Hi Karen, l would pick up the basket. There is always somebody who is happy to get a lovely basket for less because it has some damage. If you can't sell it, which I doubt, it would be nice in the booth for some tschatka.

I could be wrong but that Yatzee game brings more because it's in a wooden box and not cardboard. Have a Great Vacation! You're just like me; I used to get melancholy BEFORE the vacation even occurred thinking about it being over :) Slow your vacation down by A. (not thinking about it being over ha ha,) and B. just soaking in every moment, minute by minute and intentionally being present in that moment. I like to capture a mental snapshot of sorts. Michael Graves was an architect and designer pivotal to the post modernist movement and he was the first target collab. His collab paved the way for the target we know today, showing they could offer a high quality, well designed product for an accessible price to the everyday consumer. “The art of the everyday object” best known for his whistling tea kettle but he also designed hundreds of modern buildings. His collab with target ended in 2012 and he passed in 2015.

Great video!! I always pick up Michael Graves. He has an unusual mark on his items. I have some beautiful square cobalt blue candle holders from him and they are gorgeous. I think his designs are similar to Jonathan Adler. Hope y'all enjoy your well-deserved vacation and maybe sneak us in a few moments there❤
Once you get a Mara mug you’ll easily identify them just by looking at them. The glaze, the size and the colors (as well as weight) give them away. Love them. Also i bought a few michael graves items at target when his collection came out. He’s an architect so his stuff was all very clean design with a pop of color or interesting design element. His signature is also easy to identify if you don’t see any left over tags.
The belt is fantastic!! Wish I had that when I was linedancing in my younger days 😂😂😂😂 couldn't get me off the 💃 dance floor!!!❤❤❤❤
I’m a basket weaver. The handle and splint are costly. A few breaks shows how useful and loved this basket was. Wet her down, revitalize the splint and you may get some “give” to wiggle the splint a bit, thus the holes become smaller. Always look at the handle and width of splint when assessing a basket. I would easily have paid $2.99 at Goodwill or yard sale.

Hello - Michael Graves was a renowned designer who was one of the first Target collabs - awesome find!
Came here to say that :-)! He designed a bunch of different products for Target, cleaning tools, clocks, games etc etc. He also designed a famous building at Disney.

Michael Graves is a famous american architect. His porcelain cups and stainless kitchen accessories are extremely popular and timeless. I had a kettle. My son bought a kettle. I stupidly donated porcelain mugs in the grandmother pattern. I think they go for at least $50 each! 🥲. He has a target line that is less desirable than his more expensive independent line sold through Alessi.
Michael Graves has ton of items in Target. Lots of ceramics etc. That blue is his signature blue gray that is on most of his items.

I've sold Mara mugs before and kept one for myself...a cute fish design...that I use regularly. They're really very unique, high quality, microwave & dishwasher safe (I hand wash mine or put in top rack only) and heavy (keeps them from tipping over) and can fetch very good to great prices!

Since i found your channel i have just been binging on them. I wish we had a goodwill here in Australia. We only have Op shops and they price things real high so a bit hard to flip clothes or ornaments.. its just a matter of checking often i guess and some shops like a smaller charity op shop they price things verbally so you can haggle but not in Salvation Army and st.vincents they have stickers with. The price.

I love those copper plates. I think they were the find of the day. I wish you hadn't put the bristle Christmas tree on the shelf like that. I know you wanted to save it from toppling over, but now it'll have bent bristles. Believe it or not, but they're my favourite Christmas decorations, so I'm a bit biased towards them😊. When I find them, I always have to sort through them to get one without wonky bristles🤣

Would you believe that the wooden bowl with the silver horns sticking up out of the center is actually a fruit bowl and the horns are for hanging bananas. New they go for 85.00 to 140.00. Neiman Marcus is the 140.00.

Nippon porcelain was in production from 1891-1921 so I don't think they are "making" anything. I also read that there are in fact reproduction Nippon pieces where "making" it would apply but I don't know that you would want those as opposed to the pieces that were "made" by the original Nippon.

Michael Graves is a well known industrial designer. The piece got got him on the popular radar in the 1980s was a set of metal Micky Mouse chairs. The next was a tea kettle he designed for Alessi that was conical shaped with a bird stopper on the spout. Target then hired him to design for them to give the general population access to "high design" ( as they did with Isaac Mizrahi for clothing). I don't think he is still contracted with Target.

I think that at this time of year more people are having yard sales or donating to churches for their rummage sales, with only the picked over, leftovers being donated to thrift stores.
