im here almost 4 years later but im binge watching all of the videos im completely cativated I even had a dream or two with little sunshine baby girl Khanyisa she is the most spirited happy beautiful little precious girl, shes so cute that the elephants cant resist her either, beautiful family she has now Jabulani herd is perfect and your work is absolutely the work of God, trying to undo the evil of other humans its heartbreaking and fulfilling at the same time, the fact the little one spent 4 days alone no food no water no mum no herd in a snare those human beasts could at least set her free but human evilness is the greatest in this world knows no bounds but thank you thank you for your HARD work in saving them as much and as many as you can, it also proves when we want love knows no bounds either. excuse my bad english in the beginning of her life little Khanyisa would approach the herd one of the females and with her little trunk she would sniff and keep her trunk in one place and close her eyes, i dotn know what she was doign but it seems she was just listening and feeling the heartbeat of the big one and it was something to see, who knows she was remembering her mother ? or just feeling happy and good bc finally she was with her own again? little sunshine Khaniysa🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 the little one stole everyone's hearts🥰🥰🥰
Exactly where she belongs. Khanyisa looks relaxed and the herd are so loving. They almost seem excited to see a wee baby her size. Beautiful moments like this make memories that will fill a lifetime.
Tokwe and her daughter have such a presence! That was quite an introduction! The love that the herd showed Khanyisa! Just surrounding her with interest and affection! ♥️ Thanks for the updates!
It's really amazing to see how gentle all the elephants are with Khanyisa. I'm sure your seeing them everyday you realize just how big the adults are, but for me it didn't become apparent until I saw Khanyisa moving among the herd.
I know that this happened a while ago (I’m new and trying to catch up on all the videos I’ve missed), but I have to say that the little one has found herself an AWESOME family! Human and elephant alike! Edit: I can’t get over those rumbles! They’re like thunder! Seems that it means “all is well” to elephant ears, which is great!
Wowww it’s all going SO well! I love how khanyisa found a safe haven in Lundi from which she dares to explore and more. Gorgeous and magnificent creatures✨
First time i've seen this video, you've been hiding it from me ! what a teat, i mean a treat !! Sometimes i catch a "look on the face" of one of the 'phants, a look of just such good-naturedness, somehow in the eyes & the set of the mouth, a slooow swirl of the trunk, that it just blows me away. Maybe i'm anthropomorphizing, but i'm choosing not to believe so. Anyhow that look is unusually evident in this video !! I suspect my own face is mirroring this state of grace when watching this. Excepting the swirl of the trunk. At "Khanyisa surrounded by her new family" at the end, i think i swallowed my heart. So so great.
Look forward to peaking into Khanyisa's life each day. So amazing how each of those huge elephants seem to know exactly where the baby is and, while they surround her, they never step on her or knock her around - even though she sometimes walks right under them. Also love it that she seems to know that Lundi is her main caregiver. Keep up the great work.
Thank you HERD family I needed this today this is sooo beautiful the matriarch made sure she met sunshine female elephants LOVE ❤️ the babies but who wouldn’t love khanyisa look 👀 at her our baby 🍼
Oh I just love the sound of Tokwe's rumble!! I wonder what's she's trying to say other than it's calming. They are all such a great herd of elephants! I don't see any aggression in them at all!!
They are all thrilled to have such a delicate, tiny little baby in their midst. Even Fishan, who is so massive, makes sure to touch her gently. Tokwe, the most dangerous elephant of the herd, is glowing with pride because she is a grandma again. Every member of the herd understands that this is a rare and precious jewel to be protected and cosseted. Khanyisa is HOME.
I’m new to this channel and been watching a lot to catch up. I am never disappointed! These are truly amazing animals and the caregivers are so loving. Tokwe was giving such gentle caresses and Little K stuck by her “Mom”. For some reason Somopane has captured my ❤️. 🇺🇸. How is it determined who the matriarch is?
I know this was a while ago, but I just found your channel a few weeks ago and I want to watch all of the videos. Elephants are my favorite animals and I enjoy learning as much as I can about them, particularly what certain behaviors and sounds mean. At 7:39 the text says, “Tokwe approaches Lundi with respect.” Could you tell me what indicators of respect Tokwe displayed?
Poignant and pivotal moments of Khanyisa's + the Jabulani Herd's 1st bonding moments...You all -- the ellies and you who work and manage this sanctuary for these orphans -- are beyond AMAZING!!! TY all for the beautiful, incredible work you do... I know Khanyisa feels the same way! 💞🌾🐘🐘🐘🌾💞
sunshine knows exactly who her mama is and finds her exactly when things get crowded. so sweet.. BUT curious, what signs show you that Tokwe was showing respect to Lundi?
Lol, at 5:57 Limpopo cuts somebody off (little sister Pisa, maybe?) from approaching and then takes a proprietary stance over Khanyisa. Nope, you’re not touching MY baby.
She's so small compared to everyone else. I have been waiting for her to meet Tokwe. Can't wait until she is confident enough to play with the other babies.
What an amazing, brave little ellie she was; all those huge ellies! She waded through a sea of legs and trunks, was pushed, poked and prodded and took it all in her stride, bless her 🥰 Each animal truly has their own character, I’m finally understanding. Thank you so much for sharing these incredible insights and learnings with us. ❤️🐘❤️
Just found this channel and have been watching back to back Khanyisa videos. It doesn't seem Lundi is that keen on the baby. Bubi can't get enough of her though. I wonder if the elephants ever think, where is that woman getting these babies for us to take care of 😊
When allowed to grow their tusks like they should do they loose them or do they naturally wear down from using on harder things like tree trunks. It's no wounder the males have such strong heads and neck muscles by carrying 2 of those magnificent tusks day and night.
❤❤❤BE STILL MY HEART!!!💜💜💜AWWWWE!!! JUST LOOK AT ALL OF THAT LOVE FOR ONE BABY GIRL KHANYISA!!!💜💝😍😘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🌳🌊 YOUR HERD ACCEPTS YOU AND AWAITS YOU MY DEAR INNOCENT CHILD!!!😍😘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🌳🌊ELEPHANTS RULES!!!😃👍🔥🙏👑➕📖🔥🇺🇸
Watching this video again it makes my day to see Kanyisa n all the love that surrounds her from the Herd n her humans 🐘🐘🐘💕Love them all they most deffinately have family values 🥰💕
Phabeni has a wonderful medical caring medical team. The Carers snd Adine making sure Phabeni stays calm. Thank you for the video of the procedure. I am looking forward to a positive update with regards to Phabeni's wound. God bless. ❤🤗
@@herdelephantorphanage I was wondering but thought as much as she gets her bottles through the day. Great job folks. Saving this little helpless one has been a wonderful thing!!!!
What happens if one of those deadly vipers bites an elephant?? Just wondering I saw a video were the rangers thought a big Male lion was bitten in the leg, sadly the lion by the looks of him did not look good. But the rangers never said what would happen. I've seen were one bite would kill like 5 humans but we are very weak and fragile.
Do any of them even have breast milk for her ? cause they are looking pretty much dried up . And wouldn't there have to be or have been a baby born for one to have breast milk ?
Unfortunately, none of the elephants are lactating. We have developed a milk formula over the years of looking after orphaned elephants, which works really well and has everything they need.
I WONDERED DO YOU USE THOSE BULL HOOKS TO TRAIN OR KEEP ELEPHANTS IN LINE .I AM SO SAD TO EVEN THINK THAT BECAUSE I CHOSE THIS SITE TO DONATE AND HELP MY FAVORITE ANIMALS I LOVE ELEPHANTS
Adine and the carers would never permit such a travesty. Plus, Tokwe would stomp anyone who tried into a thin red smudge. Sebakwe would watch approvingly.
They all appeared to be very accepting, yes? ❤️❤️ That baby surrounded by all the adults was beautiful. My heart just melted 🥰
Elephants have such good souls. They are so loving and accepting of one another. I wish people could take a lesson from them.
Tokwe appears to have accepted Khanysia as Lundi's baby. Just as you so carefully planned. Well done!
I think she was more than happy for Lundi to take over those duties. After all she has four daughters to keep in line 😆
Nice videos, beautiful pictures, well done !
Tokwe shows Lundi respect she know Princess K is her baby now and she knows what a good mother Lundi is.
I just want to hug them all.

