I am 14 a about 4 months ago I was a the skate park working on backside airs and met an old guy playing bad brains, minor threat and agnostic front out of speaker while he was skating.. I was already into those bands and i still am! I went up to him and and we talked about punk and hardcore. Two days later i come back to the park and he is there and he gives me a record (i had told him i had a record player) he says listen to this you might like it. It was the 7 inch version of this and it blew my mind. One of my all time favorite albums!
- Never turn your back. It's time to care. Stop the violence. Just don't stare. You and I. It's our scene. Time to fight for freedom and equality. Love is in our hearts. It was from the start. Open your eyes. "Become aware". Not afraid to do what you know you can. Not afraid to take that dare. Not afraid. Not afraid to care. We're in this together. It's out destiny. Fight for a cause. At first I didn't even care. When will it be okay. Second I couldn't decide, hold back or explode. It's easy to say nothing, to sit in a corner and keep your mouth shut. Put in your place. You think you'll get your way. Now, gotta breakaway. Get ready, hold steady. You think you'll get your way. Now, gotta breakaway. You think you'll get your say. Not gonna listen. Not gonna hear it, just don't get in my way. Sick and tired, sick of you.Something to prove, take a step. Don't want to hear it. Not a worry in the world about what you have to say. "not gonna listen to what they say" "break through, break free, break away" - Live and let live. Don't be obnoxious. Have some self respect. Show this world you exist. You don't have to be kicked around. (what gives them the right) Be yourself and be proud. (say what you gotta say) Forget what others have to think. (they'll think what they want to think) Some peoples attitudes stink - The choice will always be yours. How far are you willing to go? If what you feel is real then I know you'll be there when I turn. Now that the spot light landed on you and you don't know what to say. Since you don't know what you're talking about. You never felt it inside. What we say, what we play, is what we feel. Don't wear special clothes or make up for appeal. When i get the chance to speak, weither or not they hear. We got the attitude and the right idea. Always looking for a new trend. You think you really believed that you were sincere. You cut down people you call friends. Anything just to get ahead. You know everything about nothing. You have no idea. None - I'm for the people. I stand for them. If everyone learned to give a helping hand. You can count on me, your fellow man. In out fight for untiy, we stand. So many people, seem they don't mind. Broken spirits, they walk that line. Look deep inside yourself and try to find, a caring person with an open mind. Look deep inside yourself and try to find, a caring person with a positive state of mind. The way we think. The way we act. We walk STRAIGHT AHEAD willing to give. Always dare hold out our hands cause we care. We'll do the best we can. I'm for the people. I stand for them. If everyone learned to give a helping hand. You can count on me - Young at heart, all for fun. We fight for right, to all be one. We speak through music. Our voice will never stop. When we communicate we know not to listen to your rot. A burst of energy is what we give. Being ourselves is how we live. "Spirit Of Youth" We're not the same. We all think different. But the spirit of youth, we all live it. Young at heart, out for fun. We speak our minds. Don't hide behind lies. "Spirit Of Youth" in you and me. We got the power. We should stick together. Nothing can go wrong. "Spirit Of Youth" Young at heart, our for fun. Still standing strong. Standing as one
I love this band, this music, this lifestyle and I love ALL OF YOU who support this music and scene. I am almost 45 and it keeps me young and on my toes. Saw Agnostic Front last December and am hoping to see Gorilla Biscuit this October if Covid-19 gets under control.
I bought this record from Dwane at Some Records NYC in 1987 and was hooked. Seen them couple times at CB’s in the 80’s. Always liked NYC Mayhem, Straight Ahead, and Irate/Will Power.
Damn "not gonna listen to what they say!! Break through break fee break away !!!! Absolutely pissed when I was 15 and now 38 years later still Absolutely pissed. Love it live hard-core for life. Love seeing kids jammin this shit Keep it alive !!!!
Couldn't agree more my friend. In late 80s I was a ward of the state in England still. Had already been through 2 foster homes, a kids home, and landed up in a lodgings I had to share with at least 10 other fellas at one time. Some were cool, one or two were real cunts. One fly by night ripped off my ghetto blaster/boom box, while I was at work in the day, Id saved up for to play my tapes on. In late 80s, Nazi bullshit was very entrenched in skinhead culture . I even had to share my lodgings with one bonehead ,nearly ended up in a fight with him. We stopped when the land lady walked in the tv lounge. But it wasn't all bad, had couple solid friends in the local punk, h/c scene .I learned about non racist and anti racist skins, like the earliest SHARP from NYC, through the NYHC scene,so eventually became one at 16-17, I was so inspired. And had a Xedge mate that would record me the latest best hardcore he could find. It was mostly fron America and Xedge. I was never Xedge, knew I would never have the discipline to be at the time. But h/c and this band gave me a sense of hope, positivity and belonging in a scene, I knew I could always be a part of as long as I wanted. I escaped the darker part of my life through this music, through hardcore, through the punk scene. I know I'm not the only one that hardcore, Nyhc or positive hardcore from where ever, had a good and positive effect on.
I'M FOR THE PEOPLE... I STAND FOR THEM! This is a Positive Hardcore anthem. Fuckin awesome. I wore this record out. I saw Sick Of It All do a cover of "Straight Ahead" when they played in Las Vegas on the Built to Last tour. Fuckin Rad!
This mini album was the soundtrack of the later half of my senior year of high school and my first year of college; 87 just F’ing jammed for hardcore..
I had a friend who loved Token Entry, I didn't know what to make of em at first listen, then they grow on you. Was good there were h/c bands then that tried to be a different, quirky. Punk as fuck in its own regard. Raw Deal demo was sweet , I didn't get much into Killing Time though, they went down that more slowed down metal edged road that basically started up 3rd wave H/C yeah?
So right. Been a bass player for some years now. And don't think I'm at that level yet. He's fast and so co ordinated. His bass bounces and slaps, and the tone sets the vibe for rest of the music so well.
c b yea the Ritz was crazy the worst place was Lamours in bklyn lots of brawls very violent crossover gigs. I bailed after 2 of those think carnivore cromags gig 88 or 89 ugly
I was sick for this band, had a Xedge mate that recorded to cassette for me. He had all the latest best Xedge back then. Me I was 16 yrs old H/C skinhead! Now I'm a 45 year old skinhead lol

One of the Best Hardcore bands to come out of the 80’s; half the bands out there today still can measure up to their intensity or performance..
And it came out the year I graduated HS; after hearing this it was on..
This ep really helped me through dark times with their message. Not gonna listen to what they say, breakaway. I have so much love for this band
