I can totally see that as well. I think it just requires a bit of extra prep than most other DCC adventures but I completely get this not jiving with some people. If you do end up running it, I hope it goes well for you!!
Looking into it for the future as I still can’t get the DCC core rulebook, it’s been sold out where I can reasonably shop in Canada. We actually have the weird dice and several side things but can’t actually play yet. But DCC seems really fun.

If your investigation game is going to fast just add a lonely old man who just wants someone to talk to. We've all been there and you can stretch the RP out as much as you like.