All those beautiful allomothers to protect, teach and love her.

Towie approaches Lundi with respect, "look shes a little bit pink, but we will love her like shes grey". just beautiful Adine xx

It's so amazing how Limpopo trying to come closer to Sunshine from every side possible 🙏🏻🤗🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤
Baby elephants really do live in a world of legs and trunks.
First time i've seen this video, you've been hiding it from me ! what a teat, i mean a treat !!

Their body awareness is amazing, especially considering their size.
They must have very sensitive skin to always know exwhere she is.
Thank you HERD family I needed this today this is sooo beautiful the matriarch made sure she met sunshine female elephants LOVE ❤️ the babies but who wouldn’t love khanyisa look 👀 at her our baby 🍼
I love how they are like all mums when a new baby is born "ohhh give me a cuddle"... and love looking at her and loving on her xx
I wonder what it must feel like to stand next to one of these beautiful creatures. How special to be able to stand amongst them.
"This is your baby?"
"Yes, the two-legs two-trunks gave her to me. She was damaged but she is healthy now."
"She is a good baby. I approve."
Oh I just love the sound of Tokwe's rumble!! I wonder what's she's trying to say other than it's calming. They are all such a great herd of elephants! I don't see any aggression in them at all!!
Baby ellie is so tiny amid the giants. So amazing watching this peaceful herd 😍😍
Wish we humans had respect like the elephant ladies do for each other!
Lundi and Somopane acted like siblings for a moment 😂😂
They are all thrilled to have such a delicate, tiny little baby in their midst. Even Fishan, who is so massive, makes sure to touch her gently. Its got to do with personality, charisma, and SMARTS.
I loved how tokwe was the best grandma to khanyisa

Wishing all of the Jabulani Herd a wonderfully beautiful day
Magnifique. Quelle leçon d'amour et de protection est donnée par ces éléphants surdoués❤ !

