I was a bouncer in a pub in Louisiana and over a 3 year period I collected 275 fake ID's , they would always said I legally couldn't take their fake ID's and ranted and raved right up until I pulled my ID and badge out. I was also a Louisiana State Special Officer and had the same power of arrest as State Police. I really enjoyed that bouncer job.

Back when I was 19 I found a bar that didn't have a bouncer Sunday through Thursday nights, nor before noon Saturday and Sunday. I started going during those times. Then when I finally decided to go on a Friday night just to see what they were like then (Saturday and Sunday it was football all day so no music etc like the places just a block north on the 2 block version of Bourbon Street). When the bouncer asked for my ID I said since I was there all the time I left my wallet at home and just brought cash but these bartenders, other patrons etc knew me and could vouch for me. While he was still giving a bit of hassle the main manager walked by, saw me and asked why I was still standing there and to get my ass inside. At that point the bouncer just waved me through. I never really had a fake ID. When I did get a couple it was for a trip to Boston when I was 20, but then the one time they didn't work they weren't confiscated but was told, which I'd seen posted at a couple of places, that they only accepted DLs for out of state IDs and not state or work IDs (which both of mine looked like). I had ordered a Sam Adams and bowl of clam chowder (ate so much chowder and lobster on that trip it was ridiculous), so when he said that I just changed my drink to a Coke and said no biggie because I had a 6 ok at my aunt's place. We talked for a while and I asked what people like myself who were from a place like Chicago who don't drive (I actually had a DL, but many in Chicago actually didn't at that time) because the public transit is actually decent. He said he used to live in Evanston so knew what I was saying, and that sadly they just couldn't be served. I've always figured that one thing that didn't raise suspicion with him is that I didn't get upset or anything and just went with the law etc

Sounds like something dad would have done… he was a state trooper. Never was a bouncer but he would done the same thing you did.

I am thinking the city she lives in is the one giving her the fines for not mowing her own yard and she just the level of 🦇💩 crazy to think it's an HOA that doesn't exist that's fining her, so yes call the cops on her and I hope her family seeks medical help for her since she might be getting dementia

Nah! I can understand the confusion about who is responsible for maintaining the lawn. Had a short term neighbor once (that was the longest 2 1/2 years of my life). A couple of weeks after moving in, she yelled at me from the porch of the house she was renting demanding to know who was responsible for paying the gas and electric and the water, AND, who mows the lawn.(absentee landlord, house was a rental, but was in a community of primarily owner occupied homes). I told her she needed to read her lease agreement (maybe it was explained there) and if it wasn't I guess she would have to call the property management company. She ask for the management company's phone number. Again, I just stool there and said, "WHAT?" ...... then explained to her that the house she just moved into was being rented by a man that lived 2 counties away, aka - absentee landlord. I on the other hand owned my house, just like everyone else on the street. Apparently, that woman and her live in boyfriend had only ever rented and had never paid for utilities or maintained the yards of the houses. Like I said, those were the longest 2 1/2 years. Worst neighbors I ever had in that house.

Blocked roads story: I'm a retired truck driver. I've seen FAR too many accidents happen with other vehicles trying to get around the accidents blocking the road by getting on the shoulders, in the median, etc.
Fake ID story: I think Dan knew exactly what was going on and decided to help OP out.
No HOA story: That lady must come from somewhere where the HOA hires lawncare and just thinks anyone mowing a lawn must be hired by the HOA.

The guy in the Texas story reminds me of my dad telling me how he had this one friend that would constantly go to the bar and say he would just bring his $1.
Basically he was the moocher friend you had that would just try and get free drinks and just have a dollar as an excuse.

OP should wear a painter's white suit while he's cutting the grass that way he can stand out more and people will realize that he doesn't work for the city.
As well as keeping his allergies down by doing so, a ,2 for 1 deal.

Last story this doesn't make sense unless you have a replacement policy insurance NEVER covers the full current cost of replacing a home, car whatever. Things like mowing the yard or other property maintenance isn't covered by insurance and the city absolutely can fine the owner over that regardless of the insurance issues over the home

If you want your neighbor to mow your lawn you might want to try something called kindness. A year ago my neighbor mowed my lawn out of complete kindness. Our lawn hadn’t been mowed in a month. We had a baby 2 months prior. My husband had gotten Covid. One day my husband went out to mow our lawn noticing it had been mowed. We also have a corner house so theres an easement. We thought the city did it and we were going to get fined. Our neighbor texted us a few hours later saying he did it. He knew we were exhausted with a toddler and baby. He was mowing his lawn and decided why not just do ours too. We gave him some homemade cookies and BBQ sauce as a thank you. Neighbor had just put a pork shoulder on his smoker for a party that night so the sauce was perfect. I’m known quite well around our circle of friends to give out baked goods and homemade BBQ sauce as thank you presents.

I've had people stop and ask me if I would cut their grass for them and they'd pay me. I'm on disability and cut my grass for exercise if I don't go walking.🤷🏼‍♂️ I've been a victim of the heat in my life when I was young and that was enough. I cut my yard in sections and then break after each. I'm not doing any more in the heat than I have to.

Was waiting on the highway cause of a very bad car accident involving a teen who ran a stop sign and blew through it onto the highway and was hit by a semi truck. This idiot decided he was not going to wait behind us blew by us on the shoulder with people honking and screaming at him to stop. I could clearly see him laughing his head off at us until surprise surprise he rammed into the back of a state patrol car pushing it into another one almost hitting running over two state patrol officers who dove out of his way. I don't think he was laughing anymore since I knew this idiot and his parents who's car he was driving since he wrecked his the week before when he blew through a stop sign and plowed into another car on the highway.

These days any fender bender they close down the roads and send people well out of their way. Traffic should NOT be screwed like this as 99% of the time there is no reason. Slow to 25k yes ofcourse but closing down the road no.
On a country trip I got sent 40k out of my way and was shitting myself I would run out of fuel. They dont think about such things when they close the road. And yes I did not run out BUT the readout had me 5k past empty.

Ok that last story makes no sense. If there is no HOA, then who would be fining them a whopping $500?!

    • @lindat3595
      @lindat3595 7 месяцев назад

Considering the very tall grass draws in rodents, there are cities (not HOA's, the the cities themselves) that will fine you for not mowing your lawn, and leaving it in a very unkempt state. First they will send you a notice reminding you to mow your lawn. Then if you ignore the notice, the longer you ignore it, the more you will get fined. So yes, the story makes sense.

I'm 59 now... But when I was 16-17 in high school I had sideburns, mustache and a receding hair line, I would sit at different bars and get served I just kept it cool and didn't overdo it, all my buddies loved going out with me and we never got carded or busted for under age drinking, I never got in any wrecks either, drank with moderation. I was sitting in my regular bar the night before my 18th birthday nursing beer all night till midnight and cashed out went home.😂

At 16 I was going into clubs, and not getting any ID, but my sister, who was older, and of legal age, was always getting carded. But then again my mother, at age 70, was carded by a bus driver, who did not think she was old enough to be using a pensioner ticket. She nearly clobbered him, swore at him in Russian and Polish, but later on was glad he thought she was 20 plus years younger than she actually was.
