Great job! Don't worry about the landing, we've all had landings like that at one time or another. Watching you brought back happy and very old memories - I haven't flown in 26 years. Sure was a blast though.
Any landing you can walk away from isn’t bad. And those that you walk away from with an understanding of what you might have done poorly and what you did well and what you can improve on actually are the best learning experiences, because they drive into your brain what you need to work on.
Well done! I've done solos in sailplanes and paragliders but I'd love to try hang gliding. That first solo is always the best feeling even though it doesn't go too well.

How much more then; those who've straddled such flight and have chosen to jump from between it's wings? ~11b4p 1/504 back in '74
Awesome!! Great control of your glider prior to launch, good pitch control during launch and excellent push through the A frame and run. Really good flying. Landing wasn't that bad, just remember getting those arms up on the tubes (shoulder height) is really important for anyone especially for shorter people. Keep it up Marina you're doing great. Must have a good instructor as you had things sorted!! Were they in contact with radio? Is that site between Cairns and Port Douglas? Cheers from a hangie in New Zealand

It looks to me like there is no good place to land except on the beach. The wind is strong coming from the ocean. What happens if the wind picks up? I don't know the site but the flight looks risky to me, based on my experience flying in Virginia mountains.
YOU HAD ME WORRIED. I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO STICK IT IN THAT SMALL PATCH BY THE ROAD WHERE THOSE OTHER GLIDERS WERE. THIS SITE IS ACCIDENT OR DEATH WAITING TO HAPPEN FOR 1ST TIME STUDENTS. A POSSIBLE WATER HAZARD AND BRUSH AND TREES ON THE OTHER SIDE. A NARROW BEACH LANDING WITH A CROSS-WIND WOULD NOT BE MY RECOMMENDATION FOR A STUDENTS FIRST SOLO. NOT A BAD LANDING CONSIDERING.
I was biting my nails through the entire video.., the scraping sound was real, I flew for 14 years over regions like those in the video and I didn't think she was going to make the beach. I was thinking myself about top landing. The wind direction was good but there would be turbulence over the parking lot. Or maybe better to find a tree. I was sweating bullets... but no worries, I retired with a 3 hour flight.

Trust me, lots of pilots with years of experience make landings just like that. Not bad at all - congrats on your first solo.

The best advice for any new pilot. Pull toward the upright in the direction you want to go. don't push away from the other.

Snap! Did first flight in a yellow and blue glider from the Rex, in 1989. Wish you years of flights and accomplishments
you ridge-soared on your very first solo flight? How wonderful is that!

Ridge soaring on solo ? You all are way ahead of the game ! Nice flight !
hard to believe that this was your first solo. If this was your first solo like i wander what it would be the rest. Phenomenal. you are soaring here.
Overall a great flight. Hands higher and a stronger flare of course, but great. Congrats!
She done better than I would have. I would prob crashed on the road 😆😆😆
Аfter landing, I would unfasten the carabiner, move away from the wing and wave to the audience to indicate that everything is fine
I really recommend a nose wheel
Did you stick with it , you still flying ?
I'm soo saving up to do this!
P.s. you were awesome
I was so nervous for you!
Wonderful and beautiful ok?
congratulations girl you were born to fly👏👏👏👏✈️⛵
Stallo inesistente, atterraggio con barra sempre in avanti. Fossi l'istruttore ti farei ricominciare il corso.
congrats on your 1st Solo !
Nice! The cars drive on the left side of the road. Must be either in UK, South Africa or Australia?
