my ex friend got that deck,it is out of all specks. even those old glues are in place still and sounds crap. But i got AiwA-adf-770 and also 660. I would be soo happy if u someday overhauled , say, 770 AiwA. Would be soo cool. I can do mech in these units, but those ic updates, im exited how that can change sound.W and flutt in hese aiwa mevh is way low. Belts are very critical. Thanks, even im not akai guy. Back in 80s i bought new gx-52 akai. Still got it but its all lost.greets from suomi/finland.
Yes, these akais sometimes got out with wrong heads adjustment from the factory, but that’s where i step in and fix that issues. In my experience i got only few of these with wrong heads adjustment. Since i have bought aiwa xk 009 earlier this year i will do full service and “ANT boom” modifications in the future. Also wanted to get f990, but to get one with decent condition heads are almost impossible… Cheers!
@@LT.tapeheads.service yepp,so,u got pretty awesome AiwA. U know,a little wear in a head,is not soo bad. But corroted heads need lapping to do.Both me AiwaAs have little tapewear. Can no hear or hardly measure that in soundstage. pardon my anglais,im no from essex. Greets from finland again.keep up good work.
@@LT.tapeheads.service hey, do yo know this Ckouli-guy from tapeheads community/group?? He is pretty cool AiwA enthusiast... knows tons about mech and values very high this so called floating flyweels. Only highend mechs are at 1983-87, Adf-660 and 770 and 990. All later ones are downhill from there. He says.
Great ideea with the quartz lock. Same pcb as quartz locked variant.. just fill in parts.
