Even though Tyrantrum is awesome, I like how Aurorus takes on a gentle and elegant approach to the design, something we never see with fossils. Great designs, top tier cries, top tier shinies, yeah the Aurorus line does it for me. That being said, both Kalos fossils are excellent
I've been in love with Aurorus ever since I first played X when it came out. Its design was the perfect blend of elegant but intimidating. It was even the first Pokemon I caught when I first went to the Crown Tundra in Shield. If Pokemon were real, I'd gladly go to a zoo and look at it all day. It's simply mesmerizing.
Both designs are great, but I'm definitely more of a Tyrantrum fan than an Aurorus fan. I can't help it, T-Rexes are just cool, and the combination of the scale skin with the feathery mane/beard is perfect. Also helps that it's part dragon type.
Man I love these two. Tyrantrum is one of my favourites and I used it a lot in Pokemon Sword, after I got a Shiny. He’s just a menace. Aurorus isn’t as close to my heart but I still appreciate an actual sauropod fossil. I really like the parallels between them two. Of course you got the physical and special difference and red and blue colour schemes, but you also have the dragon and ice type, their designs being opposites (Tyrantrum is very sharp and rough while Aurorus is very circular and wavy) and how Tyrantrum is very different to its ancient form while Aurorus is very similar. I love it when Pokemon ever do something like that with these types of Pokemon. Great video man. X and Y may have not have been great games, but they had some great Pokemon.
Aurorus might seriously be one of my favorite Pokemon ever, it’s just so majestic and beautiful. I even love its typing, even if it’s got a ton of weaknesses.
I feel like the Kalos fossils were used interestingly in XY, the, Grant, the Rock leader had both, the champion had both, and one of your friends (Trevor) gets both for Battle Maison. It's like they're the perfect pair, and you can't have one without the other.
My boi Tyrantrum I used him(Had a male one) in my Pokemon X Team he carried my team plus I love T Rex and plus the first Rock/Dragon type! And being a Dragon user Tyrantrum is just awesome with its design, entry,Strong Jaws Ability, and the Shiny is just to good! That Dark Blue and Gray works so well has a better shiny then Garchomp.
4:39 I just wanted Bonnie to have it cause it would've been funny and really cute. I don't think she should get every Pokemon she befriends but Tyrantrum felt like a good exception. It could even have Thunder Fang to keep with the Electric theme going.
I'm using an Aurorus in my current first playthrough of Y. I wanted to use Tyrunt but 1. I had already decided Axew would be my Dragon type and the seasoned Pokemon fan within me refuses to type overlap, 2. I've always hated how Ice types are usually late game and appreciated the chance to have one before the second gym and 3....Amaura's just really cute guys. One of my favourite Kalos Pokemon. My now Aurorus, Flow, isn't the worst but it's getting to the part of the game where its high HP can't hide how bad Rock/Ice is as a combo. I still like it though. The way its....frills(?) flow (hence the nickname) makes it feel so much more majestic.
Freeze dry I wish got more shine and other types get Corrosion for poison to hit steel. Boil for fire to hit water. And so on so some mons get some special advantage.
We need a Stegosaurus Pokemon. Of the classic favorite dinos, the Stego is the only one they haven't touched. It could certainly get the Fire or Grass typing, as the plates are likely to have absorbed or circulated heat, but imagine a special type fossil with Solar Power ability. Alternatively, i would accept this as a forme... for MEGA MEGANIUM!
Aurorus is my favorite Ice type pokemon, it's absolutely gorgeous and I have fun using mine in XY with Nature power to use a Ice type stabbed Tri Attack
Funfact! In east asia, variations of "Dragon" are used instead of "saurus" in dinosaur names. That's why Tytantrum is a dragon type. (I feel dark is more fitting, but Tyrannitar is a thing soooo...) Paleonerd opinion dump: It's a shame how uncannily similar Tyrunt is the unrealistic Jurrasic Fight Club baby T-rexes, as opposed to the real deal. T-rex actually went through a dramatic change in body proportions as they aged, going from slender with more reasonable arm to leg proportions, to the big hulks we all know. And about Nanotyrannus, it's really unlikely to be it's own genus at this point. It's just the guy who keeps proposing it worked on OG Jurrasic Park so the media really likes him. The patchy feathers are actually the opinion currently in favour for T-rex integument. We have some scales of T-rex, but we know other Tyrannosaurs had feathers. The largest known feathered animal is Yutyrannus after all.
I feel as if Tyrantrum being Dragon type is perfect because the T rex is the quintessential dinosaur, which we all consider to be the closest things to dragons.
It's actually interesting you brought up the habitats, the Tyrantrum in Crown Tundra must be unique because there's a short little clip in the epilogue of Twilight Wings where you can see a one hunting an Aurorus in a blizzard 😊
Tyrantrum was one of the reasons I decided to get both X and Y. It's still my favourite pokemon to this very day with the only other pokemon that have come close to it being Nidoking, Feraligatr, Krookadile and Skeledirge
I really hope we kinda get new fossilmon that are related to the current ones we have. Like a triceratops fossilmon that is only found in unova/North America and is related to Bastiodon Or a pteranodon fossilmon that is a smaller coastal related species of Aerodactyl
I had a Tyrantrum in a X nuzlocke named Leia. She wrecked everything in her path, especially after Jacen, my Hawlucha, died to Lysander. She was on a warpath after that.
I recently completed Pokémon X for the first time and I chose the Sail Fossil during my playthrough but after a bit of rock smashing on the beach in Cyllage City, I found myself an Amber Fossil and ran with Aerodactyl for the whole game and even used it's Mega Evolution which made it a beast in certain parts of the playthrough and let me breeze by easy. Rock/Flying is probably one of my favourite dual type combo's ever and I hope we can see another like it in the next Gen hopefully. Great video and looking forward to your take and Aerodactyl (my boi 😊)
Ah these two! Amaura was the Gen 6 fossil I chose, and is my favorite fossil Pokémon. To me thanks to the addition of the changing colors on their sails, line in game looks better than in artwork. I was genuinely shocked to see Amura in the Crown Tundra, although I think I had a similar reaction to seeing Cradily in New Pokémon Snap. This isn't to look down on the Tyrunt line, I have figures of both Tyrunt and Amaura. Gnoggin has videos on all fossil Pokémon but one idea in that video that stuck out to me is the idea that royalty is a part of both designs, and thus might draw some partial inspiration from King Louie and Marie Antoinette Edit: The later is from me due to the King Louie connection he made) Anyways hears to hoping these two get into Legends Z-A, and if they do, Amaura might be a potential team member.
Tyrantrum is by far my favorite rock type! It was my go to pick for X/Y and Ultra Sun/Moon. I’m kind of disappointed that it didn’t wasn’t a Fire/Rock type which I know the typing is bad defensively but it’s a it would be cool to see a flaming T-Rex and it would have been a good counterpart to Aurorus.
Gator like these are two of the like maybe 20 good mons gen 6 they’re not forgotten i promise if anything i struggle to build an all kalos mon team that doesn’t include one
Both Of My Favorite Franchises Are Pokémon And Jurassic Park So Tyrantrum Was An Amazing Addition To The World Of Pokémon. Tyrannosaurus Rex Is Also My Favorite Dinosaur And Tyrantrum Is One Of My Favorite Pokémon Ever, Definitely In The Top 30. With All That Being Said I Love This Video And It Is Amazing You’re Doing Fossil Week In Jurassic June.
It is kinda odd it took until Gen 6 to get two of the most iconic dinosaurs but I'm glad they waited as they look so cool thanks to the colour and graphics of the 3DS era of games. If these were Gen 1 species they would look nowhere near as pretty
I like Tyrantrum more but I love Aurorus' pokedex entry about being perfectly preserved in ice, the scales vs feathers issue is what killed my interest in dinosaurs so having a pokemon whose characteristics are definitive really makes me happy. I'm not a fan of the Archeops line or the Galar fossils for similar reasons.
What if the fossil pokemon are rock type because all other types decayed too fast to preserve them for cloning? Is the same glass of water still water after a billion years or is it an bacteria infested mess that you dont want to drink?
Wdym imperfect? My Dracovish looks just like it did in ancient times🫠 But that aside, these 2 are by mile the best fossils beforw the galar ones. Tbh I remember having a shiny Tyrunt that I recently lost to a data corruption, I miss him....
Who forgets about Tyrantrum and Aurorus??? I mean I forget they're fossils sometimes, but I don't forget the Pokemon themselves ever LOL! Too awesome to forget!
Tyrantrum is the second coolest pokemon after Steelix, I wish it was pseudo-legendary in strength though. The 3d models looks WAY too small though, like with most mon.
Wait if Amorus was preserved in ice shouldn't they have another type instead of Rock? They look dragon-like, maybe Ice/Dragon? I know it's a fossil, but given it's said to have been preserved in ice...
The only crazier thing than it taking so long to get a T-Rex Pokemon is how long it took to get a dolphin Pokemon.

