Lol..I love the "seek and ye shall find".. I'll definitely be using that phrase😁 The cream cheese brownies are a great idea, haven't had those before. The chicken looks amazing! Well.. everything did😊 I've actually been to the Amish country in Ohio, we stayed in a cabin owned by an Amish family. They cooked and sent over all our meals.. outstanding! They even sent some noodles with one meal! We went on a deer hunting trip, and visited all the Amish shops in town while there, totally enjoyed it! We also have an Amish and a Mininite community right by us in Tennessee, there's a market one mile from our home.. best produce and homemade jams & jellies ever!!😋 Love their pepper jelly!! Thanks for sharing.. and now I'm starving🥴
Can you please tell me where the Amish and Mennonite stores and communities are in TN? I’m in North Georgia…..I miss the Amish stores from where I grew up in PA! 💕
@@ruthwarren8685 Hey.. they're aren't any stores here in Tennessee, just a produce market.. where they also have their homemade jellies & jams. Its A very tiny community. The store we went in were in the Ohio area. I'm sorry if that confused you! But if you ever come thru McMinn County, the little produce stand is worth visiting if you love good fresh veggies! (That's the Etowah, Englewood, Athens area)
@@ruthwarren8685 They have about every veggie you can think of during the Summer and fruits also.. its a very nice stand, not just a shack on side of the road😄
Pot roast is my absolutely favorite meal. I also use the crock pot. I mix together 1 envelope of onion soup mix, I can cream of chicken soup, some beef broth and a big dollop of ketchup and pour it over in the crock pot. I also put some carrots in the bottom of the pot before adding the roast. Let it cook for about 8 hours on low. The sauce is a terrific gravy for your potatoes. Yum!
I watched one video about being Amish and Mennonites in 21st century. They showed families in Holmes County, and I immediately remembered Lynette telling about this place. ❤️ Thank you, Lynette for showing your culture, food, lifestyle. Through your videos I learnt about your life a lot! And I should definitely make a stake in a slow cooker❤
Nick looked / Looks fabulous, he has done so well especially when you live in a community where you tend to entertain and share meals within a group, I can't be easy, but nothing worth having is easy..simple fact eh...you all look wonderful and the children are sooooo lovely, growing up and all the clubs they attend, it's crazy and makes time go even quicker as you're busy busy.. Little Harper looks as if she has lost the quiver, that was so adorable. Take care all.
I had the same with chuck roast , I think it’s just the different cut/brand. Because same as you I am cooking it the way I always have. Love spotting all your Pampered Chef items, I am a consultant:)
Thank you. I’m in Lancaster county, Pa., so we have similar dinners. We have buttered noodles with practically every meal. Kids love them. Enjoy all your videos.
Our Family roast recipe is my daughters Favorite meal. I like to get a Chuck Roast. We put down a bed of sliced onions and the roast which i season good and the secret to it being moist is that You can put a can or 2 of Cream Mushroom Soup. When the meat becomes tender we like to add Baby Carrots and chunks of potato and cook till tender. It has the best taste and is so tender.
I use the farm dust seasoning all the time and love the Walnut Creek products. I get all mine from all the Amish stores in Versailles, Mo. they are the best products
Hey there, @lindabaker3655 I used to live in that area and also shopped at the Amish stores around there. Where I live now, I go to the one in Linn, Missouri. Good to catch up with you on here. 😊
Wondering if in that Missouri area the community is Mennonite rather than Amish? Jamesport and Seymour have lovely Amish communities, but I thought Weaver's in Versailles was Mennonite. Perhaps there are newer stores in the area In have missed?❤
Versailles, MO is a Mennonite Community. (Both Horse & Buggy Mennonite & ones with Cars) Weavers just closed. But they still have Dutch Country and Sunshine Foods and various other non-food stores. @@pamelar5868
I use the following, First for roast and second for asparagus. I only use these items for the roast and asparagus. Both turn out great. McCormick’s Bag’n Season Pot Roast (This includes a seasoning pack) Ziplock Zip’n Steam I think this is for most vegetables, but I only use for asparagus. (No seasoning in this one)
The searing of meat holds in the juices. Try sautéing your asparagus in a little bit of butter/ olive oil mixture, S & P then add in a little water cover for few minutes to cook to your liking. Now add in a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and reduce to a small amount of sauce. Adding in a little more butter to thicken sauce along with a squeeze of lemon juice. Place on platter and drizzle the lemon- butter sauce over the asparagus. This is great with pasta too. Have you tried making asparagus with Shrimp? So good. This dish can be eaten just as is or over rice. Fast and easy. 😊
Make a Mississippi pot roast in the crock pot. Super easy and so good. Take a chuck roast and put it in the crock pot. Add one pack of au jus mix, one pack of brown gravy mix, half a stick of salted butter, one pack of ranch dressing mix and 3 or 4 pepperrocine peppers and do not stir. Cook on high 8 hours. I know I spelled the peppers wrong but you get it I hope. They are just yellow whole peppers in a jar you find in the pickle section of your store. I stir mine up after it's cooked. Make some mashed potatoes and English peas and dinner is done.
