I love your doodles ;) I used Tomoe River Paper for years and now that they've changed the machinery I find it not as good. I wish they'd go back to the previous formula, I heard that there's a lot of people switching to other brands. That ink you've mixed is really cute btw :)

Oh gosh! I know about the new machinery the quality is just off isn’t it! I’m so glad I’ve found another paper nerd 🥰🥰 It went from 67% of market share to less than 35% in two years and declining. Have you tried something else? I can’t seem to find anything….

Hello! Love your channel and enjoy your viewpoints and comments. On the subject of out of print decks... I feel this must relate to some copyright law with authors and artists. I had one very well known and very respected deck creator be absolutely horrid to me when I asked them why, when they were the soul creators, did they choose to NEVER reissue another printing. I can say it's one of the most widely known tarot creators and the most expensive...I will not name them for legal reasons (wish I could, because this attitude and treatment went so far as them accusing me of wasting their time and not being "serious about buying their decks anyway" 😮) . I believe being out of print for so many companies revolves around the mystique, it generates interest, and it will also make you accumulate their other decks even if you aren't inclined to do so under normal circumstances . I feel that decks are pulled from the public too quickly and it feels as though it is meant to force purchases if you are the type of person who is easily swayed. I do believe that the copyright is mostly the issue ...but not always. I think it is a cruelty to expect people on a budget, with children, or any other responsibility to another being to be forced into high prices and selfish behavior. At the end of the day, they are pictures on bits of card...and spirituality should not involve extortionist prices and bad behaviour on the part of the creators (as in the situation I experienced). You must sometimes be stronger than your desire to accumulate something; Spiritual items should be acquired in a pleasant and kind exchange...not in a deck" being held for ransom" price range.

I fully agree! These choices seem to be driven by sneaky marketing tactics. It’s unfortunate but ultimately this is the world we live in. Creating FOMO to upsell. I’m sorry to hear you had an unpleasant experience with a creator, I have to say it happened to me too and it made me look at her deck under a completely different light!

@@fairlighttarot I'm sorry this happened to you, as well. I am happy to hear that you believe as I do, that spiritual items should retain some sense of honor to reflect that purpose. It is a sad world when spiritual items are "just like everything else"... a commodity. I realize people need income, we all do, but to purposely be unkind, arrogant and greedy ruins the whole mood. If decks are popular, it should be because they are helping people heal a trauma, adding insight, helping them reflect on themselves and their situations, offering comfort in times of trial and adversity, and providing wise counsel where there is a need. It is a sacred thing to read to me...maybe I am too old fashioned, but I think the honesty in spirituality needs to be the most important thing in a reading for yourself and especially for others. I'm happy tarot is available to everyone, and I love the choice of decks we have now. I only hope that it retains the genuine dignity that it most richly deserves.

Wow the Fantastical Tarot!!!! But why does it have holes, is that because it's a demo deck? Still a generous gift, especially because that deck sells for hundreds now. I don't know what drives the decisions in the publishing industry, they're obviously not listening to the tarot community! Great video Silvia xx

Yes, it’s a demo deck! It’s actually in great condition 🥰 I love the artwork so much!! You know, I think that it’s everything to do with publishing contracts. When a contract is up they may discuss renewal and if the negotiations fail they just stop printing it. It’s a pity that they’re not consulting with the community, after all we’re the ones buying the decks!
