My husband who pastored a church for almost 5 years was pushed out and investigated for “spiritual abuse” by a company called GRACE. This company and the people who accused him of abuse used these terms. The church spent $45,000 to be told that biblical teaching and shepherding is biblical abuse. Maybe someone should dig into GRACE. Please keep us in prayer, we left that church and planted another 30 minutes away, but that investigation has tarnished my husband’s reputation, the extent of which only God knows. I was a part of a church that dismantled due to abuse. Most of the Christians left, deconstructed, and have become Progressive. We need to deconstruct the worldly education, morals and customs that corrupts Christians in the West. Our pastors and parents need to draw clear lines between Christians and the world. Also, churches need to address difficult faith issues by discussing books by knowledgeable scientists, biblical scholars and the early Christians.

Its exactly that mentality of believing peope and the world aren't actually so bad and the Bible (writen by man as their claim) scare mongers and creates a culture of hatred towards the world....please pray for them. They used to serve the Lord, but their heart has been hurt by the church in different ways. I ask that God please work in their heart and help set their mind right.
As an ex-Christian, my advice is to simply ask them to explain to you why they don’t think the Bible is true and God-inspired, then just listen without trying to counter every point. It sounds like you’re assigning an emotional motive without actually understanding where they’re coming from. Keep in mind that if someone doesn’t believe in God, they can’t be angry at Him.
Is there any way that you can discuss how a Christian should deal with a narcissistic spouse? Should we stay, should we leave, after years and years of abuse preceded by an abusive childhood, I don’t know what to do anymore and I desperately want to please God but I am truly at the end of my rope.
When our pastor addressed divorce while doing a sermon series on Malichi, he said to go through the attempt to reconcile and possible conclusion of divorce with your pastor and members of the church helping with council and prayer. To me that would make sense because you want the security in knowing that you tried everything. I'll pray for peace and guidance. I am dealing with that possibility in a family member. It is hard. I am about to read a book called Boundries by Townsend and Cloud. It's Christian based. I think Dr Cloud has more things to help in navigating toxic relationships. I'll be praying. ❤
You should absolutely leave. God does not want to you to be abused anymore. The idea of a God wanting to be please by you staying in a narcissistic and abusive marriage is extremely toxic. That kind of God would be narcissistic. Please leave. Please do what’s best for you. You do not have to please anyone. Find freedom and healing bc you deserve it.
Thank you for the show. I have listened to several of these deconstruction stories on you tube. And almost always they try not to speak with the Christian mentors, teachers and family it seems like that are afraid to speak to people that might try to talk them out. So they wait until they have changed their minds to talk to Christians and then they wonder why the response is negative.
Omg this is so true! I used to be like this before I was saved. I wanted God to fit my politics and I would vigorously defend my statements even though I didn't even fully believe them. 29:23
Armed with the flimsy arguments of apologetics, we take a second look at our situation and realize that it is we who have been deceived. We have no allegiance to atheist scholars and influencers. No one on either side is intending to deceive.
As we approach the end of the age "apostasy will increase". In his day, disciples of Jesus walked away from him. I don't know if as believers we can slow anybody down from deconstructing. Jesus himself couldn't stop it and it is a fulfillment of the book.