Oh boy!
They sure gave her super spoiled already! Lol
But who could resist, right?
Not me!!
Love you all all beautiful!
What a beautiful family. I love how gentle everyone is with the baby.
Omg she is so little ❤but cute what a beautiful family growing up so fast awesome video thank you so very much love 💕 from Canada
As graceful as the transition looked, there was so much work put into it. Then, the day day they all trumpet for her, is heaven!
sunshine knows exactly who her mama is and finds her exactly when things get crowded. so sweet.. BUT curious, what signs show you that Tokwe was showing respect to Lundi?
Lundi PARADED Khanyisa in front of Tokwe! Look what I got! Tokwe stopped in her tracks, mid chew!
Yup, that's what happened. Deliberate flaunting.
Lol, at 5:57 Limpopo cuts somebody off (little sister Pisa, maybe?) from approaching and then takes a proprietary stance over Khanyisa. Nope, you’re not touching MY baby.

Thanyou adine for giving this joy
Yes, they love her. How could they not? ❤️

little thing gives me ANXIETY. she's like a baby gecko! She looks so fragile! waaaaugh....
Look how little Khanyisa is..... xx

What a wonderful learning experience with herd and caregivers. Love watching from USA
A truly beautiful sight to see 🐘❤️
I still love this. It's the time that baby K knows she has a whole family and they will keep her safe. 💘 💕 😢 🐘
I love their eyes the way they look at you
.. 엄마,이모,고모,누나,사촌 .. 엄마가 누구야... ㅇ
Who would think nostrils we're so cut??!!
Everyone loves the little baby ❤
I'm wondering if elephants in the wild adopt orphaned babies into their herds like this?
Not often enough.
Khanyisa is tiny.
Tokwe multi tasking is my favorite lol
Please rescue animals
our race is so edvanc , but still we can learn a lot from simple animals 🐘🌴
Animals are so much more complex than we give them credit for😊
She was so tiny. Time sure has flown by.
They all touch and nurture baby...❣
What is the (Afikaans?) term of endearment that Adine says to Khanyisa ? To my ears it sounds sort of like "Mosican".
Meisiekind (little girl) (Meisie - girl / Kind - child)
Watching this video again it makes my day to see Kanyisa n all the love that surrounds her from the Herd n her humans 🐘🐘🐘💕Love them all they most deffinately have family values 🥰💕
I love how they love
❤❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Phabeni has a wonderful medical caring medical team. The Carers snd Adine making sure Phabeni stays calm.
Thank you for the video of the procedure.
I am looking forward to a positive update with regards to Phabeni's wound.
God bless. ❤🤗
Beautiful..🌎🐾🕊🎶💗
WOW 2 @ how they just chew branches. Awesome close-ups, and thank God filmed with natural sound, NO music
They don't eat the wood--- they rotate the branches in their mouths, peeling and eating the bark. Yummy, eh? 😩🥰
Thanks!
Thanks for your donation
She was so tiny then. Omgoodness
That is just awesome to watch. ❤️❤️🙏🙏💋💋
It's wonderfulllllllll
💓
Who is making that low pitched purring sound?
I think several of them. I believe they make this sound when they'r happy.
And now, where is it?
Beautiful 💕💕
In the wild do females have a menstruation cycle? Does the whole herd know when a calf is pregnant and going to have a baby?
So who does Khanyisa ultimately call her mom? Bubi?
Lundi
I see Lundi is allowing the baby to nurse. Was she lactating?
No, they don't lactate. It's more of an act of comfort for the little one. 💚
@@herdelephantorphanage I was wondering but thought as much as she gets her bottles through the day. Great job folks. Saving this little helpless one has been a wonderful thing!!!!

No they don't use bull hooks. They would never do anything to hurt these lovely Ellie's.
Did you see some bull hooks? I must have missed them. I hope not even one of those sweet animals are being treated badly!*
Do the bulls have too stay in the barns, or can they stay wherever they want?
These are African elephants in Africa. The Asian elephants are abused with hooks
Adine and the carers would never permit such a travesty. Plus, Tokwe would stomp anyone who tried into a thin red smudge. Sebakwe would watch approvingly.
Is that Toka baby is nursing on?
Lundi 🥰
TOKWE I meant
This video shows how much our little sunshine has grown in one year👍👍🤗🤗🐘
She certainly has 💚
SHE 'S SO BIG NOW
❣
