Joe beat Drake in many key stats last season in his first year starting and in the SEC. Drake 9 or 10 INT's last season. Threw for about 1K less in 23 than 22 and you see his slower arching HS passes and you know why those INT's happend. Joe got elite coaching from a QB guru, Heupel for 3 years. Won 9 games last year. Threw for about as many TD's as Drake did and in a much harder conference. Plus, just looks more NFL ready than Drake and many are having meltdowns over it to justify the cost for Drake.. If Joe is traded, it's because that teams wants joe to get on the field and they also think Pat's over payed for Drake. Preseason most likely will see Joe doing as good or better than Drake.

Does some what worry in upper management of this team or at least some of them think Joe looks more NFL ready than Drake. I'd say some at least do. For a QB picked so close to the top where Daniels is, he looks nothing like on the level of a Daniels and imo, should look a bit more comparable.

The guy on the left suggests that the Patriots organization has been regretting drafting Maye and supports that assumption with a comparison of highly drafted Maye with relatively low drafted Joe Milton where Milton looked a lot better throwing the ball, and then the guy in the middle proceeds change the focus of his comments to talking about Milton! Somebody tell him to follow along and pay attention to the focus of the discussion. Secondly, you can’t say a player is over drafted until much later down the road and if JJ, Penix, or Nix become starters they most certainly won’t have been over drafted. Another one is LeSean McCoy said the talk around the team was when they signed Nnamdi Asomugha. "Drake Maye may need a year or two". LOL Understatement. Heath Shuler also could throw it much better than Drake Maye's percentages. Dude in the middle is dumb. lol Joe has a higher passing accuracy than Drake Maye in 23 and in a much much much much much harder defensive conference and better conference. Ok, also, 9 or 10 INT's last season compared to Joe's 2 or 3 in the SEC. That lone tells you he can make the middle of the field throws. Secondly the style of offense for TN is the Tempo Spread, and therefore it benefits are you don't need to force the ball into coverage im the middle of the field and when it's designed to run by what the defense gives you and most defenses give up the middle of the field the least? Is this this dudes first year watching football? LOL Joe torched the Bama defense at Bama vs Saban to the tune of 20-7 first half. . In your dreams could Drake have done that! lol Guy losers to VA? LOL What did Joe do to VA last year vs Drake losing to them? Oh boy in the middle needs to go watch Joe's games again. Especially the Orange Bowl, Bama game, and a host of others.. Raw? Every rookie QB is raw! lol And both looked better than Will Levis last season in the TN camp. The Tempo Spread in the air will beat you on the outside more often than anywhere else vs traditional offenses in passing. And downfield, as well as short sideline bubble. Bottom line is Maye is supposed to look better than he does at this point and for the amount they paid for him. Joe looks looks like a good bargin that this venture by comparison. @@gwhite7136 The rest of the quote from Jerod Mayo is this : " He has a lot to work on, but I know he will put in the time and effort." Drake Maye had the least amount of talent around him in college than any of the other top ranked QBs. He completed the most degree of difficulty passes out of all of the top ranked QBs. McCarthy only threw the ball on average ten times a game at Michigan because they were a run first team. Most of the time he was throwing check downs/screens and when he did throw it deep it was to a receiver that was wide open. McCarthy was a game manager, Michigan won with him not because of him. Drake Maye was viewed as a top QB prospect (some scouts and PFF viewed him as the best QB in this draft) for a long time. McCarthy suddenly shot up the draft board when Jim Harbaugh hyped him up. Drake Maye is clearly the better prospect even if he is more raw. Mac Jones was supposedly the "most NFL ready QB in his draft" Yeah, we all know how that worked out...

@@williamreid6288 The least amoun tof talent? Debateable. Hendon Hooker didn't even have 65 schoorshi players on the team in 2022. That is what elite QB looks like and those stats with very little talent to go with it. 10 INT's is not on other players sir, it's on the QB. Many other schools have seen elite QB's who had lesser to deal with. Mayo is simply saying, Maye has a ways to go. No argument about McCarthy. I think Maye could be better than McCarthy but Maye has had two years starting in the ACC. That is not prepartion for the NFL. The SEC? Yes, imo. Jones hasn't been in even as long as Tua. Worked out? Son, it's still early days even for Mac Jones and Burrows. And those guys had far far far far better stats than Drake Maye. Not even close. This is why I'm saying it's going to be awhile for Maye and CJ Stroud makes him look pedestrian. Drake Maye was never viewed as a top 5 prospect until Travis of FSU went down. Sorry but imo, he's the hype the ACC had to have for the NFL draft. Be different if his stats were better but 24 passing TD's, 10 INT's and 1k less yards in 22 in the ACC. Not impressed. Penix, Daniels were miles beyond where Drake is.. And it will take time for Drake. Right now, I'd put him in the top 10 QB's drafts this year, but 3? No way, no how that translates into on the field success right away. And he's made no passes that Joe Milton hasn't made, at any level, or distance. Like to see him throw more level, with more velocity and that may come if he builds his uppper body more. It's soft and creates that high school looking arch passing he throws. That isn't NFL level passing. And why he throws a lot of pics, all got to be fixed.

