One of the best LEGO sets out there - it’s a perfect balance of price, complexity, enjoyable building, manageable size for display, etc. I really hope Lego does more at this scale and style
I don't collect Lego Harry Potter but I do collect Lego Architecture. This is basically an Architecture set and I plan on picking it up. Hope we see some similar style sets representing Star Wars buildings and locations. Thanks for the quick review.
Same I don't red the books or watch the movies but this might be something I use my 50% off bricklink coupon on. If the was a star wars set with the same piece count it would be like double the price. Crazy to think that the Optimus Prime was the same price but 2x less pieces
Bro like he said at the end, the perfect build would be a Jedi Temple at this scale, that you could take the roof off and see the inside... Epic, keep dreaming 🥲
I always love these focused reviews especially the non-star wars ones as he only picks the best ones to review unlike Star Wars where he pretty much always does every single set
I’d say the price is very good for what you get. Great price per piece, and far far far more affordable than the larger set. The quidditch pitch would be too far out to include in the main set, it would have to be a little added section, which kind of defeats the diorama style it has. As someone else says, you can just get the polybag
@@halion4487 There are several micro scale Hogwarts MOCs on Rebrickable that do feature a convincingly placed quidditch pitch but I’m getting this set anyway. It’s decent value compared to countless other Lego sets.
@@DariusPL none that keep the general size this set goes for (that I’ve seen). But no point arguing really, I certainly enjoy the set and I hope you do too.
I would LOVE to see a LOTR set of this style, such as Minas Tirith or Hobbiton. I don't know if that theme has one specific location that is quite as iconic as Hogwarts, though. Star Wars would be amazing too! Unfortunately it seems they are not prioritizing smaller scale builds what with the star destroyer being way way understocked. ☹️
Great set but it’s a bit dissapointing they used gray on all the spires instead of sand green. Would’ve been nice to have that accuracy but idk maybe it wouldn’t look good on such a small scale
What are the dimensions of this? Its a must buy for me and I'm trying to determine if my 5 tier display shelf I'm using for displaying lego sets on will be big enough or if I'll have to find a different place.
At 4:57, I'm taking a peak at the framed polybags. Are those just the bags? The top left looks like it has a fig in it. Also. Is that a chrome C3P0 just chilling on the shelf???
Is there a reason they made the printed tile for the name to only be visible from above? I thought they would’ve taken a note from Architecture sets and elevated it into more of a front facing plate. Just a thought! It looks like a good medium scale build with a fair amount of solid design. I see it as a good alternative to buying the much larger and costlier set, 71043
@@briankillela3147 I think it looks better facing up - on the skyline sets it juts out, and it's sort of hard to see when the build is tall but the printed title is squeezed into one block facing out at the very bottom.
I had this set for Christmas and I love it! It’s very cool and a fun build. I kinda agree about the architect; they could definitely have made him less tacky. I too would love some Star Wars sets in this style.
I’m tempted for sure. I don’t think I can justify the price and the size for the big one when Star Wars is my bag and I don’t buy/collect Harry Potter sets, but this might be the one set that would hit the spot to cover the theme/media so to speak.
If you are not willing to spend all that money, using some polybaga 30435 "Build your own castle" you can get some impressive results. On rebrickable you can find free instructions to build a full castle using 6, 8 or 9 bags, depending on the scale and level of details you want
Thx for the review! But you didn’t mention anything about the build experience - did I miss that? It looks great, but with this being a micro-scale build, I’m curious about the build experience.
This is how you do Hogwarts properly: the price is in "Lego architecture" territory and the Details are impressive for that scale. Never really liked the Micro fig Version, this is giving me a Smile every time I see it in my living room
It’s been quite the month for me . I built the Lighthouse, I just started the last section of the Rivendell set, and I picked this one up yesterday. Looking forward to starting it.
Why not all three, at a smaller price point, Yavin next year to go with the set, then the Jedi Temple for the 25th, then Echo Base the year after that.
I like Harry Potter enough, but man I wish I liked it a lot more. They have such extensive sets. I would love to have all of the buildings on display as a Harry Potter world.
I feel like you're never happy. You constantly complain about having too many stickers in a build, then this build has all printed pieces, and you complain because you claim the lego company shows "more love" to harry potter than star wars. Maybe look at it like a step in the right direction and be optimistic for the future of printed pieces for all sets? Just an idea. Also "dumb strung" I think you meant durmstrang 😅
The set is great but it annoys me to no end that they didn't do the entire Castle. AGAIN. For the price they want, it needed to be complete. And it isn't. Leaving out the entire Clock Tower building is just inexcusable. I could understand not having stuff like the Owlery, Hagrid's hut or the Quidditch pitch as they are all off site. But the Clock Tower and courtyard aren't and they showed up pretty prominently in the films. So while I love it and will absolutely buy it (as I buy all HP sets anyway), I will NOT buy it at full price. Which isn't hard 'cause Amazon is already discounting it on pre-sales' cause they know the 170€ tag is absurd.
This set is a definite purchase for people unable to afford the $400+ Hogwarts Castle set, especially with some of the UCS-style sets increasing in price like what we're seeing with the SW sets. Very curious if this set could allow for experimental sets. Either for SW-based architectures/planets or even battlefields like a larger, playable version of the GWP from the past. Like either micro-scale or polybag-scale vehicles while the base is the terrain.
waiting on a 2024 January wave speculation video, I'm really hoping because Lego has been re-doing clones recently and even made the 187th, I really want them to remake the 327th Star Corps since its my favorite clone division
Just can’t seem to shake the lack of the clock tower and wooden bridge at the back of the castle. It looks fantastic but it just doesn’t feel complete without it
I get it, but the dimensions of the set would suffer. Pushing the set out a few inches, which would mostly just be rockwork, would stop it from sitting on many shelves without a sever overhang. You get 90% of the castle, and can’t even see the clock tower missing from the best display angle of the front. A necessary sacrifice imo, especially saving a good $50 from the price, and preserving its display-ability
When I saw it in your hand in the beginning, it was way smaller than I originally thought it was! For $170 this feels very overpriced, it feels like a cash grab.
Not much for Harry Potter, but I love microscale and architecture, and this is a beautiful display! Definitely would get this if/ when a great sale comes along!
I do like all the printed pieces instead of stickers. I wonder why Harry Potter gets all the love and Star Wars does not. For instance, with Harry Potter they introduced new wands, but Star Wars still has the old lightsabers and blasters. The lightsabers still have flat ends instead of tapered ends like they should have, and like the very first one did. And the blasters look a little silly next to my custom clones that have accurate blasters, that Lego could easily make themselves.
To be fair, the lightsabers got a special molde for the hilt since the beginning. Whereas Harry Potter just had rods passing as wands for years and years.

Imagine a Jedi Temple, Mos Eisley, or Hoth in this scale and size. I think it would sell well
It would be $250-$400
I think the Jedi temple should still have a version with a interior for the jedi
Imagine Naboo….
Yavin
I hope lego starwars make good stuff like harry potter set
