After watching your blog on the WB 190.4, you had me sold. But when I went to purchase one, I found they discontinued making it. Hence, why I’m in between RSR & Waterbox
The tank handled the switch beautifully! I really would've thought the leptoseries were more shaded for their succes. I seem to have noticed you guys keeping a heap of varieties and in shaded areas. But 120 is a decent amount of medium light. Cool to know, I need to get some leptos! Now do PAR readings of your growouts! :D
I've been in saltwater and Reefing for close to 30 years. I belive one of the biggest secrets to keeping corals healthy, is water flow. Lighting is important of course, but if the Coral can clean itself and have enough flow to process the energy from the light, it won't do that well. Not blasting direct flow, but varied, high flow.
Hey Mate, questions for ya. What’s your thoughts on which is best, Red Sea Reefer 625 G2 or Waterbox Infinia 215.5? I live in the states (California). Also, I’m planning a mixed reef. What would you recommend between RedSea Reef LED 90s or Ecotech 30 Pros? Thanks
Hi Gregory, I probably favour the waterbox slightly over the Red Sea and the Radions over the Reef LEDs. However they’re all good options and you can’t really go wrong. Cam
The blue comes on at 08:00 and ramps up to 100% in the first hour. The white comes on at 09:00 and ramps up to 20% in about an hour. This peak goes from 10:00 till 16:00 am the white ramps down first, being fully off by 17:00. The blue starts to ramp down at 18:00 and the light is fully off at 19:00. Sorry we didn’t include a picture of the schedule. Cam
@Happy Chappy, numbers may change a little (possible lower reading). The water being agigated messes with the sensor, so to get a steady reading to ensure you're not above the recommended PAR for specific areas in your tank, it's easier to stop all flow The most important thing is to ensure you're in the right PAR range for all corals.
We believe the fluctuation of readings when flow is on is a reality for the coral experiencing that spot. Either way the reading is correct and gives an great representative value to help your Understanding of available light around the tank. You could record such readings as a range for each location ie 78- 125 but we have always found it useful to turn off the flow to obtain a definitive value, and use those values to assess light availability in general. You Rock Cam! Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it!
Love the seahorses in Ania's tank, everything looks really nice. Happy reefing.
Everything is definitely doing well😊 Cam
Appreciate the video! Not alot of par reading video out there! Very informative!
We plan on doing some more in future😊 Cam

The reefled90 are a great light. I get awesome growth and colour from my 3 over a 425xl
Right on!
Question for ya, did you used LED 90 15000K ? How did the blue n white set?

Are they 90 or 50 watts?

What is the light schedule for that tank with the redsea leds? Thanks

Crikey - I'm moving my clavularias up
I’ve honestly never seen the Fireworks clav do as well as it is in her tank. Cam
Why do you turn the pumps off when taking readings? The par your corals will be under is what they will be under with pumps and powerheads on?
Mainly for the sensor get an accurate reading.
@@hcaquaticsreefing as soon as you turn your pumps back on (which is normal running) that number will change?
