    I like the overall concept and connectivity options, agree with the crunch and think an addition of a spring reverb plus an internal noisegate would make this an overall better product (along with spreading the panel arrangement out for accessibility). I loved the clean tones and would seriously consider buying this if I was currently in the market for such a product. Cheers!

    This unit does look rather interesting. Analog is a must in my uses.
    Currently I've been over the moon with my (KORG NU-Tube) Vox VE Silk Drive, and am about to add their Copperhead (Marshall) to my lineup.
    I typically only fuss between digital vs analog when preamps are concerned. Analog preamps direct (in parallel) allow for incorporating various front end analog pedals without DSP round trip latency or input impedance issues (mostly). After that I'm fine with using digital post FX and cab IRs.
    The Vox Valve Energy line I've found does all that cheap as chips!
    Cheers Andy!

    I'm surprised you didn't mention the DSM Humboldt Simplifier DLX, which is very similar. The DLX has fewer reverbs, though they're also very good; it has three amp types and any two can be used at the same time; it also has headphone (with separate volume), XLR and unbalanced outputs, plus analogue speaker emulation. It's a more compact pedal. Its SRP is a bit higher but it is cheaper on sale (as it is at Andertons at the time of writing). BUT it can't be used as an audio interface or with a phone: two omissions that may disqualify it for some users. Also, it has a number of reported problems with one of the two channels, so buyer beware. I think both these pedals are well worth considering.

  • @Robstafarian
    @Robstafarian 10 месяцев назад

    This pedal seems something like a Fender Deluxe Reverb in contrast to the Laney Foundry Ironheart Loudpedal. I could see using this a clean channel or fuzz tone alongside that Laney pedal to create a 3.5 channel, 60W, solid-state, pedalboard amp with reverb. For someone in the US, this costs about $40 more than that Laney pedal (before international shipping and such).

    • @Alan-zf2tt
      @Alan-zf2tt 10 месяцев назад +1

      I'm wondering if.... this is more of a 21st century product. It looks designed for those places with built-in PA that also has decibel cutout devices. Too loud = no sound.
      Plus! Its emphasis seems to be clean. But bad boy image requires a bit of middle class modified distortion somewhere in the loop.
      I don't think it will compete in raw sound on set compared with clean renditions complying with Health n Safety stuff
      Does it have a place in de modern world?
      Yeh - for sure. Who wants to lug around heavy amps with even heavier speakers? And if they did would they be more tempted with a Victor amp?

      I just want a tube amp, with a built in cab sim, in the direct out. Egnster makes a decent one, and it sounds more like a Fender through the cab sim, which uses the tube pre snd power amps, not an IR or model. It’s the amp, so it actually sounds like a tube amp.
      There are others, that have the Two Notes Cab Sim built in, but that’s another thousand dollars at least.

    • @Alan-zf2tt
      @Alan-zf2tt 10 месяцев назад

      @@CorbCorbin After a bit more thought ... maybe this amp targets iPad users with ensuite stuff. While frenzy music usually depends on heads & cabs a return of "chamber music" along with live production events could be trumps with a device like that? Sounds decent at times. And, it could replace carrying an amp around for some folks. But, considering there are other choices at that price, or a little more, that you wouldn't HAVE to have other pedals or full preamps to get a decent crunch or rock tone. And a tiny dip switch to change channels? Who does that? That is unwieldy at best. Frankly there are better options out there.

    Pretty good. The one thing that would kill it for me would be not being able to keep the cab sim on the XLRs while bypassing it on the unbalanced outputs. I sometimes like to run XLRs to FOH and unbalanced outputs to a pair of inexpensive guitar amps for monitoring. While it does have a couple of features over the Simplifier, the Simplifier remains a better fit for my needs.

    It sounds great but all the controls seem to move, wobble when you adjust them; as if they're not fixed to the front plate but just stick through it from a circuit board. It makes me wonder if it is solid enough for regular use, let alone longtime use.

      This was a protype that Andy had for a long time. In the regular production units, that is fixed 😊

      @@TheGuitarGeek You made it a big point of the video to point this feature out. Want to be sure that people know that they don't need to buy a new thing to get that functionality because it's not unique. Not sure that my earnest comment deserved that tone from you though.

    Ohoh. Great to have them dippies acessible, but… is it a good idea? That circuitboard is flimsily wobbling already, why they turned that diagram by 90 degrees… well, dont use around beer consuming sweating wild mamals…. Next time add a adequateley ip rated cap with hinge for those top side dippies. That reverb pot wobbles like…. Thought you said you know us? Flimsyflimsy.

    This looks like almost a good one. Does the Unbalance Output(s) also have the Cab Sim (if the cab sims are selected with those DIP switchers)? I'm hoping that with the Cab Sims selected, i could have the XLR Output(s) with the Cab Sims while at the same time the Unbalanced Output(s) without the Cab Sims.... Is that possible? BTW, Free love on the free love freeway 😀