Biblical Supper!!!! 🤣🤣 I love that so much lol.. As a traditional catholic I am going to start saying that... Sunday is our Biblical Supper... Seek and ye shall find!! hahaha.. God bless you all and thank you Lynette for sharing her awesome name.. 🤩😇
Love your videos and I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Seeing the groceries from Walnut Creek brings back wonderful memories. You and I cook exactly the same! Love the Amish noodles. During the winter, that’s Friday dinner with grilled cheese sandwiches. With the beef tips, I’ll add onions, then use the grim for a gravy base and make red potato- garlic mashed potatoes. Awe… the troyer Bologna and Swiss sandwiches 😋!! Unless you’ve had world famous Troyer Bologna you have no idea how good it is!
To warm up Mac n cheese, for leftovers, if you add milk or heavy cream, and mix it in, the "second day" Mac n cheese turns out creamy smooth! I also double or triple my Mac n cheese recipe, to put two aluminum pans of it, into the freezer, covering first with plastic wrap, and then place the aluminum lid on top, writing on the lid, how to bake it, removing the plastic first (I actually write: take plastic wrap off before baking). I try to thaw it overnight in the fridge, and I treat it like "second day" Mac n cheese, and put milk or cream in it, to loosen it, and make it creamy! The amount you made, I usually add a cup, or more of the milk/cream, and I mix it in thoroughly, and add more if needed! I love cooking extra to freeze, so I make a mess once, and either get three meals, with leftovers, or I can give it away, when I hear a family member is sick.
We have Walnut Creek products at our Mennonite store nearby at Yoders Market. The clerk told me they get a lot of their products and supply a lot of Yoders yummy baked goods to the WC stores. I was excited to find it!
I recently discovered Detwiler’s and purchased several Walnut Creek Foods items. I’m so pleased with the quality of these items. I plan on being a regular customer.
I’ve learned with crockpot roasts to use one packet of au jus with one cup water plus salt and pepper. Cook on high 4 hours and low for 2 hours more. Tender. Melts in your mouth every time.
I make my roasts in the crockpot also. I put cream of mushroom soup on the bottom , the roast, small potatoes and small carrots and then I top with dry onion soup mix. Makes the best gravy.
I love your videos can't say it enough ❤ I'm recovering from open heart surgery and your videos just relax me. Please say a prayer for me. Even though we aren't of the same faith. There is only one God. ❤
We do our roasts the same way, sear all sides, put in the crock pot with beef broth, onions etc. I usually do mine on low, the key is to get it to temperature. I find 205° is perfect!
Weavers Farm Dust!! My favorite. We used to buy a few bottles at a time in Shipshewana when we lived there. Now i have to order it online. Still my fav seasoning. 😊
Thanks so much! Your videos are very inspiring. It's good to get new ideas and to get inspiration when cooking and homemaking have gotten routine and a bit dull - you have so many great ideas. Thank you! Diana
Great job cleaning the hinges, they look brand new. Jalen did a nice job on the top of the cabinets and the island. I hope they do a light white backsplash. Lights are pretty. I do miss the dish rack, but a cup rack is ok. Krause sink is nice choice and faucet is nice(would have liked a brass or bronze choice, but I am not paying for it ;) It is very interesting watching the house transform. It is a beautiful piece of property. What a blessing for the young couple to have you help with the Labor and renovations! They are saving thousands and thousands of dollars.
