thank you for the advice by the way. Tightlines brother

10g to 42g John suggests...catching chokka will be at a much slower retrieve rate obviously...it will do the trick but Not ideal for chokka but can make do if he can't afford a chokka rod now. Hope it helps bud.
