Nice job!! I actually saw that car at Mosport. I remember it as well as the later 917/30 extremely vividly. The turbo punched out so much power that you could feel the vibrations in your chest. No car before or after ever had that effect on me. Simply incredible!
The Porche looks excellent Bryan. Your driver came out great too. I probably wouldn't have noticed the louver decal situation if you hadn't pointed it out. Terrific job on the little build!
WOW Bryan, that looks amazing! It’s hard to believe that it’s in such a small scale. The decals, paint, and figure just make for a great presentation. Sometime could you do a demo video on using magnets in your builds? Hope that you and Mrs. BG have a great weekend 😃
Nice shoutouts. You did an excellent job building that kit. Even with the decal issues and the issue with the frame, it looks amazing. Definitely a great model to enter in a small scale category in a contest. Thanks for sharing.
Looks FANTASTIC!!! Definitely better than mine, no doubt!!! Yep, IndyCal makes several more liveries of the kit so grab you some more!!! So glad you and Shawn will host again next year, I cannot wait. I am loving these 1:32 cars of all types, so fun and shelf space savers to boot!!!
Thank you so much Tommy! I'm going to keep my eyes open for more of these kits! I definitely want to do another one! Fully agree about being shelf friendly!! Lol.
Saving the best for last eh Bryan? 😁 Awesome work there. I remember seeing this kit at Woolworth's when I was a kid and passing on it many times. Now I love it. The detail is really well done. You made it look like a larger scale.
I built the kit when it came out in the late 70's as a boy - no painting, just plain plastic and decals. But i took more interest in the tires. First i cut away the flash with a razor blade and then sanded away excess vinyl with a file and fine sand paper. The ultimate result came, when i experimented with my late 70's Carrera 132 Universal Ferrari F1 312 T and Porsche... As i wanted to have the tires of my Slotcars with tire markings like those seen on TV, i cut and sanded away the name of the supplyer of the rubber tires from Carrera - Continental - and painted Goodyear Markings to my Porsche 911 RSR's tires. For the Ferrari i wanted to shorten the process and looked for alternatives, which came in the form of the Matchbox Porsche 917/10 tires. I had hoped they would have an Goodyear, or Dunlop outline at the flanks, only to fill in some white colour. This didn't materialise, as there were no markings. But as i had the Ferrari out on the track i tried the Porsche tires on the F 1 anyway. To my surprise they fit the wheels of the Carrera Slotcar and off it went...! Due to the vinyl material of the tires the car slid excessibly over the track at first. But after a few rounds the behaviour of the racer got better and wasn't bad after some 10 rounds... But the true effect came at the pits, when i took the car off the track to return the Porsche it's loafers! - The friction between the hard Carrera - track and the slightly softer vinyl tires transformed the tire surface to a very original used racing tire look! So the tires look most realistic on my 45 year old, not so professionaly built model...😂
Great shout out Bryan! Speaking of great that is exactly the result of your small scale group build for 2023 awesome awesome awesome! Glad you put the driver in there totally cool
Very nice job Brian, on the Porsche 917/10! Back in the 80's, I built the Matchbox version, I painted it silver with the Martini Racing livery, and I still have it 😃
@@BGsModelWorkshop Maybe your version from AMT is the CAN AM version for USA, and the Martini version from Matchbox is for Europe. Does this make sense?
I'm going to ask a newb question. I've decided to paint the driver for my Kraco Indy Car. His fire suits is supposed to be yellow. A black wash would seem to me to be a bit too stark, maybe gray or a brown?
Hi John, I feel a gray wash would be good. Brown might appear muddy or dirty. Check out this video, I follow him for his military build and I get some great inspiration from his treatments! ruclips.net/video/yoN2m_c-wfY/видео.html

Hi Ken, great story man, so cool you got to see the real deal run!! I would have loved to have seen, heard and felt that as well!

Thanks Brandon! Glad you could hang out for awhile and check out the build! 😁
Nice shout outs! The model looks awesome, can’t tell where you had the decal problems. Thanks for sharing Bryan! 😎🇨🇦
Thank you Peter!! I tried my best to fix it! Probably not show quality, but I am happy with it

That looks awesome, my friend! Very nicely done 😁✌️
Thank you!! The size made for the biggest challenge! Dang thing had more decals than most of the models I usually build! 😁

That's so cool! In my box I had the instructions for that car! But no decals for it.
