I saw someone on e-Bay selling a 2020 Select Tee Higgins Red Disco Prizm several months ago with the SAME serial number as the one I had in my collection! It has led me to question if serial numbered cards are as short printed as they claim!!!
I have also seen serial # cards with the same # sell at auction and the exact same card for sale on eBay both before, during, & after the twin has sold. After contacting both sides they were either vague or claimed they had the card for sale at multiple websites.
Sir, I love your videos. I work with Vets, who are battling PTSD. I’ve introduced them to the hobby, because hobbies give them necessary downtime. When I can get them cards, we get together, and watch your videos. They love them, and learn so much. Thank you, for helping me, help them, Sir. Regards, LT Quinn Mallonee🇺🇸
Interesting side note on Topps. Topps used to have a program where you could by messed up cards on the cheap, no backs, wrongs backs, blank fronts etc. They, today, are not worth much. But, for a collector who likes odd cards and errors, it was a cheap way to get some in bulk.
I’ve been in quality for many years, typically when something is “non-conforming” / “bad” that item is written/tagged up by a quality inspector. We would use red labels or bags to identify that item is bad and it would be placed in a cage with a lock. Then higher up employee (supervisor/manager)would disposition it. Idk how Topps handles quality but I would love to see or learn how.
This is just another valid point that this is no longer a hobby it's business how much the cards have 10 * the price. There's cars out there that an average person cannot afford just the rich people so now it's to the point of people stealing
Inside jobs, fakes, and other shady stuff have been going on for a long time. That's why I don't use card vaults. Your cards are ripe for the picking in a vault. I know someone who's scared to grade cards because he thinks they will get switched out.
3:02 maybe this is why they had made the announcement of multiple 1of1’s released by mistake. Maybe they were trying to investigate without alerting the person doing stealing/selling them.
People want Fanatics and Panini to spend more money with security and hiring and also want cheap products. Will never happen. Expenses ALWAYS get passed to the consumers! People will always find something to complain about. In order to have lower costs, not that they are, wages have to be lower. Same goes for lower quality of workers.
basically, more security and yes the cards should be destroyed immediately!the fact that it was set aside is bcoz someone was planning on those cards coz of course those are superfractors....keep up the good work SCI!!!til the next scandal 😁
But those that do NOT end up destroyed end up having a major "rarity" premium and people will pay more for them. Same thing happens at the US Mint. Then the actual card actually is worth less than the card meant to be destroyed. It is all smoke and mirrors.
Thats how you know there are more investors than collectors. If people were true collectors, they’d collect all football players. But nope, no demand for anyone other than top QBs, keeping prices at the cheap.
They should listen to experts like myself who deal with quality and product security their whole lives. Hire real experts and consultants, spend the money needed to upgrade their systems, audit, validate and verify their systems work
How did late 70’s to early 2000 rbs have long careers, sanders, Payton, Allen, Emmit, Thomas, Anderson, Dillion, Alexander, Byner, Dickerson, Craig, George, Fulk, Dorsett, Harris, Tomlinson, Waters, etc. it’s only in last decade or so that teams just don’t run the ball and rbs just don’t know how to take care of their bodies,
It’s not a regulated industry or one with any standards. We all see people sending the same cards in and getting different grades. This will happen when there are no standards and a lot of money involved.
I actually just clicked to go somewhere else after this video was done, but then realized I need to support this content by at least liking it. Tops insurance company should know, if tops has failed to provide a reasonable security level for protecting their business then they are no longer responsible and tops would be responsible. This isn’t the criminals fault, this is the card manufacturers fault 100% Simple solution: stop buying tops, their profits shift and maybe they realize when things like this happen the only people being robbed is the collection community. I do security for priceless 1/1 items across the country as an independent contractor accessing security measures and this is actually nauseating for me. (By 1/1 I don’t mean cards, nor memorabilia but rather the trophies these athletes work all year to attempt at earning.)
This could destroy the market this is like manipulating stock prices I'm not happy at all cuz now there will always be questioning of integrity on serton card of not a bunch of cards
Did I understand correct that Topps and Panini use the same printing facility? And Fanatics owns Topps plus a stake in the printing facility? Or is that all under Fanatics ownerships of Topps?
What a joke, how can Topp's offer "1 of 1" cards when they have copies sitting in the warehouse. Error cards or not seems we the customers are paying enough of a premium that this shouldn't be an issue...
For a business based channel just randomly adding employees to do A, B and C is not a good solution.. the hobby is full of these used car salesmen now with no true regulations.. there are better solutions.. the hobby is in trouble though.
Why cover this up, it's clear it wasn't some random Joe who stole these cards and the seller has to be trackable and that information needs to be revealed asap and an assessment made as to how much is out there, the person selling had been doing it for some time, he admits it was a group, insiders, a ring, I wonder who all could be involved.
T Pott's video from last weekend was outstanding. I hope your viewers take the time to check it out because it has the potential to open some eyes. Also pleased to hear an Aaron Donald shout out. In my opinion, his cards are a huge bargain right now as one of the greatest defenders ever. Recently purchased one of his silver prizm rookie cards for around $40 all in.

Ken Griffey Jr rookie card was printed 2 years. They were just printing whole sheets of the Ken Griffey Jr rookies. If you see a ken Griffey Jr rookie for sale. Dont pay more than $5 for it. They are not worth $1000.

Spending money on machinery to literally destroy money is a nonstarter for investors. Probably best to eat a little sh*t, apologize and keep doing what they're doing and trust *us* deviants will keep buying cards. Maybe, find a new recycling vendor. But. There's probably only one in the area equipped to deal with a very specific product and they've probably done business together since the plant opened. Tell your employees to destroy their make-ready which will last a month until production numbers go down noticeably and mid-level managers will tell their employees to forget it anyhow. Throw the cards in the recycling box, cross your fingers and get back behind that foil embosser.
Stuff like this happens in all places of manufacturing. With the rise of communism and unions. Workers try to “stick it to the man” and steal product. It’s unfortunate this happens to collectibles but I don’t think it’s ever going away.
T pot has some of the most awful takes in the hobby.... first it was rookies aren't worth it, now grading takes up too much space and isn't worth it? shesh...
All I have to say is this hobby has a lot of stupid people in it look at the brady baseball autos and base cards does no make any sense for that card be worth more then his football rookie wake up and stop falling for it people this is just a scam

I got a Ray Lewis PSA 10 downtown for $200. Better then these rookie qbs to me who go for way more. Unless your a investor and not collector
Panini and Topps use the same printing facility ? 😂
And Fanatics, which owns Topps, owns a share in the printing facility.
Card printing places should operate like currency printing facilities.
Hmmmm....wouldn't be surprised if Breakers are getting back doored big dollar cards.
put qr-codes on the card's serial mark/ trackers on all superfractors. That could help.
Enter the "Junk elite era" Where countless variations and exclusives/autos exist. Even /10 variations have sub- variations. WTF

Like the idea of Sports Card Investor getting full access to Panini/Fanatics Quality Control!
