Cranberries’ debut studio album, “Everybody Else Is Doing It, Why Can’t We?” (1993), launched them to stardom, which meant leaving Ireland and going on tour. While on the road, the band crafted material for their next album, “No Need To Argue” (1994). That’s when O’Riordan came up with the song “Ridiculous Thoughts” (1994), where she questions her own thoughts. She recalled : “I remember feeling a bit like an object at times. The success was so big and there were so many expectations and demands from all sides - from the label and from everybody. Thankfully the band had gotten so big by then that they didn't reply on those rags to sell tickets or records.

Dunno why the band hated this version of the video......................I think it's very well-directed and just as good as the other one! Actually, this caused them to have a falling out with Samuel Bayer (the director) and they never worked together again--and he directed their videos for Ode To My Family, I Can't Be With You and Zombie--they seemed content with the outcome of those! Have no idea what went wrong here, but Bayer did fine in my book!
