  • Thank you all so much for your questions! I filmed this over a week ago, so if your questions weren't in this one, they'll be in the next one that I do. I'm sorry that I'm out of focus for 99% of the video, that will also be better in the next one! Luckily the part where my dog is in it is in focus 😄
Happy new year to everyone, so excited to play more games and make more videos in 2024!

It has been so cool watching this channel grow from a couple hundred to 25k subscribers this past year. You are doing great work!
I am actually a playtest coordinator for the MCDM RPG in their discord, so you if you ever wanted to participate in a playtest then I would love to show you the system!

You have only been DMing for 5 years. That’s crazy to me because I started DMing 5 years ago in my freshman year in high school (20 now, was 15). I had no clue how to play, but a few friends of mine and I had been saying to each other all year that we need to play D&D at some point. So in the summer after freshman year, I borrowed the PHB and Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica books from my uncle, skimmed through both in one day, and then the next day we all drew a world map, and started playing for 8 hours. It was great

This is a seriously underrated channel. Thank you for helping me improve at online DMing. My players and I have been having so much fun since I started DMing this (or last now) year and a lot of it is because of tips I’ve gotten from your channel.

I really enjoyed this video! I'm enjoying all of your content in fact. It's very casual and informative, and makes me want to get into more involved projects like the kinds you're showcasing.
I fully agree about the results of the OGL fiasco. Having the SRD under Creative Commons opens up so many doors for creators, and I think it's going to strengthen the hobby as a whole. 5E has great foundations, and the OGL lets creators turn it into whatever they imagine.

I largely set character backstory for my players. Where they start is part of the world, but where they take it is up to them.

DND QUESTION: If I’m a character that has a 10ft reach (Path of the Giant for example) can I run within 10 feet an enemy that has a 5ft reach, attack them with a great axe, and run back to where I was without provoking an attack of opportunity? PS cool video, I like your content, sorry to use you comments like this, but many knowledgeable people come here.

The time aspect of the campaign idea reminds me of the book series Pathfinder by the same author as Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card. Could be an interesting fantasy story to look at to get some ideas relevant to that train of thought

You say goblins are a bit boring mechanically, but with the new MCDM goblins you can have goblins in your level one game that are actually super fun!

The splintered reality would be really cool concept for two parallel IRL parties meeting. Scheduling nightmare but perhaps on a few sessions there’s that swap. Especially if you can plant McMuffins each party needs

your late monsters are great...your earlier level ones, I prefer things like Bullette and Umberhulk, but I like humanoid bad guys all the way through...purple worm is epic....Kraken is a favorite, as it is a environmental...like you basically got to be on a ship, and the bad guy is basically like a video game boss fight...hitting tentacles...

If you do an cold/ice breathing dragon, call it a Nogard. "Dragon" spelled backwards. (I probably am not the first to think of this, but always thought it would be a fun twist)

So yeah I myself am a Nadpodd, Dimension 20, Dungeons and Daddies dude, I've been playing dnd for 30 years, dming some of that, mostly recently...but very inconsistent, I love to the new school of 5e dnd. You should try Dungeons and Daddies if you like naddpod, its even sillier but also at a few time way more traumatic and emotional, to explain, Anthony Burch (of hey ash whatcha playing, rocket jump the show) is very loose with the rules and very nice, but story-wise is very mean at times(but the table is fine with it because they want to make the best story, they are all writers, and know how to write)

Yeah I think I listened to the first 10 or so episodes of Dungeons and Daddies and really enjoyed it! I keep meaning to go back and start listening again, I'll have to do that. I hear it just keeps getting better as they go!
