Use proper puller make sure the three bolts bottom out so you have full thread engagement. Put center bolt back in 3/4 of the way to protect crankshaft. Give a couple of burps on impact wrench and that’s the way to do it correctly
Thanks Buddy, I have got a 2001 with a no spark, gotta do the same thing this week. I'm not getting a reading at all from the trigger either, do ya think the trigger and stator went bad at the same time? Not much on these outboards, never messed with them any, I'm a helicopter mech not a outboard mech! Thanks for the video!
Are checking the stator or trigger? My issue was no reading parts on the stator. The trigger if I remember correctly you have the engine spinning to get a reading but if will only be a second. If you multimeter that will hold a reading that should work. I'm a recip Mech with a a&p & IA not a outboard Mech myself. I just live by the water and boat dealers around me will a sell a new engine fast the try to fix one for someone.
Just ordered a stator for my 25hp Mariner thanks for the video so I know what I’m getting into
Obgd pelo vídeo tirei bastante dúvidas, o meu está com problema na bobina do gatilho

Where did you buy the replacement stator?
Where did you find the ohm readings for the stator? I am trying to troubleshoot that, my trigger, and cdi to find the damage
I saw that coming 🤦 it helps to stop cranking on puller and lightlyish tap the puller w hammer

Did you find out the problem? I’m having the same issue with the stator and trigger.
@@txoutdoors2037 It was the stator on mine. Since I was into it, I changed both and kept the old trigger as a backup. Good luck!!

What was the part number for your stater?
I needing that same stator. What’s part number?
How fast does it push the dump trailer?
Most likely damaged trigger with bolt puller, pronounced staytor
I have the same engine, where did you buy your stator?
I got mine from eBay. But. I did see some on Amazon but eBay was cheaper in price.
What kind of gum you chewing, it sounds good AF.
Price buy cdi marine 25 hp?
I forget it was not to much. I want to say I got it from amazon.
Are you saying starder it’s a stator
Do not even think about using that triggered over unless you want to be stuck in the middle of the bay
I wouldn’t pay $800 for an engine that looks like that I got one in Bella shape for 600
