Who are we as mere creatures to question the ways of the Lord, his ways are higher than ours, his ways are above our ways, he is the sovereign creator of all. He's the all knowing, all powerful, and always eternal/present creator, the 3 O's, he makes the rules, so we better listen to him. Who knows the mind of the Lord? I watched this in the full session, great talk and I learned a lot.
The Canaanites were given 400 years to turn away and stop their wickedness and another 40 years to hear the stories of Moses in the wilderness, so God completely eliminating them was completely just as he was merciful enough to give them a period to change lasting 440 years full of signs and warnings. The ones that didn't repent clearly were not going to change.

No word of a lie, I've watched some videos where Muslims have brought up topics such as this one and the slavery in the old testament.
