Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Enjoyed. I enjoy being at home, doing everyday tasks and living a simpler life. I save money in many ways by being able to do a lot of things similar to all this.

I started to kick out all the things that weren't cheap in use or replaced it by energy friendly ones a few years ago. And that was a big money saver, within a year the difference was that high that I payed it back easily. From the money saved in the last years I've bought a chinese dieselheater, a chickencoup and material to build a greenhouse. And I'm not even done yet. There are still some opportunities left.. Like canning outside and solar power :) I don't have to worry about money for my retirement, but it's more about the costs of living in the future.

I love the tips! My local free store ministry has been a godsend for me. I purge my house and donate thousands of dollars of items annually to minimize things that I don’t need, having told much or simply don’t use. When ever I need something specific decor, crafting or necessity I most always can go down and find what I need and it’s all free, just my gas to get there. It’s been amazing for the community. When I boil things I often use my electric kettle and heat up the water there for my boiling pots, takes much less electricity over propane to get up to boil for pastas, blanching etc. My wood stove doesn’t get hot enough on top to boil it’s efficient but doesn’t have a very hot top, I can melt things on their so low crock simmer perhaps. I also thought about doing baked potatoes in foil along the edges of the coals when the wood is at its end of burning. There are always ways to learn. Saving your onion skins is amazing it such a great source of anti oxidants and bioflavonoids that help our capillaries and immunity. We freeze our potato peelings to make soups broth down the road also or crispy skins in the oven making great garnishes for soups! I love making my own makeup it’s healthy and less expensive and healthier than getting the cheapest makeup and no packaging to dispose of. I love the challenge of making things from scratch with real things from real ingredients that we have bulk. It’s a real joy when you live this way as you know. I repurpose many many things into other things. If I have a bunch of T shirts I don’t need or use I have made rag rugs or Tshirts quilts and pillow cases, if I have flannel sheets that are old I cut rectangles to be used as washable toilet paper replacements, wound dressings, surface wipes or drier sheets etc. If we have different eyes we become wise!

I'm trying to learn to regrow produce. I have a frame with 5 long planters on it, I'm disabled and cannot get down to garden. Green onions are easy to plant and regrow, I'm trying to find more things, please help! I've grown peppers and tried onions from seed. I'm going to try to do more like you do!! I live in Clearwater, FL in an older mobile home and we struggle with electric bills in the summer. They run up to 600.00 in the heat of summer. We are going to buy those solar generators you have shown. I'd love to get one of the sun ovens too. Any help with summer costs, please let me know!

I reuse a lot of leftover fabrics or fabric from things that are worn out or not in use. I like to sew so for me that makes a lot of sense. Fabric is so expensive now. I also like to repurpose fabric from clothing, blankets, curtains-you name it from the thrift store. My favorite thrift stores also sponsor homeless people or people with issues. If I spend $10 it goes towards feeding 20 people. It might be a bit more but it’s a ministry. Lots of good ideas in this video and the comments as well
The thing about the dollar store is you have to watch how much you’re actually getting vs buying in quantity at Walmart.( Not like a Sam’s club). If your cash is limited then the dollar store is a good option - and I go there often for cleaning supplies, etc.
Lastly, don’t DoorDash if you can help it as a way to earn extra money. You don’t make enough to justify the cost of gas and wear & tear on your car. Google it ❤

So true about the money saving- I got a little calendar that I hung in the kitchen and I write down every cent. I feel like the first step is to observe where all of your money is going. You think you know, but you don’t realize how you are spending until it’s right in front of you on paper.
