It is almost a good fitness watch but... Heart rate is inaccurate (for me) when running as it locks on to my running cadence not heart rate so I have to use an external sensor. The GPS track is inaccurate (smoothed) so you cut corners, lots of broad sweeps. It does not upload HR data to Strava. It does not link to TrainingPeaks. You can't download the data directly (.fit or .tcx formats) so essentially a closed ecosystem. No calendarised structured training. No website to peruse running data. In fact, come to think of it, not a good fitness watch.😐
Calendarised structured training... that's something that I was really looking for in a watch. In fact, a good running interface in a clock. (I currently use a borrowed Coros, but I wanted to buy my own... The watches are super expensive here, but it's hard to beat the racing environment of this one)
A delete option to remove wrong naps times that are automatically added to sleep score is needed otherwise the sleep scores / trends is useless and inaccurate. Watching TV or meditating are not napping yet the watch sometimes sees these as naps; and should not be automatically added to sleep score without the ability to delete / correct.
Have the GT2, just ordered the GT4 in metal strap style. The battery life is amazing on the GT2. My Samsung watch gets 2 days max on a charge, which is not good.
So after more inspection with the problem I have with the GT4 heart-rate sensor during a workout the accuracy is actually perfect no problem at all,the problem is the HR sensor during normal day to day use when there is no exercise mode on it goes to 151 bpm which is fine but then just stays there and won't go above it no matter what .Would anyone have a reason why this would be?

if your heart rate goes to 151bpm during normal day to day use, you should go to the hospital.
It just goes to show how lazy you must be if that's the case..I go on 4/5 mile fast walks with my dog most days and that includes a lot of hills and steps so my heart rate or anyone else's for that matter at times during that time hits the 160/170s but on average it's 133bpm. The watch continually freezing at 151 bpm shows there's a fault in it but if you don't reach those heights during the day or any other time outside of a workout mode shows maybe you are not the fittest of people
@@kop1986 "The watch continually freezing at 151 bpm" Does it still do that? Mine is showing 115 max and 43 min for today but I didn't do anything intensive today. While running a 5K last week it went up to 188 so it seems fine on my part.
@@nukez88 Hi thank you for a polite response unlike others on different threads ..The problem continued unfortunately, during workouts it was perfectly fine it was during everyday normal when not using a workout that the issue happened ,I have since purchased the Huawei watch 4 pro just waiting for it to arrive. thank you .
Great comparison video. I'm disappointed Huawei did not use sapphire glass on the GT4. I'm scared to get the GT 3 Pro because Huawei stopped suppoprt for my GT2 Pro, and it's already 2 years old.
Hello. Thank you for all your reviews, I appreciate how you present the information. I have a few questions you may be able to address in future posts (or signpost me if you've already done it). I'm looking for a smartwatch, but I've killed loads of watches over the years. I sweat a lot! I'm a firefighter and very active during the working day (and night), so rugged, sweat proof and heat proof watch with a long battery that will survive a real job.....but my biggest problem is I'm dyslexic, phone apps (well, most writing) is hard to understand. Is the companion phone app easy to use? Can I link the watch and use it without needing to read too much information? And can the watch be operated without too many words? Mostly - and here's something I've not seen in most reviews, but I'm hoping it's a thing...if I'm delayed on an emergency call and need to text my family to say I'll be late home (or okay), can the watch gt4 or similar, text from the watch (as I can't get my phone out of my pocket with full fire kit on)? Thank you, and keep up all the good videos.
thanks for youre in-depth review I just got mu GT 4 today ,it looks nice nice coming from the GT 3 pro but do yoy know how to change the AOD style this option seems to be missing 😭 thanks again for the great video
Amazfit has a plethora of metrics that you can get on high-end watches costing 4 to 5 times as much. However, all those are useless as Amazfit sucks on accuracy. I know as I used to have the GTR3 Pro. It's a fine smartwatch but well below average when it comes to health and fitness tracking.
i ended up buying the Balance as the Huawei was years behind in the metrics, analytics and features. Three weeks later, I must admit that I'm happy I went for this one as there have been huge improvements on accuracy, metrics and analytics. When it comes to motivation and incentive, I believe this watch is second to none. It still has its flaws but they are well compensated by its virtues.
I mainly use GT2 as alarm and notifications only. Excellent battery life after 2 years of use. Waiting for it to die so that I can buy gt4 with better dynamic watch face. GT 2 is too boring .
Wish i had seen this video earlier . This watch is very disappointing, apart from the looks and battery life, really isnt much else. Buggy sensor, very very inaccurate step counts and HR reading is a hit or miss

there is a youtube video where the guy compares the hr sensor to the polar 10 and it pretty much matches it perfectly. So no, the hr reading is not hit or miss.
i have the gt4 pro max for a few months now...& the 41mm nini for the old lady. i just got 28 days battery...i accidentally left it charging overnight. in the morning it said 'charging complete'...as opposed to me just looking for the 100%. so i tried it with the 41mm...& she got 16 days until down to 20%. obviously...we only have the basics...no always on, no messages, no sleep checking, etc. just health & tracking manual when needed... but at least 20 times a day. so gave the samsung watch 6 to the gardener...at least he loves it. 2 of my best gadget buys ever...&;u buy a sh!tload of electronic gadgets all the time. have not taken my omega seamaster out of the automatic watch winder for 2 months now...even for fancy dinners...ha ha. god bless china...korea not um norm...whoop whoop. 🙏🏽🇨🇳
I wish they add keyboard and record message to Huawei Watch GT 4
I have the GT3, was looking at upgrading but not worth it. Thanks for the video
Can you go for outside runs with the GT 3 and it trucks the track and distance without a phone ?

Are you sure you wear the watch at the right place and tied enough on your wrist?

How do you stop the watch from taking over your calls?
Love the watch, but if I can't sort this issue out I will have to get rid of it unfortunately.
Try going into the Health app permissions on your phone and deselect the permission for phone calls.

It's a Great design, with really good features. I think the keyboard should be added.
So just to confirm you cant respond messages on this watch right ?
no, but you can on Watch 4 or 4 pro.
Can You answer phone calls as well without having mobile?

After 2 years, are your smartwatch already lagging and slow? How about the battery?
Is it okay to conclude smartwatch's longetivity is only 2 years?
5 hours sleep man.. You're working too hard! 😁 Thanks for the review. I've got the GT4, not for fitness, but for health and aesthetics. Love it.
Amazfit balance looks better and it has nfc
Have you used it for fitness tracking?
Amazfit is horrible when it comes to HR tracking.
balance is not nearly as good at heart rate tracking.
Not massively bothered about that

There’s many different specs… what a joke. The GPS and heart sensor are completely different …. research before you spew false information.
