I found that the Metra electronics wire harness works for both Infinity systems and the entry level radio in my Sorento. Also, you may not need a steering wheel convertor box. If your head unit accepts analogue commands (Such as the Atoto A6 PF), all you need to install the steering wheel control is pins 5 and 6 from connector C2. (Diagram may be found by searching "Radio pins of 2012 Sorento.") Be sure to connect pin 6 to ground of the new radio harness and pin 5 to the steering wheel input of the new radio harness. All of JP's advice is greatly appreciated!!!
Awesome video bro I’ve been doing audio installs for a year n was stuck asf on this sorento you definitely helped
I need to know what SiriusXM antenna adapter I need to hook a aftermarket SiriusXM to the factory satellite antenna
It’s the iDatalink Sat2
Thank you My friend!!!! Your video is the only one that covered everything I was having trouble with. Man that damn Sorento fought me all the way but I’m the end, everything worked out without breaking anything. Awesome 😎
That looked so easy makes me want to ship the car over so you can do mine
Do you have a video that shows how to remove and replace the center channel speaker, rear pillar speakers and factory subwoofer?
Do they sell a t-harness for a remote start for the 2013 sorento? Great video btw
With the harness do the factory usb and aux plug at the bottom next to the cigarette light still work ?
Here to ask the same question. Trying to upgrade but want to see if the stock USB connections will work with the new multi media radio I plan on getting.
Thanks, my brother! That damn gear shift knob was a mfer, but he had to give!💪🏽😂
you are the man!
What about the backup camera ?
how does the back up camera work
Hey bro. Can you please hit me with the link for the wiring? That's where I'm stuck at😅
Hi, thanks for the video. Helped alot to remove the old stereo.
I have the unit with the amplifier, is the harness you linked the right harness for my vehicle. I’m not sure what type of amplifier I have but it’s located underneath the front passenger side which for me is on the left’ side of the vehicle as drivers side is on the right in Australia.
Do the steering wheel controls work. Primarily the phone call and end buttons. Was told by someone that they may not work. Also do the AUX and USB ports still work? thank you
Depends on the module you use some times those Bluetooth buttons can be tricky for some reason and the aux and USB don't work anymore, some sell a USB retention cable but I find out that this cable is not consistent in working all them time so I don't sell them
Hi,is the harness plug and play or you still have to connect it to the aftermarket radio?
Great video!! Thank you for the info
Hi does this fit in a Kia Sorento 2013 EX?
Hi, Thank you very much for your video, can i ask you something, at the back of the original radio. on the side of the radio antenna, the white jack below the antenna jack is what for?
Thanks!
What size is from the new stereo
Good video, thanks!
Very very helpfull!!
Glad it helped
Where do you connect the 20 pins connector with the blue wire?
Thx this video helped a lot
Glad i could help bruh💯
Hi quick question mine currently has the touchscreen display, but the screen went out. If I replace with the same exact part is rewiring necessary?
Nope. If it is the exact model you good bruh.
@@jptheinstallguy thank you
Where is your location guys
I have a 2011, could I use this radio?
does it have android auto or car play
Can you do one on installing a 3rd row seat for the 2012 please.
I have a Kia Sorento SX 2012 I have difficulty connecting because someone who has a plant connects them because the sound does not come out due to a part that needs I don't know what it's called
2007 sorento wiring without a harness. I just bought a double din to hook up and there are no resources for wiring to the current radio wires.
Hello. So I have a 12 sorento and installed one of those chinese androids. steering wheel control works, reverse camera works, pretty much everything does. Except, now my remote start does not wanna work. It starts up, shuts off, starts up, shuts off, etc. I used the axxcess swc-1 module to connect everything that needed to be connected. I was wondering if you have dealt with this before or know anyone who has. If you can help that would be awesome.
its hard to diagnose that over the net but the radio shouldnt have anything to do with your remote start the fact that it keeps starting and turning off kind of sounds like it lost the tach signal. might have to reprogram tachometer.
@@jptheinstallguy thank you for your help found out it was the tach wire input that was not connected all the way must have hit it when I pushed on my e-brake
do your steering wheel phone button works? can you answer and end calls from the steering wheel? Does the AUX and USB ports still work below the AC unit?
Think I can do that with a 2006?
The parts might be different but the concept should be the same
Damn these are basically Asian Chevy's that was hella easy 😂
super easy...lol glad you liked it
Good looking brother ughhhhhhh lol
👍🏾
Should have used a wire harness instead of all that rewiring. What a mess!
Anyone else break that bottom panel with the cigarette lighters?😂 I install radio everyday and I certainly did
😂🤣 sometimes you can't help it. Those panels can be delicate
Tried to squeak it out nice and easy... split straight up the middle. Bugger!
I’m so scared of breaking the plastic. Shit does not feel right
F that plastic...lol jus playing make sure you use light pressure there is always a good chance that stuff can break. TRUST ME!! sometimes you cant help it depending on the condition of the panel but it gotta come out some how..lol just be careful 💯
@@jptheinstallguy Yeah I’m still very skeptical. Mines in very good condition, but I noticed white stretch/pull marks in the black plastic trying to get that second piece off of the cigarette lighter with the clips. I can’t find a feel for them at all. I might just hire someone to do it for me. Great video though. I really appreciated it and it’s a lot more simple than I thought. Just don’t wanna break the plastics cuz I don’t think you can find those pieces anywhere lol
@@Aro24GB hey man its all about your comfort level i totally understand. when i first started i was ultra scared especially doing it to other people's cars but the more i did it the more comfortable i got. shoot i still get scared sometimes but its all about taking your time.
That’s not a 2012
Will a pioneer double din keep the factory back up camera?
