Aww watching this is making me feel so nostalgic. Haven’t been to Cambodia since 2017 and I’m also a Cambodian/Chinese from Aus (born and raised in Sydney) I used to take my trip there for granted but since Covid I really regret feeling that way. Made me realize how lucky I was to be able to have the opportunity to travel and experience it all. Hope to be back soon!

I'm khmer and I left our home, Phnom Penh when I was nine year old to Europe. When you spoke khmer, and of your feeling about our country it brought tears to my eyes. That part when you said you were happy and sad because of the lost years you have spent apart from our motherland, I felt that. I could relate so much to you. But to see another khmer girl who went through more or less the same experiences as me of leaving the our motherland at a young age, and starting new at another country it must have been difficult for you. you are very brave :) I wish you well and lots of success.

It's interesting to see ethnic Chinese feeling at home in Cambodia. I'm not saying this in a bad way at all because my wife is half Cham and Chinese so my in-laws are Chinese. I myself am ethnically Cham. My parents were born in Cambodia but I was fortunate enough to be born in the States. My motherland is in ancient Champa (what is now Central/South Vietnam) but even though we are not ethnically Khmer we all share a love for Cambodia as our home. I actually just got back from Cambodia with my wife and kids recently and we already miss it. In the meantime, I need to brush up on my Khmer but I can't wait to go back!

Mon- khmer people migrated from the cold province of Yunnan China near the Himalayan mouhtain. When they migrated to hotter climate their skin tone change thats all. But their genetics remains the same. Just look at the Mon-khmer tribes like the Ta'ang, Lawa, Khmu, and such. They are mostly light skin.
