Baby Elephant Khanyisa & Timisa Practice Sparring while Pisa Gets a Little Jealous 🐘

- Sometimes the days in the lives of the elephants really show up their different personalities and in this video we see Khanyisa as the busybody she is. This calf just wants to enjoy herself and play with her friends, but she has to contend with Pisa today as the two battle over who will get to be closest to Timisa.
Pisa, bless her, has always had a jealous streak when it comes to new youngsters and she even displayed this toward Timisa when the elephant arrived in 2016. But now the two are best friends and it’s Khanyisa who Pisa has taken some time to warm to.
Khanyisa gently and sneakily manoeuvres her way into Pisa’s space so she can be close to Timisa and take up a game of sparring in the sand mound! This behaviour isn’t only typical of bulls but cows too as they practice to spar and enjoy the playful element of jostling together.
Kumbura stays close and enjoys the sand bath while Limpopo and Bubi both get down low like the youngsters and make the most of their mound!
Adoptive mother Lundi does the rounds to keep an eye on everyone as the females frolic and cover their bodies in cooling and protective layers of sand.

It's amazing as big as they are in such a small space how careful they are not to step on Khanyisa who is rolling around under their feet. Thank you for sharing. 🙂❤️

Their body/spatial awareness is vastly superior to ours. I don't know if they feel so much more in their skin or body hair or what, but it's amazing.

The two little Tuskers are so cute watched closely by the two super allomothers beautiful Kumbura and Bubi sweet eyes while the Matriarch in the making Pisa today was ennoyed by little Khanyisa gadfly Eventually all of them had a good time and relaxed even mama Lundi

But Pisa is an adventurer and she isn't afraid to wrestle them boys either. She will be a good help to Limpopo.

My goodness it seems like there’s a case of Timisa Mania today with both the princess and the firecracker Pisa fighting for her attention Khanyisa may be the youngest but she’s a very determined strong little girl our Braveheart.Just goes to show that all sisters even elephants have arguments at the end of the day we will always have each other’s backs no matter what. Sunshine is feeling quite spicy and playful which I love to see her letting her hair down and pushing limits just as any toddler would I adore little miss busybody.💖💖🐘🐘☀️☀️
Timisa has such a lovely personality that everyone wants to play and be friends with her. I'm quite jealous myself as even I have a special fondness for Timisa. 🥰

Such a wonderful video. I loved seeing Khaynisa and Timisa playing together. Pisa was not amused by Khaynisa playing with her friend Timisa. Pisa is not very tolerant of Khaynisa, but Khaynisa held her own. I have always sensed a little bit of jealousy there. I loved that the bigger female's enjoyed some down time in the sand also. Just love how Khanyisa is the first on the mound head first, butt up; first in the mud, the dam, enjoying all the joys of safe freedom. Funny how she made her way to lively Timisa, lil by little. Btw, Timisa’s sigh when she laid down on the mound was priceless… 💖🐘

It seems to me that our sweet, not so little anymore Khanyisa finds THE most inappropriate places to lie down. She reminds me of my childhood. I would be enjoying TV on my own and my sister would come in and change the channel and then practically sit right on top of me for a better view and say “oh, am I bothering you?” 😡 Khanyisa makes me laugh. Love her and her family so much.✨

Khanyisa is so strong willed! She wanted to play with Timisa and did whatever she needed to do to make that happen. I’m so glad that the babies have grown ups watching out for them.

That was caused by the snare she was trapped in when they found her bc evidently any animal will fight to get out.😔 Thankfully she was found in time & brought to awesome HERD/Adine, its wonderful vets & awesome carers. 💖

This is a good example of elephants bonding and finding their place within the herds hierarchy. I noticed that Pisa stopped her shenanigans as soon as mama Lundi walked into the picture. ❤️🐘❤️🐑
Khanyisa wasn't having that two's company three's a crowd thing going on with Pisa. She went into cute and wiggly mode to get her way, it worked too, lol. When this video began they all looked like they were about to fall asleep standing up! Good seeing dear Bubi relaxed and content. All the gas passing was funny. Great video and thank you.

To me Kumbura is quite petite in frame for an elephant. She always seems so ladylike in her movements, like an elephant ballet dancer. 😆

Khanisa is hilarious! I love her energy and comical personality! And yet again she wins the spot next to her favorite playmate.
I think all the elephants must love a sand bath and to be able to lay down which also gives their feet a much needed rest .

I got the feeling that Pisa was concerned for Timisa. After all, you can see khanysia banging against Timisa as she's actually trying to go to the bathroom. Pisa saw this and said well that's all wrong. I notice Timisa has never won one tussel between her and khanysia, and I think khanysia takes advantage of this. Pisa may just very well be the next matriarch, because she seemed here to p/u the nuisances on what khanysia does with Timisa. Tokwe and Fishan have also intervened when khanysia got a bit too pushy w/Timisa, and now we see Lundi just standing around, and khanysia actually left Timisa then. It's all subtle , but Timisa has been pushed around before, and not just by khanysia. I'm glad Pisa, Lundi, Fishan (who befriended Timi when she first came to Herd), and Tokwe are aware of the dynamics when it comes to Timisa.

Fun to watch, and one becomes an elephant expert in the process (at least among people outside of elephant countries).
It is so fascinating to watch the interactions that elephants have amongst one another. They all have such different personalities, a bit in the way humans have different personalities. The wonderful close up views of them interacting enables one to see their behaviors so well.

Looks like they don’t appreciate how compacted the soil is. Difficult to have a satisfying sand bath when you have to scratch the hard ground first.

It is so obvious that this herd is so content and peaceful and healthy! What a gift to be able to see elephants in their true family interactions and how protective thy are of each other.

When she's beside Adine and the other staff Khanyisa looks so much bigger but next to the rest of the herd she is still so tiny, small enough to slip underneath some of them!!!