"I would never love a God who..." Thank you for touching on this. My sister used that as a reason why she lives for the world after my son passed away. It always frustrated me because she had no relationship with my son and my husband and I leaned on God to get us through that terrible season. It tends to feel like a cop-out to me.
You are a strong woman. I'm a new mom. I hope to be at this point to where no matter what happens in my life, I will lean on the Lord and not blame Him. It is not His fault. You are a blessed woman by far.
Even if we have free will, God still knows all the branches of history we could possibly take and chose to create them regardless. It logically follows that God is responsible for everything that happens, good or bad. You’re arbitrarily associating everything good with God and rejecting everything bad. In short, you’re constructing God from your circumstances. I apologize if I’m ignoring any personal feelings and perhaps I’m being insensitive. But when considering what’s true, I tend to trust logic more than feelings and intuition.
Not sure if you are referring to me, but I am not arbitrarily associating good with God Jesus spoke to this when the disciples saw the blind man, "Who sinned, this man or his parents that he might be born blind?" Jesus said neither but that the works of God should be revealed in him. The morning I found my toddler son dead, my feelings were beyond description, but I chose to read the Bible and bring my sorrow and confusion and "feelings" to God. He met me where I was and comforted me. Romans says that "All things work together for good for those who love the Lord." It definitely didn't feel good to bury my son, but I know that is was in God's will and He can use it for the glory of His kingdom and 17.5 years later I can see glimpses of that in the lives of my surviving children. As for feelings that I mentioned, I said I felt my sister's excuse as to why she walked away from God was a cop out. She wanted to live for the world and my son's (who she never met) death was used as a reason for why she no longer trusts God. I am a strong advocate that feelings cannot be trusted. The only source of truth is God's word and it can be trusted even when we feel lost, unloved, and forsaken by Him. It doesn't mean those feelings are true, but God loves us and wants us to bring those feelings to him. The Bible says He is close to the brokenhearted, so clearly God realizes we have feelings and He can comfort (literally with strength) us through any season.
The Holy Spirit deconstructed me meaning that many of the things I was taught in my denominational upbringing was not according to the Word of God, and as my mind was renewed, the Holy Spirit illuminated those things, and I changed to those new beliefs.
So how can you be certain that your new denominational beliefs are not just as flawed? It’s easy to pick and choose verses rather than understanding what the original author was trying to say. If you do the latter, there is no one monolithically correct doctrine, as the Bible authors sometimes disagree on these issues.
I'm glad Christian's are finally catching up. This idea has been around for 100 years and has been the spirit of the age for fifty. What is driving it's awareness in current Christian culture?

Very helpful discussion that brings together the effects of modernism, postmodernism, a d liberalism on the church. I was reminded of the recent works of Carl Trueman and the great work written by J. Gresham Machen, “Christianity and Liberalism.” It is a short book written one hundred years ago that reads like it was written in our day. The evangelical church has been heavily impacted and we are in a period of sifting, urged on by politics. I am one who believes that there is no place for politics, directly, in church. That said, a proper understanding of scripture and a belief in inspiration, inerrancy, authority, and sufficiency will lead to application in many political areas in private life. Even so, we should be patient with new believers and weak brothers and sisters. And we should allow our own political views to be challenged. For example, I am not supportive of Israel as a nation that can do no wrong. I once was in my earlier days but as this situation in Gaza evolves, I have been forced to learn things about Zionism I did not want to recognize. Nonetheless I recognize that my brothers who have been raised in Dispensationalism have a different view. Brethren can be in fellowship if we recognize the place for politics in private, not within the church. Let us embrace the scriptures.
These progressive churches sound very confusing. And we know God is not the author of confusion. We can’t change God‘s word to fit. Our ideology God alone is truth. His word is truth, and it leads us and guides us to his truth. Thank you for this conversation. Thank God I know God’s word very well. And the Holy Spirit is my helper.❤️🙏🏻
But conflating progressive policy with progressive theology is incorrect. There are millions of people with orthodox, traditional theology that still vote Democrat. The black church is a very traditional church tradition that also leans left.

