I bought your seat covers for my GX460. I appreciate the fact that they came in a color other than black. I appreciated that your advertising didn't include a bunch of photoshopped images of pets and their owners lying in the back seat. 4Knines seat covers are great. That said, I would prefer to have a firm platform for my dog to stand on. Please consider carefully making a hard bottom seat extender available. I bet that if you put a fish scale on the cantilevered section of the mockup you make for the 4Knines version of the hard bottom seat, you will find that most of the weight is carried on the seat and not suspended on the back of the front seat. In the meantime, I will continue to appreciate the 4knines seat covers I bought from you several months ago.
Thank you so much for your interest in 4Knines products. We are always on the lookout for great new product ideas, and we truly appreciate your suggestion for a rigid seat extension. While 4Knines would love to compete in this marketplace, our paramount concern is a dedication to safety. Our research indicates this type of product may not adhere to safety standards outlined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Seat extenders are typically installed by attaching to the front seat headrests. Guidelines set by some vehicle manufacturers advise the MAX LOAD on the seat back should not exceed 6.62 pounds (3 kg). Please check your vehicle’s owners manual for more information. Since most of our furry passengers weigh more than this recommended weight, we are not comfortable developing this product without further research and testing. We have added your name to our interest list, and if we release this product in the future, we will absolutely be in touch!
Thank you for your suggestion! 4Knines products have evolved and improved over the years because we listen to helpful feedback and are convinced our customers (and potential customers) make us better! Your feedback has been passed along to our design team! We hope to earn your business in the future!
Perhaps, in the meantime, you might consider the 4Knines Heavy Duty Waterproof Blanket. It measures 60 x 48" and you could add some Velcro to the back to keep it in place. Hope this helps! 4knines.me/HeavyDutyBlanket
Tell my Shepherd who slept in the "hammock" part he is not supposed to sleep there. Unfortunately, I have to buy a hard-bottom cover to give both my GSD's the room they need. I may look at the floor type as well. But, still would need to be hard-bottom.
Thanks for watching! The 4Knines Floor Hammock does not have a structural/rigid bottom. However, in most cases, the heavy-duty, flexible material can drape over and/or be molded around any uneven surfaces, tool boxes or under-seat storage. We hope this helps, and we hope to earn your business.
We are actively working on a design and hope to have something to offer in the coming months. We will reply here when available. Thanks for watching and for your interest in 4Knines products!
We are always considering new product innovations and hope we are able to develop a safe "hard" bottom seat extension and/or floor protector in the future!
Lets be honest my guy… your evaluation is a little misleading with misinformation.. that entire back piece is one and it pulls on it as a whole, for one. Secondly, the entire weight of the dog is not going to be on the back of the chairs. Thirdly, even if it was laying sideways over the gap, these seats are made to hold big ass people. Many many many people over 300 lbs, even in sedans, lean back on their seats. Which are bolted to the metal floor by metal framing. Its not an issue, the weight is also halved because it would be evenly distributed with the hard base design. Half the weight on each chair. It should not be an issue unless you have more than 1 dog in this contraption thats over 80lbs

What you need then is a proper load bearing bar that that spans between the hand holds. Much stronger, and the hammock can be mounted to it.

What if it included support from below, rigid or inflatable?

How about something in the floor well area for support?