Excuse me?? In what world are Tyrantrum and Aurorus forgotten?? Those two are Well loved!
1:05 Aw! He's so adorable ❤
I strongly agree.
Omg I never knew I needed cute tyrantrum in my life😍🥺

"Forgotten"? They're probably the second most popular set. WAY more than the Hoenn fossils, probably more than the Sinnoh ones.
Tyrantrum was really fantastic in New Pokemon Snap, really showed its ferocious side

Solar Power but it heals rather than damage
The Turtwig line embodies this
Would be nice to get Galar fossils as whole but likely no
Slither Wing is partially based on the Stegosaurus (best seen when 4-legged), but we definitely need a straight up Stegosaurus Pokemon.

Our definitions of forgotten are definitely different
tyrantrum and aurorus are ariga-designed pokemon and thats good enough for me
hell every pokemon ariga designs is bound to be a 10/10
Tyrantrum is my favorite Pokemon of all time. I don’t care how competitively viable it is, if it’s present in a game, it’s gonna be on my team.
My 2nd favorite set of fossils after Hoenn's
I love Tyrunt one of my fav unevolved Pokemon and Tyrantrum is so peak

Thats what I'm saying. Tyrunt & Tyrantrum are the most noticeable fossil mons only behind the Gen 1 original fossils

"Feathered trex" yeah, sue and scotty and a recreation of sue the t rex debunks it
