And because of that charge, he was facing 41 years in prison. He decided to take a deal for 5 years. Unfortunately, lots of innocent people in similar situations take deals for crimes they didn't commit so that they at least have some hope that they can be released. For Mr. Banks, his conviction was later overturned and he was deemed "factually innocent," which is even stronger than a dismissal or a verdict of not guilty.
The thought that this is not an isolated incident in evil America makes my stomach sixuxuzele. How many black men behind bars right now for a crime they never committed? Jesus America is a jungle.
