I'm a Singaporean and it really excites me to see Geoff's dreams come true. We don't have a huge card-collecting community in Singapore, but it is slowly growing. It is so heart warming to see people just hanging out in the store. I hope one day I can be there at the store, to make some friends and just talk about cards.
I love your modern insight to the importance of the online sales which will help supplement the high costs of keeping a physical store going. Ingenious!!! It was really cool seeing your family and how much they support you. You are truly a blessed man. Congratulations on everything!
making everything digital is way to go. One of my local stores has everything in store listed on a site and you can check on pc in store. So much easier than going through bins to look.
As someone who has grown up in Atlanta area, interested in tcg playing and collecting since I was a kid, this was one of my favorite shops to enter in a long time. 1. The employees helping with trade ins and sales had great knowledge of the cards, and if you go in looking to, they give incredible trade in value (about 20-40% higher than other stores in the area). 2. They have an incredible selection on not only sports, but other tcgs such as pokemon, yugiho, one piece, etc. 3. The experience of getting to watch as many openings as you can (depending on how many people are ripping for whatnot in their private booths) allows you to watch people pull the grails we all want, while experiencing the authentic reaction of excitement someone gets as they pull that grail. If you are in Georgia and love the hobby, I absolutely recommend checking this shop out.
Even with all the hate, you keep pressing forward to help change the hobby for the better! Keep grinding and even if this endeavor doesn't pan out, you've made some moves that will make a difference in how we look at hobby shops!
If you notice ALL the haters are guys that didn't fit in well in high school. The guys that had to act like they are smarter than everyone and that's why they don't fit in. None of them ever have the nuts to let the people they trash have a real face to face with them.

"2 hours till showtime"... I know you're stoked and invested a lot into this, but the people coming in are thinking "card shop". Don't over-manage, micro-manage or put too much pressure on employees and customers. If you want it to feel like a place to hang and chill, that's called 'home'. Let it organically grow, like a home, nurture it yes, but don't let it overextend you or your family (in store or 'home'). Best of luck and remember the feeling of the card store you first worked in, and card stores you wen to as a kid!
Lol worked at a card shop at 14, claims to obsess over cards, meanwhile only started a RUclips card channel four years ago during the boom and still has no idea about actual card value and prices. Dude is simply a rich investor who found a new hobby.