NO SHIT the rookie QB's are raw and have things to work on! Only dopey homers or fanboys expect that Maye is a guy who starts from jump! The only reason he was even drafted and the Pats didn't trade back is because the Krafts insisted upon it ! Make no mistake, now that Belichick isn't around to at least somewhat prevent it.......Bob Kraft is going to do his best to make Jerry Jones the less meddlesome owner of the two!
We need to hope that Maye is even allowed to square away his footwork, mechanics, understanding of the game etc. before he is forced into the QB1 role, because more likely than not, he won't because Kraft will want him in! If he has to start before ready and doesn't play well, you know how quickly Pats fans will turn on him! Then you can add confidence to the list of things he has to improve and a fanbase that will be against him and a team owner and fanbase helping to burn a high pick!
The host calling out Maye's arm sounds like such a fool! Maye's arm has NEVER been his problem and is high end , even by NFL standards! NO SHIT the ball looks more live coming from Joe Milton! Milton has a literal top 10 (maybe 5) arm ALL TIME as far as arm strength! That doesn't mean Maye is firing a Mac Jones special! Bledsoe had a stronger arm than Brady even after he improved it. Would you like take Drew over TB12? Jeff George may have had the strongest arm ever and how did it serve him? Our rookie QBs both have alot to work on , but even worrying about their arms immediately made me discount the one host.
Jacoby Brissett is the prototypical bridge QB.....so let him be just that, to give who we all hope is our franchise QB his best chance to become that! Let him work on all of his deficiencies. Learn what he does best, to tailor part of the offense to it and use another free agency period and draft to strengthen the roster in the many areas it still absolutely needs......then start him in his sophomore NFL season where by default he will be improved, w/a better roster around him and he will be justTWENT TWO years old! Then if he flames out, at least he was given a legitimate chance!
Why risk forcing him into the lineup on a bad team w/an offense that maybe only Rhamondre Stevenson would be a starter on another team in the entire NFL, when regardless of how he plays we won't win many games? Then, you will literally be burning a top 3 draft pick! Yet that is probably going to be what Kraft will force......if by some miracle Maye is the second coming, he will be quick to take the credit he has been thirsty for and jealous of Belichick for, for decades. If it breaks bad, he will use Mayo or Wolf or both as the scapegoat ! Watch how an owner will try to block possible success at every turn !

I get money need to be made but sheesh you can still do a little research to create some intellectual content. Drake is going to be fine, anyone who have two eyeballs can see that. Footwork is literally the easiest thing to fix in a qb compared to something like throwing motion (which is everything) and what's crazy is, once Drake starts balling none of you will remember the terrible takes that were made about him. To me all of the Drake h@t3 is Mac motivated. What this means is your actually hitting and reading more consistently and that backs up why Hookers and Milton's accuracy numbers were better than Maye's. Also, understand Joe is hitting his WR's in a much faster tempo offense. "QB friendly offense at TN". QB friendly only in the respect that you can get rid of plays that your QB doesn't feel confident about and you can change up the offense more readily. This does not mean that the QB position is somehow easier than any other offense this isn't the Tempo Spread. You actually have to be much better than an average QB to run a Tempo Spread like TN does in the SEC. The NFL by comparison, their offense is much slower than anything TN ran or runs using the Tempo Spread. Not all QB's are good enough to run that style of offense and takes time to learn. All this boils down to is that the team's money and uppers see Joe as a bargain, as expected. They are seeing Drake as potentially, not looking like what they paid for, "at this time".

NE should of taken M. Penix jr at 3,a pocket passer with some mobility in the pocket! And a mature individual. Atlanta was surprised he was still there at 8!😮

And then be stuck in QB purgatory again like last year? Good idea. Stop listening to these fools like Burres and Greeney.

@@southsidetone😂🤡So after how shitty the QB play was last year they reached for Maye? I'll tell you a team who reached for a QB in round one that they didn't need to reach for and that was Atlanta. Like I said you didn't follow the Patriots like I did last year and I don't want to hear shit about Maye not having weapons when they went out in the draft and used every pick on the offense except one pick. This season for the Patriots is a developmental year.

The Pats front office succumbed to all the idiot fans. I agree, they should have traded the pick for more draft capital

The only idiots are the one like you who said that they should've traded back. I guess you fools didn't see last seasons poor QB play.
