@RobskipperPSN I guess you've never heard of the meter class boats 1 mR, 2.4 mR, 5mR and 8mR. The 2.4 is for everyone, able bodied, disabled, old and young, men and women all race in the same class. Racing the 2.4 is all about tactics and trim as strength and agility are not as important. I reciently bought a 2.4 and while I am a disabled sailor, most 2.4s are raced by the able bodied.
It occurs to me that someone could make a killing in this class if they could, firstly, figure out a way of easily sliding their butts back-and-forth from port to starboard so that their weight is a little bit closer to the wind rail and thereby helping them sell with a more level posture, which would greatly increase date, efficiency of the hall and the rig. And secondly, put an effective splash guard around the cockpit, for Pete’s sake! I don’t think the people that sell or design these boats are really thinking like scientists.
