I am new to your channel and love seeing what you are able to get at the food bank. Watching you use everything you get and not waste or throw things out brings a lot of joy to my heart. I remember the days when I went hungry so my child could eat. Thankful that I am at a place where I don’t have to worry about that but you never know what the future holds in these crazy times we are in. Much love and prayers to you and your family!
Hi, welcome!!! I am so happy to have you join my family!!! I really hope you continue to enjoy the videos. I have a strict motto that you will hear me say quite often and that is "waste not want not"!!! We do not waste food around here. Even our scraps get scraped into a bucket and go out to the chickens for them to enjoy!!!! I know the feeling of making sure the kids get fed. Thankfully there are many food banks now a days and I just want all people to know about them and to know that they are welcome to attend regardless of their economic status. We never know what tomorrow holds. Thank you and much love to you and yours as well.

Yep she loves watermelon and coffee. You did great i love how you pland it all out. As school lunches ours does breakfast and kids can get a milk or juice or salad bar and fruit so take one day and have lunch with your daughter to see how the food is. Ours does a list for the month. I'm so proud you remind us you work and even in time bith parents working still ate having a need with help. I'm very happy your thinking of your family. Bless you.

Here in Michigan all public schools received state funds so they provide free breakfast and lunch to all school children regardless of income. That is if the schools choose to participate.

I have told my husband from day one that my dream one day is to live in the mountains of Montana and he agrees that it would be very nice. My first time watching and you get right to the point for each item which made your video so entertaining. My local food bank has few children. It is mostly for the elderly but I enjoy getting ideas of what is needed. Maybe keep this in mind. I could use some ideas!

I thought you would like it... why not feed into the crazy watermelon addiction a little more with a cute cutting board. lol Absolutely I honestly believe that enough people like yourself and me continue to spread the word about the food banks and their purpose that maybe one day we can eliminate the stigma that surrounds them.

No judgement on the salad I could eat the whole thing too. My husband use to give me a hard time about my salad because I use a small mixing bowl. And who cares about how you unpack your haul we just want to see what you get. Great haul! Wool socks are the best my mom gets us all wool socks from costco love them so much I have had many foot surgeries and my feet are always frozen. Carolina will love that cutting board. I sleep in a T- shirt and underwear or a night gown there is no shame in flannel especially in winter.

I was agreeing with her when she said she could eat the whole container. That might be two servings for a side salad but I could eat the whole box too.
I think what she meant was instead of picking everything up and explaining what you’re gonna do with it it just takes longer and it’s more interesting just to see the stuff you got.

Doing the daily videos has been great for you! You seem so much more comfortable in front of the camera, and your personality comes out more, and that’s wonderful!!! That is kind of you to donate those eggs…farm fresh eggs would go for 8-10$ a carton around here, so that’s amazing!! The idea for using Stove Top stuffing as a binder in meatloaf is such a fantastic idea!!! (Stove Top stuffing is such comfort food, lol…and the seasoning sounds great with meatloaf or meatballs maybe made with pork and use a chicken gravy over it…mmmm…ground pork is a lot cheaper than ground beef right now.) Thanks for the fantastic hint!!!
Yes it has definitely helped me to gain the confidence behind the camera and I also really enjoyed doing the live yesterday so I am looking forward to doing the next live as it will be a cook with me live!!! Also you have given me a wonderful idea now to make some stuffing meatballs and serve them with gravy!!! Yummy

That just popped into my head as I associate stuffing with gravy and thanksgiving, and I don’t like meatballs with spaghetti sauce, but I like Swedish meatballs, and that’s what made me think of it…probably nothing has anything to do with the next, but, it sounded good to me! Hopefully, it tastes good!

Hi, I do see that not everyone gets all the produce and/or receives the abundance that we do. I wonder if it's because of how small of an area I am in and the fact that they are serving no where near the amount of people that some areas serve. We also have a lot of food banks/pantries in this area. I know that everyday there are at least 5 different food banks that are open to the public. It seems that every church holds a food pantry on a different day and some are held on the same day. I am so very grateful for the items that we receive.

here in Florida the food bank can not take our egg overages. something about the fda (Lord forbid you donate organic free range eggs with no growth hormones or antibiotics)..I give them to friends, neighbors and the lady at the grocery store who is in charge of produce and gives us boxes of produce going to the dumpster for our ducks and chickens..more than half is perfectly good...and I can it. We STILL wind up dehydrating eggs often...three incubators running right now (and still have eggs in the spare fridge) will keep some, but have people begging for ducklings...and a few wanting chicks. We go to the Veterans pantry every week...could go to the other also, but they are so very generous...what we cant use and the ducks and chickens cant or wont eat, we give to neighbors... Was always taught what you give will be given back to you ten fold...it is the truth.
That’s a shame. I’m so happy that I can share my eggs with the the food bank to help others out. I have a goal this gardening season to grow more than I need so that I can share the excess with the food pantry as well. They help out my family so much and I just want to be able to help them out. You are right. What you give will be given back to you ten fold. I’ve heard that many times before.
I use instant potatoes to make easy potato cakes...I don't drink coffee, but love hot tea...add stove top stuffing mix to diced zucchini, chopped onions, a can of undiluted cream of chicken soup, bout half a cup of sour cream and enough milk to mix it all together to bake an easy and tasty zucchini casserole...
ohhh thank you, that is such a great idea to use up some of the zucchini that I grow in the summer time. and I too love my hot tea but I will say I LOVE some coffee. lol

Great items !!! My church was gonna have to throw away a bunch of food that no one took( new laws won't let it go to another food bank) so myself and another member took and froze it . Huge blessing and it would be a shame for stuff to get thrown away
Yes!!!! Save the food and preserve it. It’s such a shame to see it get thrown away. If people don’t utilize the food banks and food pantries a lot of food will go to waste. Thank you and your friend for saving it.

That was a great haul. You can make the stuffing and then take some turkey, ham or chicken lunchmeat and put some stuffing on a piece and roll up and put in a casserole dish and cover with turkey, chicken or brown gravy and bake about 375-400 for 20 to 25 mins or till heated through. They are really good. We had some for Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for sharing.

Great haul. I need to remember that they’re open on Sundays. I went to the pantry on Friday and they gave me a whole flat of those grapes and a big box of that broccoli and a 50lb bag of carrots that I have no clue what to do with lol. I sent you a message Thursday night to see if you wanted me to pick up for you. I figured if I can’t get you something from your list I could at least pick up for you a couple of times. If you would like then send me a message. In this weather the items will be ok in the car.
Hey, yes they are open on Sundays in the evening starting at 5pm. That's awesome that you were able to go Friday and get all of that awesome produce. If you pressure can you can clean and chop the carrots and can them up and have them on your shelf. that is super sweet of you, I have responded to your message this morning, Sorry that I didn't see it Thursday when you sent it.
You can can carrots, freeze broccoli and freeze grapes!
