RIP Ray , you were one of the founders of modern day snooker , your temperament around the table was something alot of young players could learn from and incorporate it into their own games . Ray instilled self belief into alot of players he coached .
A real gentleman and a giant of the snooker world . Thanks Ray , you will never be forgotten

A wonderful respect and affection being shown by a great player of the modern era to a great player of a past era. Having met Ray on many occasions I can tell you he's a super guy to chat to. In his prime Reardon was a serial potter and break builder but also had a great tactical game. He was particularly dangerous in a tactical exchange with say 3 or 4 reds left and could tie you knots and win the frame from way behind. He had tonnes of nerve. His prime was probably before he turned professional but even in the winter of his career he was a formidable player and trounced reigning world champion Steve Davis 6-0 at the 1988 British Open. He also beat him 6-0 at the Highland Masters in 1982.

Good that you mentioned that, John. Reardon was a powerhouse in the mid-60’s when the English Amateur was at Borroughes Hall, Soho Square. The professional game barely existed with just Pulman, Fred Davis, Rex Williams and Jackie Rea playing amongst themselves. It was Reardon, Houlihan, Spencer, Gross, Barron, Edmonds and the Owen brothers who were really the stars of that era.

If paul hunter was alive he would have most likely won a world title or a few so mabye ronnie wouldn't have had the same amount of titles

Funny 😯. I haven’t got all the money in the world but paid 5 k to have my 👃 straightened due to it being broken 3 times over the years sparring 🥊. Some may say that Ronnie isn’t vain 😂😂👊

      Why?
Be happy with how you are born
Why need to fix it to make you look better
      Be true to your self