Hi y’all! I appreciate the video. Especially how you took the time to understand different perspectives. I have one question. Is it ok for me to be agnostic and live my life and participate in American culture? I feel content in my beliefs. But this whole video, I couldn’t help but feel like I was being accused of something for seeking with an open heart and finding a different answer. Much love :)
You can participate in any culture and believe whatever you want. That's your own free will. But God will always be God and His word stays the same, and Jesus will always be the way. Without accepting Him, you will perish.
Let me deconstruct this for you..."But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."
Deconstruction is just another word for someone's individual spiritual journey. As a christian, and former evangelical I can speak to the invasive and destructive nature of the evangelical view of faith vs introspective ones. That said, I respect your individual spiritual choices. I may not agree with them and we could debate them, but here you are making it an issue of identity and describing the act of someone re-examining their beliefs as pernicious. It's frankly very toxic. A spiritually and mentally healthy person should always be willing to challenge any of their patterns or beliefs. What you are calling deconstruction is really just the use of reason.
Rather than “toxic”, I would be more specific and say that it punishes intellectual integrity. Honest investigation is necessary for healthy truth-seeking habits. It also suggests that whoever is preventing it is not prepared to deal with the actual arguments.
@lafayetteplace3031 I'm not saying you shouldn't be free to do so! But deconstruction would imply that you're carefully examining how it's built as you take it apart, in order to understand it better, and then possibly putting it back together. Destruction is more just taking it apart and criticizing it and leaving it destroyed.
@@ginanaphone that's also freedom 🦅🇺🇸 the freedom to choose ones religion or to choose to live a secular life. I encourage you to have friends who are both Christian, atheist, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, etc. If you only surround yourself with other Christians. You might fear deconstruction. But if you surround yourself with all walks of life. You will see. Athiests/deconstructed people are nothing to fear.
@@lafayetteplace3031 How obnoxiously condescending and full of assumptions... Please stop pretending you know anything about the way I think. You might realize that everything you said is completely unnecessary and redundant to what I already know and think.
I enjoyed the conversation between you two but I was really surprised to hear Alisa say she’s “always been a Christian” especially with how solid her theology is. We can’t have always have been a Christian, there has to have been a point (even at a young age) when we turned from our sin and realized we needed Christ.
I think she just meant she always believed in God. Not saying she didn't sin. We all do. But when you grow up around that in your family, it can just be adopted into your everyday life and you just believe. Others don't even know anything about Jesus until they are adults. I think that's all she meant.
I don't think we need to stop deconstruction. I think we need to direct it, part of the reason deconstruction is a thing is the church doesn't have answers for a lot of things that they should have. We need to be studying our scripture. Really really well and we need to be getting the answers that other people want to know And if the answer doesn't want to be bound, we need to be honest and say we don't know the answer instead of this weird extreme sovereignty doctrine that causes people to be driven away from the church
My issue is Paul says it’s better be single and not get married then it is to get married so to me marriage and children isn’t a command if you don’t want those things

@@dennis87885 So if I told you that I was a fundamentalist Christian who legitimately believed that Jesus dies for my sins, why exactly was I not a true Christian? I just ordered 6 of her books. The Holy Spirit led me to your ministry about a week ago. Such a blessing. Want to share with you and your guests a musical that I have written called FOREVER JUBILEE. The musical includes over 167 Messianic prophecies that Yeshua has fulfilled, all from the Tanach. ( There are over 396.. But that would be a very long musical😊 ). I was inspired by a book called A READY DEFENSE, by Josh McDowell. In it, he states that if just 48 of the Messianic prophecies were fulfilled by one man, it would be the mathematical statistic all equivalent of 10¹⁵⁷th power. Ten, followed by 157 zeros! That is a very big number to bet your soul against! With my Jewish influence, I decided to look them up. I also looked up who wrote them, and in which year. It was profound. The WORD says that, "you will know that I am God because I will tell you the end from the beginning." I first made a banner of the number 10, followed by 157 zeros. It typically stretched over 3 sides of the sanctuary. I also wrote the Prophetic scriptures on card stock and stood them up all over the sanctuary and the seating. This got the youth group's attention. I signed each one by the Prophet with the year written. Then one day, the Lord said, "SING IT!" I strongly believe that music is the language of heaven. So, I sat down on my piano stool and wrote out the first outline. The Lord filled it in as one song after another was written, along with the script. Other than five songs that I felt had to be included, like Exodus, these are all originals. Many verifiable miracles happened along the way. When nearly all of the songs were written, it was time to go into the studio and fill the parts. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, " you are going to be attacked on every side, are you up for it?" "Here I am Lord, send me." I did not know how many sides I had at the time... But, I would still say yes. Along with the attacks, there have been just as many miracles, including the Lord promising much fruit, and that it would remain. The first fruits being the very large Jewish family that made copies of the musical, even though not finished or yet properly mixed, by the family of the radiation technician, Susan, as I was diagnosed with breast cancer the week before we started recording. This involves a very incredible miracle how she ended up being my technician the entire time because the machine broke in the other room and was being calibrated for use again, my last day of treatment. The miracle finding of the lead singer.... So much to share. I can give you links to two interviews, if you would like to hear them. The musical has launched a radio station, Jewish Messiah Radio. I have the complete audio version, which has been aired the last four years on Passover and Easter. This last year, 28 times. I have the stage script. The movie script, the SATB SHEET MUSIC. The full orchestration for each instrument. The background music for churches without an orchestra, and even a condensed script/version that can be used for small congregations. The setting is Paul with the Bereans, as they examine the Messianic prophecies together, verifying that Yeshua fulfilled them ALL. The radio broadcast did not include the Overture or the opening Narration due to time. During a live performance, this lets late comers get to their seats. I live near Dallas and there is always traffic! I am attaching the Dropbox of the broadcast on NoteSpire Radio and the RUclips video of Yeshua singing from the cross, MY GOD. This one song includes 17 prophecies. If just 8 prophecies were fulfilled by Yeshua, it equals 10¹⁵th. Which is more that the total population of planet Earth combined . If you know anyone that would like to perform this musical, I will not charge them. As I was once a choir director, I am well aware of how much it costs a congregation to get the rights to perform one yearly Christmas or Easter musical! And if you know anyone who would be willing to back an incredible and powerful movie, I need their support. This has to be a quality production for the Lord, that He has promised will reach and keep MANY SOULS FOR HIS ETERNAL KINGDOM. I pray I have not offended you in any way by posting this in your comments. www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/alfeqc7rzax7vmsur0ovh/AK4PoXuLdN2J_M4-vrC-8Mc?rlkey=jrqaq1zparnfgx7o5m047oh8u&dl=0 My God, Eli, Lama, Sabachthani ruclips.net/video/4SH-E4tVb6E/видео.html Blessings, Ana Chapman (Productions)
I think the same worldview shapes progressive politics and progressive Christianity. The operative worldview is actually progressivism (belief in man’s inherent goodness, relativism on moral issues, utopia achievable via human effort). And I think it flows from how very, very poorly the Church has discipled believers. The vast majority of “people in church” do not actually have a Christian worldview. So when their Christianity is challenged, it gives way before the worldview they’ve actually always had.

