Yes!!! It's so good! Her first books are definitely more fantasy romances but also great. Tasha Suri writes amazing characters and character relationships.
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance I've been working on Ruin. And then I have a book I need to read bc I can't renew it anymore (oops). Then hopefully Jasmine Throne.
Everything you've said about this makes me even more excited to pick it up! And I would say the Ambha books are also primarily fantasy, but with a strong romance in them (as in, they don't read as romance genre novels with a fantasy setting).
I hope you love it! Its funny cause Bethany commented saying they are more fantasy romance so I guess that duology is on the border but I think this one is solidly not a fantasy romance. I am really curious to see what I think when I do get to Empire of Sands.
I'm reading this right now (40% in) and loving the characters! Priya is currently my favorite but I'm also very intrigued by Malini and Ashok. Plus the whole concept of the rot.
Based on what people have been saying in the comments and what I heard from a friend this is different from Empire of Sand. Which makes me extra curious to try that one out.
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance definitely agree! She could definitely tie up there with Malini and Priya if she gets more page time. I’m just dying for book 2 already!
Yea and it has all the stuff I love in adult fantasy, this author is for sure one I need more from. She handled the character work so expertly in my opinion
I will do what I want!! 😆 I mostly do the emoji thing for people who don't have much to say but want to leave a comment. And yea as someone who has never really loved medieval europe as the default setting of a lot of fantasy I have been thriving in all the new fantasy settings authors are using!
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance I love the Europe settings, but with that being said, I'm glad there are starting to be way more settings that other people prefer!
This is adult fantasy and didn’t read anything like YA to me. Probably a close adult fantasy approximation would be a combination of Warbreaker by Sanderson and Robin Hobb character work.
A slow story with messy but compelling character interactions? I'm sold.
That's exactly what it is and its fantastic!!

I am very excited to try out her previous works after this one! Especially cause I feel I can really trust her character work
Just ordered it today, so excited after this review. 🌸
So hyped to read this! It has jumped to the top of my tbr!
YAY!! I hope you also really like it
🌷 i can't wait to read this. the library book just keeps staring at meeeee
Give in to the temptation! I forget what are you reading right now??

Loved Empire of Sand! Excited to read this one, hopefully by the end of the year. 🌷
I hope you also love this one! I have heard they are different but hopefully the differences will be good for you 😊

That sounds about right being 40% of the way in and yes the rot instantly intrigued me when it was introduced!
This book was just SO good! I enjoyed it so much and can't wait to see what else happens in this series!
SAME!!!! So many good releases this year.
Sold! I want to read this!! the environment/nature being involved sounds so good!! Putting it in my cart 🌸
The weird nature magic is so compelling and was a huge hook for me in addition to the great character work! Hope you enjoy it.
I'm so excited for this one! I think it will be next up on my list, after I finish the Winnowing Flame series :)
I hope it lives up to your expectations!!
I read the empire of sand and rated it 3,5, really good for a debut but not up there so I'm curious about this one.
I didn't like Empire of Sand, but loved this one. So you might give it a chance.
@@kerlys1278 oh that's good to know, I was so meh on Empire of Sand but was curious about this!

Can't wait for my copy to show up from the library I really enjoyed empire of sand but I haven't read the sequel yet 🤠🤗😊🙂
Hopefully you also like this one!!
🌺 I think my favorite character is Malini but Bhumika also deserves more love! I wasn’t expecting to love her so much going in
I hope Bhumika gets more point of views cause she would have been a favorite too if she had gotten a bit more page time!
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance definitely agree! She could definitely tie up there with Malini and Priya if she gets more page time. I’m just dying for book 2 already!
I thought jasmine was a scent.... I learned something new today. Yay. Also, wishlisted this one. I don't mind a slow paced fantasy. Cheers. 🌸
The scent of a flower!! If you end up liking the characters like I do I think you will like it!
This sounds great! Love a slow burn fantasy. I'll have to check it out 😃📚
Its really such an amazing slow burn cause even though it was slow I never felt bored!
This sounds like something I would be interested in as I like non-European based fantasy settings. Not sure if I will get to this anytime soon though.

Good review!! I hope ur next book it’s good too!! Happy reading to you! 😊📖📚
Same to you! Thanks for watching ☺️
Don't tell me what emoji to leave! 😛
Great review! Great to see more non-European inspired books that are really good!

I’m just like I should drop everything to read this book but I’m enjoying everything I’m currently reading too. 😭 The struggle of a reader 😂 🌸
SUCH A STRUGGLE. I am currently not in a reading mood but also want to read all the things...
The book sounds very YA. Is it? Thanks 🙏
This is adult fantasy and didn’t read anything like YA to me. Probably a close adult fantasy approximation would be a combination of Warbreaker by Sanderson and Robin Hobb character work.
It also reminded me a bit of Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay
Thanks for clarifying. Given the comparison to these other books, I am definitely interested.
@@francoisbouchart4050 out of curiosity what made it sound YA??
The protagonists sound very young, which does not automatically make it YA. So it was really just a nebulous feeling 🤔