Love your foodie vlogs!! You make-a-me hangry😂. My Mac n cheese always siezes up, I think it's too much pasta in my case though. So many good things Lyn Thanks for sharing
Make sure you're putting a fat source with your roast. I do a stick of butter with all my seasonings. You need a fat, a salt, an acid and heat. I generally use pepperoncini pepper juice for the acid and some ranch and au jus for the salt.
I cook my roast on high in my crock pot, although I use more liquid in mine (it fully covers the roast), I use the extra liquid to make my gravy to go along with the roast.
Just today we bought some Walnut Creek Cheese trail bologna and some cheese. We love WalnutCreek Cheese and have a sweet brother in Christ who is in management there. We take several mini overnight trips to BnB’s in that area and of course eat at the Dutchman. What a beautiful area. ❤️
Everything looked so good. Always received new food ideas watching. Lov u mom’s biblical references. I try to cook something on Firday or Saturday I can just heat up after church on Sunday. Or cold finger food or sandwich and or cold salad or fruit in frig to just pulled out to make snack.
Your home is so beautiful. It really shows well. The food looked delicious. Hats off to Nick for his weight loss. I think veggies and protein are a good meal plan . May try this.....
Yesterday a friend I grew up with in Western Pa. & i were talking about having what you call haystacks. I told her about seeing you make them on u tube.& we giggled about it as they seemed to us to be how our Moms used up leftovers.
Sunday night is a cereal supper. Honestly, I could eat cereal any time of the day or night. I never thought of frying trail bologna, I must try that next time I buy one. As for sushi, my family loves it, but I am not a fan. Your brownies with ice cream looked delicious. Kudos to NIc, I wish I had his willpower. Until next Tuesday, may your week be filled with God's abundant blessings.
I've lived in Ohio for over 50 years and in northern West Virginia before that. I always thought trail bologna was something made to take out for a picnic or hiking. I've never realized there was a Trail, Ohio, even though I've been in that area many times and have relatives in the area. LOL Thanks for the information.
So interesting about the chuck roast…same thing for me-too dry. I always sear so odd. That was twice in a row. I really think I didn’t cook them long enough. Glad yours worked this time. 😊
I love your cooking videos Lynn. Seek and you shall find.... I love it! I can hear your mom saying that. lol. I've been having the same trouble with beef and also pork. I've changed stores and tried different things but something just ain't right! I'm glad you shared that. The meals looked great. I'm gonna try doing steak your way. Ty Lynn for sharing. I love all your videos but cooking my favorite.

Maybe I’ll use that seek and ye shall find next Sunday night😂I usually cook on Sunday night because we usually eat out Sunday noon😋Yummy video, I can almost taste those noodles. I don’t know how Nick can resist them😀
My dad is on a kinda carnivore eating routine… not sure if I would call it diet… it’s basically meat dairy eggs some of the whole good vegetables.. like avocados and yeah couple more things but very full protein foods… with natural fats he’s been eating this way just little over one year.. one year and one month to be exact and he’s lost looots and has health issues and by eating this way he has been feeling soo much better and doing so much better health wise and physically… glad for Nick that’s he’s able to find what works for him clap 👏🏻👍🏻… and same with my dad he didn’t exercise and naturally burnt weight with just eating well
Biblical supper- seek and ye shall find haha!! Perfect, I’ll use that line once in awhile with my family
😁👍🏽
I wish I liked it,🤷🏼♀️it’s very healthy for you.

With the roast. Cooking low and slow is best. It usually falls apart when I do this. If I try to cook it too fast it's tougher.

Sunday night's is appetizer night. Ground turkey nachos, homemade pizza, sushi, veggies dip, etc. Stuff like that but not all those together, ha ha
Chuck roast + cream of mushroom can+ 1 can water+ bag of baby carrots+ sweet onion chopped+ 1/4 cup milk on top. Low all day= perfect
Thanks so much for inspiration!❤