I have a family member going through deconstruction and its truly heartbreaking.

"I would never love a God who..." Thank you for touching on this. My sister used that as a reason why she lives for the world after my son passed away. It always frustrated me because she had no relationship with my son and my husband and I leaned on God to get us through that terrible season. It tends to feel like a cop-out to me.
I'm so sorry you lost your son. I can't even imagine that. I can't imagine experiencing such a tragedy without God by my side.
Excellent. I learned so much! Thank you.
Im Catholic but when I heard that Kevin Max deconstructed I was devastated and confused because I had never heard of "deconstruction".
Great interview. Very informative. Thank you
The Holy Spirit deconstructed me meaning that many of the things I was taught in my denominational upbringing was not according to the Word of God, and as my mind was renewed, the Holy Spirit illuminated those things, and I changed to those new beliefs.

My encouragement to you would be to acquire a Bible and read it with an open mind and open heart. My blessings!
It sounds more like destruction than deconstruction.
@@ginanaphone sounds like the freedom to choose ones religion or lack thereof.
Freedom is nice 🦅🇺🇸🦅👍🦅🇺🇸
@lafayetteplace3031 I'm not saying you shouldn't be free to do so! But deconstruction would imply that you're carefully examining how it's built as you take it apart, in order to understand it better, and then possibly putting it back together. Destruction is more just taking it apart and criticizing it and leaving it destroyed.
@@ginanaphone that's also freedom 🦅🇺🇸 the freedom to choose ones religion or to choose to live a secular life.

This conversation! 😍🙌🏼✝️

I just ordered 6 of her books. The Holy Spirit led me to your ministry about a week ago. Such a blessing.
Want to share with you and your guests a musical that I have written called
FOREVER JUBILEE.
Ten, followed by
157 zeros! That is a very big number to bet your soul against!
With my Jewish
influence, I decided to look them up. I also looked up who wrote them, and in which year. It was profound. The WORD says that, "you will know that I am God because I will tell you the end from the beginning."
I first made a banner of the number 10, followed by 157 zeros.
The musical has launched a radio station,
Jewish Messiah Radio.
